Um...so, did you not hear I'm on a no spend month???? I've seen you post this picture before and it's really not helping. You kind of have the "ultimate" beautiful Bal edge. LOL! It's insanely gorgeous! And I love how you coordinated your sunnies. So, looking at this photo is not good for my sense of restraint.
I think I need to wear the Bal with different outfits which is why I can't buy and return. I think it should work because while I'm fem/glam/chic with my wardrobe I do like a bit of an edge. Everything doesn't have to be a Chanel flap. LOL!

For example, I have this Jimmy Choo large Biker bag that's unstructured and a little edgy. I love it and it really works for some of my looks. So I'm thinking a Bal could work too???? But I'm not sure and I am soooo tired of selling bags that I find out don't work. So maybe this is the time a rental would be a good idea. View attachment 3628370
This bag is amazing!!!! I love it!!
Your "no spend" ban is pretty safe, this Bal is not available anywhere ;)
I just wanted to show how different they can be and it's worth checking up from time to time the boutiques and/or eB@y

It's not available retail or are you saying people aren't selling it resale? In any case I need to stick with my ban on principle. I want to be able to say I did it.

No offense taken, lol.

I wouldn't consider it a wet weather bag due to the vachetta straps and trim. The bag is very nice for its age. You scored a great preloved bag.

When I bought my first all-leather LV bag, I thought I would never get canvas again. Obviously, I was wrong. DH gave me the Retiro with red leather trim as a birthday gift, and I love it. LV canvas is truly the best canvas in the premier range, IMO.

I recently bought a new piece of LV luggage, the Keepall 45. It is beautiful, durable, supple canvas. I foresee it lasting for many years and being passed on to one of two of my children. (My DH's Keepall will go to the other child.)

LV started out producing luggage for royalty and the elite class, so it is really the canvas master in the business. I'm willing to pay the money for LV canvas because I appreciate its history and its quality.

I want a keepall, but I'm afraid of overpacking it and it'll be too heavy to carry.

How much can you really fit in the 45?

DBF keeps his work stuff in his when he travels so it's not a good gauge of usefulness.

They were made for ss 2016 only, and were not available in every country, e.g. in Bal butique in Dubai the SAs had never seen and known it existed until i walked in with mine..... so i guess the number was very limited and they sold out quickly, and as far as i can see they (as yet) are not in the resale, so yes, your ban is safe. But goatskin is really good

 Thanks
Is this still how the bag looks now? Very clean vachetta! My vachetta patina-ed even in storage.
Yes, this is how it is now, I don't think it's been out of its dust bag :-)

this is my combo of the day
OS Alexa by Mulberry plus BV flats and scarf and Bal Giant studs bracelet
haven't worn this beauty for a good while, almost forgot how great she looks and wears.... very appropriate for the Spring mood :flowers:
one small side note: for me "shopping my closet" has become a good lesson of coordination of my accessories, and i am at the moment a bit more focused on filling up the gaps in this part of my closet rather than bags, a small new accessory can bring fresh breath to an old bag or spice up a boring, plain outfit and by spending a little on the accessory i am saving big on NOT getting another "better matching" bag....
and i am looking at you, Misses Enablers-2017 @papertiger @ElainePG and @msd_bags it's all your fault!! my first H scarf is on its way to me.... :D

Sorry for introducing the H-orange slippery slope to you, but you do look rather wonderful in scarves, the whole Spring outfit is wonderful

i have a few scarves already (Gucci, BV, artisan hand-made from a small silk shop in Rome), but i couldn't resist the bright and colourful palette of H you recently posted... they are all gorgeous, one better than the other...
and i just found one with all colours i love and it should perfectly blend in with my current clothes. Hope to get it delivered sometime next week

Very ol' school glamour (which is very fashionable atm). Can't wait to see it
