Hi everyone! Happy new year!I have to wait on a family shot too. I have 2 bags and a card case at the spa and one out for authentication. Also thinking about purchasing a bag on my list but I'm hard pausing.
Great advice, dc.
Did you end up keeping all 17? I counted my ins as only those I kept. Not any I returned or immediately sold.
Chanel flaps are never boring. LOL! I almost wore my patent today. I can't seem to stay out of it or my YSL which I'm wearing today.
I'll do like last time. Make a list of all the suggested topics and then use a randomizer to pick them.Spark,
I think we should try to do them all. The bag by color we should do again as we all have some new ladies and some of our collections have changed over the year. I think you should take lead and pick one for each week
I'm glad you got rid of some items!!!Purge process update. I hosted holiday brunch yesterday for 40 family members. This always leads to us drinking and in my closet. Needless to say I had some items already out that I was going to post to sell. Never got around to it. My cousins took all the shoes and I was able to get rid of 3 clutches. Also my old jewelry box. It felt so good to see the stuff go. Each shoe or boot I had only worn once. So glad that they are gone. My aunts were mad though because I didn't have anything for them. No seniors in 4inch booties please
Hurray!!! This is EXACTLY what this thread helps us do!All ready the 15 in 31 has helped me. Yesterday I pulled out that Kate Spade and not only did I love carrying it but it confirmed my desire to get a bag with at least a ten inch strap drop as that one has. It was so easy to get it on and off my shoulder with winter coat and be able to reach in and get my phone without taking it off my shoulder. After this exercise it will be seeing a lot more action.
I like these ideas. Maybe bags by style too? When I was thinking about what to let go of, I listed by style then by color to see how well I had an area covered.Everyone! What shall we do for our first weekly assignment to help us shop and appreciate our collections.
Dc suggested a family shot to start the year. I think that'a a great idea!!
Here are other ideas I captured the last few months:
• Bags by color (as we did last year. That was fun)
• Bags by brand
• Favorite bags
• Bags with special memories that we won't part with
• SLG showcase
• Bag temptations
• The bag is we're hunting
• Bags we hate in our own closet
• Bags all dressed up (with charms, twillies, etc)
• Bags we covet but will never buy
• Help me style my bag!
• The bag(s) that got away
I'd love to do bags by color or brand. Most of us have changed a lot so it could be so much fun! But I'm open to whatever the group wants to do!
Very pretty! Thanks for the info. I have never tried one of their backpacks , though I do have quite a few of their bags.I have the Jeni Frost backpack which I bought during the MZW sale. I live near the equator, so there is no winter season (fortunately or unfortunately??). Just sun and rain. But I would have likely use it, even with snow. It's light and I think the color will match the winter season enough imo.

I almost give up since I just don't want to switch out and think which bag to use. Anyway, tomorrow, there'll be a new one.![]()
I looooove black bags! 7 of my 26 bags are black and I could see adding 2-3 more. I just am trying to stop myself. LOL!!This is so gorgeous not boring! I avoid buying black bags but with Chanel, black is a must for me![]()
It's always a party at Pause Peninsula! I think it's always good to pause. I struggle with pausing when I get an idea in my head (like now) but it's always the best option.Hi everyone! Happy new year!
Sparkle, did you want to discuss with us the bag you are pausing over? (Apologies if you've mentioned it already and I've missed it).
My initial goal is the same as last year which I didn't have time to do - take stock - assess what I have, what I need/want, and what I should let go. In the meantime time I'll continue hanging out on pause peninsula!
I hate selling as well. Some I sold on a local site, some I gave away and two items I sold to an online consignment store. I am to chicken to sell on eBay so I had to get creative with getting rid of them. Good luck with your sales. Once you get started it gets easier. Thanks dc! Getting rid of 26 bags is amazing! I need to sell a few that I know I won't use anymore. Selling is just so stressful to me.
The leather looks so nice and soft on these.!!Caution, long post!!
Today I put all my bags into an excel sheet and sorted them by buying date. It reads like a diary of a journey.
I have to say that I started rather late buying bags, I was already in my late 30s. Before that I used to have all my stuff in my jeans pockets, lol.
So, I only have 25 bags, but since I always love to cleanout this feels massively cluttered to me. Thus, I plan to reassess the bags in chronological order.
My oldest bags in the list are from 2005-2010, and they are all from my first brand love. BREE is a local (German) brand. It is a privately owned company founded in 1969 that used to be high quality. However, a few years ago they started to replace parts of their production from Germany to Eastern Europe and eventually to China. Although I know that some of their bags are still made in Germany (and you can see and feel the quality difference of the different lines) somehow the brand lost it on me. I was so disappointed by this move.
I already sold quite a lot of their bags. I still have 6 left.
Of those, I just listed two and decided to keep four.
- Two bucket bags (identical but different sizes) that are made from thin Vachetta leather (somehow they achieved to have it paper-thin, the company always experimented a lot with material). I am just sentimental about these two bags, I use them not as a bag but as sort of storage containers in my closet.

- Two shopping totes that are handmade in Germany and that come from a special collaboration with a Turkish designer, one in white, one in yellow. I am using both of them.

If I would be very strict, I would sell one of each I guess. Maybe 2018.
Down on 23 and counting.
Thanks for letting me share.
1 of 15. Back in my YSL small monogram cabas. I love this bag! It's the perfect grab and go. I have GOT to stay away from her and rotate in my other bags.
Part of my issue is I wear a lot of brights (today emerald green dress, black tights, black boots). So my black bags work. This is why I need grey or Bordeaux. Either of those colors could have worked with this outfit too. Here's my bag snuggled up with my fuzzy wuzzy scarf.View attachment 3563252
If something came in and went right back out in that month it was not counted. I had to go back and look. 11 bags are still here , Two went out as gifts. The other 4 didn't work so they are gone and are part of the outs list in a different month.I have to wait on a family shot too. I have 2 bags and a card case at the spa and one out for authentication. Also thinking about purchasing a bag on my list but I'm hard pausing.

I've seen Bree bags before on the forum and they stood out to me because I really love vachetta and the patina it develops. Would love to see your other vachetta Bree...Have you always used them just for storage? Any patina?
