by the way, how do you clean/wash yours? Dry clean? or quick hand wash??
it is in pristine condition with no signs of use but pre-owned, so i am considering refreshing it before first use

H used to clean their scarves but recently stopped doing it. Pre-1990s scarves that are not already a little 'worse for wear' I dry clean at a specialist place in South London because the dye is supposedly less stable. I'm sure you could hand-wash earlier scarves too, it's just a few vintage scarves have been HGs and took a long time to find pristine. Everything else I hand-wash one at a time in a little Ecover and barely warm water (rinse twice). Hand-washing my scarves was like seeing the light for the first time, they come out so much better than dry cleaning and I no longer think about choosing more practical colours. No ironing needed and in the sunshine they take about 5 minute to dry after rolling in a towel. There's a long thread about it in the H forum which is very helpful.

this is my combo of the day
OS Alexa by Mulberry plus BV flats and scarf and Bal Giant studs bracelet
haven't worn this beauty for a good while, almost forgot how great she looks and wears.... very appropriate for the Spring mood :flowers:
one small side note: for me "shopping my closet" has become a good lesson of coordination of my accessories, and i am at the moment a bit more focused on filling up the gaps in this part of my closet rather than bags, a small new accessory can bring fresh breath to an old bag or spice up a boring, plain outfit and by spending a little on the accessory i am saving big on NOT getting another "better matching" bag....
and i am looking at you, Misses Enablers-2017 @papertiger @ElainePG and @msd_bags it's all your fault!! my first H scarf is on its way to me....
I love the pink. I had no idea Mulberry came in this color.

We're on the same page with the jewelry / accessories. The right ones completely make an outfit. I wanted to make sure I had the right jewelry this year and it's been fun to do.

But, I know I love jewelry, handbags, shoes, and hats (including summer hats). What I'm going to do now is play with some different types of accessories this year. I decided to get a "trial" scarf. I don't want to jump into an Hermes or Chanel scarf before I decide if I like to wear them. So next month I'm going to get a couple super cheap ones and play around a bit. Assuming I love them I can use these as hair scarves (headband style) and get "real" ones to wear.

I'm also going to try wearing my watch to see if I could / should want a better one. I think this latter experiment will be an abysmal failure, LOL! But, I figure why not see if my perspective has changed.

I also have avoided belts. I don't buy dresses that need them and I feel they make me took preggers in pants (yea, I know, this is totally in my head). But I decided I want 2 Chanel chain belts - WG & YG.

I'm still staying away from brooches though. I just have never liked the look even a teeny bit. Maybe that will change over the years. I don't think so but who knows.

My bags have been on ebay for some time! No buyers yet. But I did have one buyer on Gumtree, which news article later reported was happening, about setting up to meet people in public and rob them. Someone tried that with the Neverfull Epi and I am so glad she kept "standing me up" twice in one day.

I just sent my Chanel Kelly Jumbo in Pink for consignment to My Timeless Luxuries. I can't believe I have done it!!!

We're now in March and I haven't bought a bag either. Feeling proud!
Sorry you have had no sales yet, but congrats on buying no bags.

just keep in mind that super cheap scarf will be draping differently, just because of difference in fabric and finish of the trims.
Plus, for me it's totally different touch, nothing compares to a good silk scarf touching your skin.....
i mean, it could be making difference for you... does any of your close people (friend, sister, mother, etc) have any good one to borrow it for a day?? because i have a bunch of cheap ones.... hardly ever wear them.... but that could be just me ;)

Spark,

Have you considered H belt 32 mm or the smaller 24 mm. I bought one while in Paris and really like it. I should have bought two I got silver buckle with purchase but later realized I needed gold buckle as well. As they don't sell buckle separately I waited and scored new one from Fashionphile. I now am trying to decide which strap I want to add. They say the 24 mm looks great with dresses so just food for thought

You are doing very well!

Thanks Spark! Getting the 3 scarves made me realize that only a few styling options can work with our weather (haha, in the first place I knew that scarves are not really for us). Even if I stay in airconditioned rooms, I think I'd look silly if I have the scarves fully wrapped around my neck.

Congrats on no new bags in!! Browsing some other threads, people suggest that you if you really need to do a meet up, do it in a bank.

That's a really great idea!

Cheapies will work for my test purposes. It would be similar to if I tried a certain style of cheaper bag before buying premium. I'd know that I'm not getting the same finishing, leather etc. but it would give me a good idea if I liked that style at all. So, I just need to see if I like the styling on me, my bag, etc. No way I'm buying a "real" one now as I think there is a strong chance the answer will be no and I don't want to have to resale.

And my family & friends are lovely but adamantly unfashionable folk. They all think I'm a bit "tetched" in the head for my passion for pretty things. For example, I was just on the phone last night with one of my very closest friends. She owns one ratty purse that needs to be shot and put out of its misery. She said she wants me to help her buy one new "good" one. I was floored. She can afford to buy whatever she wants. But fashion is sooooo not a priority.

Eh...I don't think the style of a regular belt is for me. And I'm not crazy about the H buckle or really any highly visible buckle. The chain belts are a bit more my style so I'll stick with them for now. But, thanks for the info!

Wow, so much discussion going on. I can't participate more actively but what I shall do is to post my red bags before red color week is over. :sweatdrop:

I bought more than these 3, but one is too mini and I no longer use it. Another has been given to my mother (an oxblood bucket bag).

MZW small Sutton in papaya, Mulberry SBS in oxblood and Chloe Marcie in tulip red (a bit difficult to capture the actual color)

I'm home, finally!!!! I'll take photo of my reds tomorrow! Yay!

But.... bad news...

A) I can't find one of my reds. I searched through the condo last night and couldn't find it. Apparently, I can't find it here, too. I'm out of idea where I put it. Well, I rarely use it and was thinking about selling it anyway. I think this is a strong sign if I ever find it again, maybe I should just send it off to the consignment.

B) I can't find the red photo from last year. [emoji28] I though I put it on file, but it seems i didn't. @spark, can I have the page number from last year thread again? Or if you already threw that out, it's fine, too. My red hasn't changed, I think. [emoji28]

And what's for next week? Orange and yellow? Yeah... I'm asking this coz I won't be home again until end of the month, I think. [emoji29][emoji29][emoji29]

IMG_0967.JPG Hi again, I had a heavy week so I'm just getting my red bags up. Here they are from top left: my much loved Tod's double zip tote, my primary fall/winter work bag; the Coccinelle that I carried back from Sicily; a little Coach from 2013; and a perfectly flat Coach that I roll up tight for travel. If, in 2017, I found a red bag that really called to me, I would switch out any except the Tod's. I'm not terribly bonded and one should be bonded with a RED bag, I think ...
