Gosh y'all move fast. I miss a day and my pocket friends have made 60 posts. Ok for my 10/31- can't do the 15 but wanted to push myself to do more than the 3. My faithful and most boring flap

Nothing boring about this one at all, missie! Beautiful and classic!

Hi [emoji112] everyone! I'm looking forward to joining you all in 2017! Here are my goals (baby steps!):

1. no bag or wallet purchases in Q1 2017, with the exception of SO
2. 15/31: actively change bags to wear at least 15 during January

In my head I "need" , but know that I don't really, a classic Chanel jumbo and a classic Chanel mini rectangle.

Here is my bag and wallet #1 for January 1.

DC,

Welcome to the thread. Love your bag and can't wait to see your reveals

I am officially joining this year. I tried to last year and I lasted all of two minutes.
These sales I have bought 4 bags all of which I'm still tossing up which to keep if any. But I made a pact that once the new year clicked over that was it, bag ban time.
So I made all my purchases before the new year and once they all arrive I'll decide which to keep and which to return then I'm banning myself for the whole year....I feel confident now but I know I'll be tempted. There will always be bags after the year has passed and it gives me time to save for something special. I'm also selling a whole bunch too so by the end of the year I'd like to take my collection from over 30 to 25 or less and add no more.

Good luck everyone!
Jamie,

Welcome and we look forward to helping support your goals this year. I Willie recommend posting any tempting items here before you commit to purchase. That way we can give you advice and feedback on the item. This has been a really successful approach for us last Year and it's helped several of our pocket friends from buying/selling in error.

I have officially started my "3 in 31", even though I didn't carry any bag at all today. DH and I took a long walk by the bay, but he drove, so all I brought with me was my phone, in my jacket pocket.

Anyway, here are the three bags I'll be carrying in the month of January: Mulberry Alexa (for days when I need to carry a lot, and/or when it rains); Marc Jacobs Large Single (for dressy-ish occasions); Fendi By The Way (for days when the weather is nicer and I don't need to carry quite as much).

The MJ single looks larger than the Fendi, but that's just because of the angle of the photograph. Actually, the Fendi is somewhat larger than the MJ bag. But it's a more casual bag, because I carry it cross body, so it isn't really appropriate for dressy occasions. The leather on the MJ bag is lamb and has a bit of a glossy finish to it, which makes it dressier. Plus the color lends a bit of pop in the winter, when I tend to wear either black or navy. The Mulberry Alexa is too well-made to be considered a true "carefree" bag, but I've been in heavy coastal storms while carrying it, and it's absolutely indestructible.

Elaine,

You have great eye for bags lady. You always have the bags that I'm always lusting after but haven't taken the plunge on for whatever reason. That Fendi Has been on my back eye radar. How do you find this bag in terms of functionality with that small handle?

Thank you, Mimmy! I really love nearly all my bags now, and the ones I'm not crazy about are going to be re-homed in 2017, so I feel as though I'm in a good place with my collection.
You collection is amazing. You keep pulling out these new teasers for us like that Fendi or the green Mulberry. Can't wait to see what other hidden jems you will reveal

Everyone! What shall we do for our first weekly assignment to help us shop and appreciate our collections.

Dc suggested a family shot to start the year. I think that'a a great idea!!

Here are other ideas I captured the last few months:

• Bags by color (as we did last year. That was fun)
• Bags by brand
• Favorite bags
• Bags with special memories that we won't part with
• SLG showcase
• Bag temptations
• The bag is we're hunting
• Bags we hate in our own closet
• Bags all dressed up (with charms, twillies, etc)
• Bags we covet but will never buy
• Help me style my bag!
• The bag(s) that got away

I'd love to do bags by color or brand. Most of us have changed a lot so it could be so much fun! But I'm open to whatever the group wants to do!
Spark,

I think we should try to do them all. The bag by color we should do again as we all have some new ladies and some of our collections have changed over the year. I think you should take lead and pick one for each week

Whoa Elaine these are all such beauties!!! I had no idea you had the Fendi too lol, can't wait to see it in action!
Here you go! The pic was taken when I bought it in Nov 2016. I have only used it for about 2 weeks before I switched to my Mulberry SBS. I'm itching to use it again! It is not a hassle to get in and out of the bag (you don't need to perform special tricks to get into the bag XD It's almost like a top-zip handbag in my opinion), and it is very spacious for its size, since it is really shaped like a box!

 yours is gorgeous! I haven't seen it in this color and it's beautiful

Purge process update. I hosted holiday brunch yesterday for 40 family members. This always leads to us drinking and in my closet. Needless to say I had some items already out that I was going to post to sell. Never got around to it. My cousins took all the shoes and I was able to get rid of 3 clutches. Also my old jewelry box. It felt so good to see the stuff go. Each shoe or boot I had only worn once. So glad that they are gone. My aunts were mad though because I didn't have anything for them. No seniors in 4inch booties please

All ready the 15 in 31 has helped me. Yesterday I pulled out that Kate Spade and not only did I love carrying it but it confirmed my desire to get a bag with at least a ten inch strap drop as that one has. It was so easy to get it on and off my shoulder with winter coat and be able to reach in and get my phone without taking it off my shoulder. After this exercise it will be seeing a lot more action.
