140 blouses???? OMG! I can't even imagine. I bet your wardrobe is divine!!! I probably don't have 30 blouses / shirts / tops and still feel like I need to purge. LOL! I'm a dress girl. I hate figuring out how to coordinate separates. It frustrates me. You need to give me lessons. How many blouses do you plan to purge?
And you are purging your clutches?You love them! How many do you have and what is your new target number? I'm still looking for my first good clutch. LOL!
I was happy to see the costume jewelry go. No joy sparking except the few pieces I kept. I really am focused on continuing to build my fine jewelry collection. Like I mentioned, 2017 is the year I fill in all the casual items I need in both YG & WG like the diamond hoops, some bangles, necklaces, etc. That is bringing bag purchases to a screeching halt.It's interesting - you don't wear necklaces, I never leave the house without one on.
Happy New Year. I'm a separate girl. I rarely buy dresses as they don't work well for me. Im a blazer and blouse girl. I like skirts though. think my wardrobe is ok but it's a work in progress as I'm always refining it. It actually exhausting because it never feels complete. Either it's Shoes, bags or blazer. I'm currently working on my sandals. I don't think I can purge the blouses. I just got another one yesterday.
My clutches need to be all premiere so to that end I'm getting rid of all the rest. So I only have total of 4 that I'm keeping. I need a rainbow in clutches so I need to figure out my colors and go from there. I have around 10-12 total. I need to count them.
Your jewelry goals leave me in awe. I need to get few additional pieces as well. Don't like how most necklaces look with my blouses.

Just curious, is there a reason they don't work for you? I had a cheapy and it never worked for me. It looked cheap and it didn't reliably keep my bags safe. That's why I had put this one on my X mas wish list. I'm also looking at the clipa which is cute as it can be worn as a bangle too.
I don't believe ever asking this but I do need discouragement.People closest to me are just too supportive which is a real issue in the manner of cutting my spending. Good to know total ban is neither for you. I'm still wondering which thread is cleaning out the closet (link)? I'd love to join!
Marie Kondo method doesn't work for me because almost everything sparks joy due to good memories associated with the goods.
Mimmy linked it below, but I'm sure there's a method out there for you to reduce what you have.
Maybe look at it as simplifying your collection/wardrobe? Is there another goal you'd like to achieve by downsizing?
I checked my Stylebook and I'm doing 7 in 21. I wanted to get as many bags to $10 cost per wear so I had to change more frequently than used to.

if they are great function wise, and if you love them, could you sell them and rebuy them in colours that work? I think the mono canvas is a great base/backdrop for you to play around with other colours and have them pop. Pops of color makes things fun
great start guys!!I only have 3 to purge for the entire year... I think... so I don't want to do them all in January.
But I'll commit to sending ONE of those three off to be re-homed in January.
So that's my goal, and I'm committed to making it happen, one way or another, by 1/31.
This is a bag I haven't carried since last spring, so I definitely will NOT be sad about sending it off! No regrets!
coolI was really fortunate to get some nice Christmas presents this year.I'll share some later but one of my favorites is The Hookup purse hanger. I refuse to put my bags on the ground so this is great for me!!! I received the platinum one which is wonderful as most of my bags have WG, rhuthenium, etc hardware.
Here it is on my so black YSL. I'm not a purse charm gal but this looks clean and elegant.

thats awesome. I will need to read your post again to keep inspired. I'm thinking of reading some of posts in 2015 to remind myself how I did it haha. Hopefully second time around is easier although having a gap year where I did buy bags gave me a taste for them again haha. But like you, I have a lot and am grateful for what I have and should enjoy them!

i hear you, I bought a new phone in November and the cost was brutal. Love your Willis in sand. I have the penny in sand with watermelon trim. It's such a great color.

Happy New Years to all of you and we now officially start off this thread!!! Good luck everyone and remember, for those of you looking to be on ban, the palace opens its doors today! I'm on day one and tomorrow is a stat holiday and sales are still on and my wardrobe budget has hit restart, so.... I may just stay indoors and reorganize my bags and SLGs haha. Any coping strategies to share for those of us aiming for bans? If I feel the itch to buy, I'm going to make a point to consult someone first and they're going to remind me I have a lot and point out which bags I already have that serve their purpose.
I would love to see all your clutches. Can you share a photo? What 4 are you keeping?
My jewelry goals aren't that big of a deal. I'm just filling in YG & WG hoops (diamond and plain) and adding a couple more WG necklaces (w/ and w/o diamonds). In giving up my costume, I need more fine jewelry for variety. And, remember I don't do watches so that money goes to jewelry.
BUT!!!! I'm so sick of shopping I could scream! Shopping for gifts plus my things in Nov / Dec has me wanting to jump overboard. I like nice things but I'd rather eat nails than go into a store and I don't want to troll any more websites.
Add that to my extreme discomfort with owning anything I don't use (even an extra pair of socks makes me antsy) and I'm at an end to the "buy" mode I've been in lately. I'm settling back into my PP crypt. I have 2 things on my radar I may get but even with those I'm pausing hard. Really hard. .2017 is the year of the big purge. I'm going to try to get rid of 30% of of my shoes and clothes. I want to make room for adding a very few designer items. (I haven't bought premier shoes or clothes) Since my foot isn't healed, I'll start with dresses. That's my uniform. A dress and heels or boots and I'm out the door.
Separates frustrate me. And I don't think I'm built for blazers unless they are very tailored to come in at the waist. I wear them for work situations and prefer St. John because they can be blocked to fit like a glove. Other blazers that are boxy make me look chunky because of my boobs.

I am hard core focused on "upgrading" my contemporary bags to premier. But the one contemporary bag that you wouldn't be able to get out of my cold dead hands is my burgundy patent Coach Willis. I love the Willis saddle bags!
You can do it! You're the one who inspired us all!! And we're here to support you.
I don't usually do bans but I will say having my specific list of bags I want keeps me from buying the impulse bags. So maybe if you identify what you would buy next year will keep you from buying something else this year.
