Welcome to the group. We have similar goals. May I ask which Mz Wallace back pack do you have and would you wear it in snow/sleet?
I have the Jeni Frost backpack which I bought during the MZW sale. I live near the equator, so there is no winter season (fortunately or unfortunately??). Just sun and rain. But I would have likely use it, even with snow. It's light and I think the color will match the winter season enough imo.

Wow! I like the print on this backpack!

Welcome to the group. I know many people are not buying at all and that works for them. If you think that is going to be to difficult don't set yourself up for failure. Pick an amount that you can really do and stick with that. Last year I got rid of a lot of bags 26 but I also bought a lot 17 . So this year I am cutting the amount I buy in half. My main thing is I can not exceed the space I am using for my bags now. That means no squeezing either. We are all here for you. Hope you enjoy our little group.
Thanks dc! Getting rid of 26 bags is amazing! I need to sell a few that I know I won't use anymore. Selling is just so stressful to me.

Gosh y'all move fast. I miss a day and my pocket friends have made 60 posts. Ok for my 10/31- can't do the 15 but wanted to push myself to do more than the 3. My faithful and most boring flap
This is so gorgeous not boring! I avoid buying black bags but with Chanel, black is a must for me

I almost give up since I just don't want to switch out and think which bag to use. Anyway, tomorrow, there'll be a new one.

You guys are inspiring me to use my backpacks!

!!Caution, long post!!

Today I put all my bags into an excel sheet and sorted them by buying date. It reads like a diary of a journey.
I have to say that I started rather late buying bags, I was already in my late 30s. Before that I used to have all my stuff in my jeans pockets, lol.

So, I only have 25 bags, but since I always love to cleanout this feels massively cluttered to me. Thus, I plan to reassess the bags in chronological order.

My oldest bags in the list are from 2005-2010, and they are all from my first brand love. BREE is a local (German) brand. It is a privately owned company founded in 1969 that used to be high quality. However, a few years ago they started to replace parts of their production from Germany to Eastern Europe and eventually to China. Although I know that some of their bags are still made in Germany (and you can see and feel the quality difference of the different lines) somehow the brand lost it on me. I was so disappointed by this move.

I already sold quite a lot of their bags. I still have 6 left.
Of those, I just listed two and decided to keep four.
- Two bucket bags (identical but different sizes) that are made from thin Vachetta leather (somehow they achieved to have it paper-thin, the company always experimented a lot with material). I am just sentimental about these two bags, I use them not as a bag but as sort of storage containers in my closet.

- Two shopping totes that are handmade in Germany and that come from a special collaboration with a Turkish designer, one in white, one in yellow. I am using both of them.

If I would be very strict, I would sell one of each I guess. Maybe 2018. :D

Down on 23 and counting. ;)

Thanks for letting me share.

I've seen Bree bags before on the forum and they stood out to me because I really love vachetta and the patina it develops. Would love to see your other vachetta Bree...Have you always used them just for storage? Any patina?

Sparks & Egg great ideas! I'd need to pend the group pics as I still have 3 bags on the way [emoji28] my bags takes about 3-4 weeks to reach. Love to see what u gals have [emoji177]
I have to wait on a family shot too. I have 2 bags and a card case at the spa and one out for authentication. Also thinking about purchasing a bag on my list but I'm hard pausing.

Great advice, dc.

Did you end up keeping all 17? I counted my ins as only those I kept. Not any I returned or immediately sold.

Chanel flaps are never boring. LOL! I almost wore my patent today. I can't seem to stay out of it or my YSL which I'm wearing today.

Spark,

I don't have a group photo of my clutches so I will need to take one. The four I'm keeping are all my premiere ones. Red patent ysl,Givenchy madonna, Givenchy envelope& Paula cadamotori.

I'm never sick of shopping. I could do it everyday no matter what. I love to browse and see what items are available....it's the only way I can add to by wardrobe. If I'm looking for specific item I can never find it so I just constantly browse and come across pieces. It drives DH crazy on how I pick up pieces instead of outfits.

Surprised that blazers don't work for you. I have to always get ones with a modern cut though. In past I have found St John to be too severe but mybe it because my mommy &few of my aunties love those knit suits.

I can't wait to see your 2017 buys
I am the yin to your shopping yang. I only shop 2 ways. The first is if I need a specific time. Then I run in get it and run out. The second is my twice a year bulk shopping. I go at the end of the summer and winter seasons and buy a bunch of stuff so I can stay the heck out of the stores the rest of the year. I'm psyching myself up for winter clearance in about a week. I'll wear easy to get in and it if clothes, throw my hair into a ponytail and gel like I'm going to war. I truly, truly despise going shopping. That is why I love the internet. I don't have to go into a mall or boutique and waste time.

On the suits. I'm a definite hourglass so I need suits that are conservative to cut out the sexy factor. I don't want to look remotely sexy at work. :yucky: And having been in conservative industries, St. John was the "uniform" for female execs. I actually really like the simple ones - not the gaudy ladies who lunch ones. Showing any personal "style" at my former jobs was a serious no no.
