And for the rest of the year I'm using 3-4 bags a month! This will get me to my >$10 cost per wear. [emoji4]
I love your bag!!!
I am hard core focused on "upgrading" my contemporary bags to premier. But the one contemporary bag that you wouldn't be able to get out of my cold dead hands is my burgundy patent Coach Willis. I love the Willis saddle bags!
Welcome to the group. I know many people are not buying at all and that works for them. If you think that is going to be to difficult don't set yourself up for failure. Pick an amount that you can really do and stick with that. Last year I got rid of a lot of bags 26 but I also bought a lot 17 . So this year I am cutting the amount I buy in half. My main thing is I can not exceed the space I am using for my bags now. That means no squeezing either. We are all here for you. Hope you enjoy our little group.Hi everyone,
I've been reading the posts in this thread. You guys are truly inspiring. I'm at a point in my collection where I feel like it's difficult to rotate and use all the bags that I love. 2016 was supposed to be the year that I limit myself to just 1 bag purchase. Well, that did not happen... ugh!!! In the last month, I have been telling myself that I really have to be serious about it this time.
Sorry, if this is too long... To give a bit of background, I'm not one that can let go easily of bags. I have bags from 10-13 years ago that I don't want to sell even if I tried. I pull them out and omg, I remember why I fell in love with it. I've decided to keep these bags as long as I have intentions of using them even if rare. I have sold a few contemporary bags that I don't even know why I got; they were either not used or used a couple of times - these were no brainers to sell. In the last 3 years or so, I have purchased bags that I really love. I bought them based on the gaps I saw in my collection. Now, I feel like I've reached a point where there are no gaps to fill but I just want more bags...lol (yes, I recognize that I have a problem).
I'd like to join you guys if that's ok. I'll keep it as simple as possible as it is not easy to attain as it is.
Pre-goal: I have one more item that I'm waiting for arriving within the next few months. I have been looking for this in the last year or so, so I'm giving myself this last item before going into bag hibernation. If it arrives, I'll be happy. If it does not, I'm no longer going to search for it - at least not in 2017
Goal:
1. No bag purchases for the entire 2017 (other than pre-goal)
2. Rotate my bags as much as possible. I'm doing well with this, I think. I'll try for the 15 in 31 and see if I can make it
Stretch Goal: No slg purchases for the entire 2017. (This is truly a stretch goal. It will take me a lot of will power but I will make an attempt.)![]()
Welcome to the group. We have similar goals. May I ask which Mz Wallace back pack do you have and would you wear it in snow/sleet?Hi Ladies! I have been speed reading the posts in this thread (tis a fast moving one!) and I want to join in as well. I have already started to mentally list out some of the bags that I want to sell/give away although no concrete action has been taken yet, because I find selling to be such a hassle. I have started with my own clothes though (these are easier), whereby I took out the clothes that I intend to donate soon and pack them together. I already felt better by just doing that.
I would like to try the 3 in 31 challenge although it might end up as 2 in 31 or even 1 in 31 though. Haha. The first bag that I will use in Jan is my small purple Givenchy Pandora. I really like this one and may end up not using other bags except for my MZW backpack for rainy days. This was easy as I was already planning to use it once I switch out my neon blue Mulberry SBS.
However, I cannot put myself on ban island as it is too difficult for me, considering the no. of bags I bought in 2016 (the last bag purchase was made on 30 Dec 2016!)But I will at least try to limit to maybe 5 new bags max for 2017. I don't want to set such strict limitations and end up not achieving anything. XD
Good luck to every one else with their resolutions!![]()
The color is gorgeous! Here you go! The pic was taken when I bought it in Nov 2016. I have only used it for about 2 weeks before I switched to my Mulberry SBS. I'm itching to use it again! It is not a hassle to get in and out of the bag (you don't need to perform special tricks to get into the bag XD It's almost like a top-zip handbag in my opinion), and it is very spacious for its size, since it is really shaped like a box!

I would love to do the family shots by color. We could do brand shots after but instead of everyone showing one particular brand they pick one they already have an showcase that. I do not have any chanel but enjoy looking at them and learning about them. This way we get to see everyones favorites or ones they are deciding whether to keep or not. Just an ideaEveryone! What shall we do for our first weekly assignment to help us shop and appreciate our collections.
Dc suggested a family shot to start the year. I think that'a a great idea!!
Here are other ideas I captured the last few months:
• Bags by color (as we did last year. That was fun)
• Bags by brand
• Favorite bags
• Bags with special memories that we won't part with
• SLG showcase
• Bag temptations
• The bag is we're hunting
• Bags we hate in our own closet
• Bags all dressed up (with charms, twillies, etc)
• Bags we covet but will never buy
• Help me style my bag!
• The bag(s) that got away
I'd love to do bags by color or brand. Most of us have changed a lot so it could be so much fun! But I'm open to whatever the group wants to do!
Great ideas! How about in the spirit of appreciating what we have we add a week where we showcase some bags that are amazing for our lifestyle? Whether it be for work, toting kids' things around, school, vacation, date nights, etc. and share why we love those ones for those specific occasions or functions?

I adore this bag.Gosh y'all move fast. I miss a day and my pocket friends have made 60 posts. Ok for my 10/31- can't do the 15 but wanted to push myself to do more than the 3. My faithful and most boring flap
Spark,I would love to see all your clutches. Can you share a photo? What 4 are you keeping?
My jewelry goals aren't that big of a deal. I'm just filling in YG & WG hoops (diamond and plain) and adding a couple more WG necklaces (w/ and w/o diamonds). In giving up my costume, I need more fine jewelry for variety. And, remember I don't do watches so that money goes to jewelry.
BUT!!!! I'm so sick of shopping I could scream! Shopping for gifts plus my things in Nov / Dec has me wanting to jump overboard. I like nice things but I'd rather eat nails than go into a store and I don't want to troll any more websites.Add that to my extreme discomfort with owning anything I don't use (even an extra pair of socks makes me antsy) and I'm at an end to the "buy" mode I've been in lately. I'm settling back into my PP crypt. I have 2 things on my radar I may get but even with those I'm pausing hard. Really hard. .
2017 is the year of the big purge. I'm going to try to get rid of 30% of of my shoes and clothes. I want to make room for adding a very few designer items. (I haven't bought premier shoes or clothes) Since my foot isn't healed, I'll start with dresses. That's my uniform. A dress and heels or boots and I'm out the door.Separates frustrate me. And I don't think I'm built for blazers unless they are very tailored to come in at the waist. I wear them for work situations and prefer St. John because they can be blocked to fit like a glove. Other blazers that are boxy make me look chunky because of my boobs.
LOL!
