2017 resolution - shopping my own bag and wallet collection. Any one else?

Happy 2017 Everyone!

I guess that I am on extended, Pause Peninsula, as I plan to buy one bag this year, but not until late Spring or Summer. I want a light colored bag, but I am not certain which one. Size matters. A Goldilocks bag; not too big and not too small.

I actually sat down this morning and wrote down the amount that I plan to spend on my wardrobe, and a separate bag/slg budget. This worked very well in 2016, so I am hoping that it works well this year too!

@eggtartapproved I think that I will need help in sticking to my plan too. Last year when I was tempted to buy a bag I had not planned for, I went into my closet and took my bags out of their dust bags. Looking at them usually made me very happy, and quelled the urge to immediately buy another bag. [emoji3] I also planned to buy the H Picotin Lock; I did, and I knew that other purchases would delay the purchase of the bag that I really wanted.

I did a fair amount of selling the last 2 years, and although overall I did well, I find selling stressful and time consuming. So I would rather make well thought out purchases with the hope being that I won't need to do much selling.

I checked my Stylebook and I'm doing 7 in 21. I wanted to get as many bags to $10 cost per wear so I had to change more frequently than used to.

First bag is my Speedy 20. [emoji4]


Today also starts my 3 month shopping ban. A full 90 days.

Guys. You all know how I am. I love a good deal and I usually shop for others.

And birthdays come up in April. No planning or anything until then! [emoji31]

Happy New Years to all of you and we now officially start off this thread!!! Good luck everyone and remember, for those of you looking to be on ban, the palace opens its doors today! I'm on day one and tomorrow is a stat holiday and sales are still on and my wardrobe budget has hit restart, so.... I may just stay indoors and reorganize my bags and SLGs haha. Any coping strategies to share for those of us aiming for bans? If I feel the itch to buy, I'm going to make a point to consult someone first and they're going to remind me I have a lot and point out which bags I already have that serve their purpose.

I'm coping with my ban by still staying in bed. Haha.

I also have things to organize, like all my new charms. Lots of craft projects too!

Help!!

In 2017, I really could use everyone's support, encouragement, general harassment and even threats and insults to make sure I get my purgatory bags listed and sold. I really will feel better when they are gone but after selling over 100 bags over 5 years I'm sick of everything about selling bags.

My goal is to list two bags a day from now through Wed (I'm going to Las Vegas for a girls trip on Thursday). That will get half of them listed. Please hold me accountable!

And my Coach Ranger in red that I am loving! (Purchased for a song recently and love the straps do shoulder or cross-body)

That Baggu looks so handy! I was thinking of getting one when the plastic bag ban took effect.

Then realize I had lots of totes so I didn't buy lol. But I love the color of your Baggu and the Coach coordinates so well!

The baggu is great! By far the lightest tote I own and I beat on it and it has held up great - just dried now and in need of a bath! DH has been taking it lately with the boys in tow and has not been doing it any favors

Maybe if it goes on sale at Nordies! Somehow my reusable grocery totes have been taken my by family because they haven't bought any. They won't take one if it looks like a purse haha.

For anyone curious on what a Speedy 20 can carry:



These are my essentials.
ZCP, my one actual wallet.
Card case, with the rewards cards in it.
Back up battery, Pokémon and tpf drains my battery haha.
Cles, for my allergy meds.
Mini Pochette, for all my other necessities.

And tucked in a corner is a foldable reusable bag.

2. 15/31: actively change bags to wear at least 15 during January

In my head I "need" , but know that I don't really, a classic Chanel jumbo and a classic Chanel mini rectangle.

Got my two bags listed! They are bags that I don't really use but I have held off listing for forever since one is one of a kind and one is super rare, and at one point was an HG. But I do not have a bag museum so I finally got myself to list them and feel good about it. Hopefully they'll sell!

Thank you, thank you!! I don't know why this is hard for me all of a sudden. I used to list bags like it was nothing. But, I REALLY appreciate the support!!!!

Congrats on getting your 2 bags listed!!!! Yay! I grit my teeth and listed 4 bags and a wallet. Ugh! That was sooooo not fun.

Do you mind if I ask where you like to list? I put mine on eBay, Tradesy and Vestiare. I also decided to try Poshmark again even though I haven't had any luck selling there at all. Some people say they listed on Facebook. I think I'll try that now too. Listing each item 5 times is really a pain. This is more reinforcement that I need to buy ONLY what I'll keep.
