2017 resolution - shopping my own bag and wallet collection. Any one else?

Thank you, thank you!! I don't know why this is hard for me all of a sudden. I used to list bags like it was nothing. But, I REALLY appreciate the support!!!!

Congrats on getting your 2 bags listed!!!! Yay! I grit my teeth and listed 4 bags and a wallet. Ugh! That was sooooo not fun.

Do you mind if I ask where you like to list? I put mine on eBay, Tradesy and Vestiare. I also decided to try Poshmark again even though I haven't had any luck selling there at all. Some people say they listed on Facebook. I think I'll try that now too. Listing each item 5 times is really a pain. This is more reinforcement that I need to buy ONLY what I'll keep.

Awesome job! It'll help keep me accountable too so I can meet/exceed my January selling goal. I've listed on Bonanza and Facebook in the past but pretty much just use eBay these days.

Since I'm on a ban, I'm holding off purging, especially since I did a lot of that last year.


But if I find something to not work out, then I'll put it aside and see if I reach for it again or not. If I don't, it'll be sold.

Got my two bags listed! They are bags that I don't really use but I have held off listing for forever since one is one of a kind and one is super rare, and at one point was an HG. But I do not have a bag museum so I finally got myself to list them and feel good about it. Hopefully they'll sell!

I am officially joining this year. I tried to last year and I lasted all of two minutes.
These sales I have bought 4 bags all of which I'm still tossing up which to keep if any. But I made a pact that once the new year clicked over that was it, bag ban time.
So I made all my purchases before the new year and once they all arrive I'll decide which to keep and which to return then I'm banning myself for the whole year....I feel confident now but I know I'll be tempted. There will always be bags after the year has passed and it gives me time to save for something special. I'm also selling a whole bunch too so by the end of the year I'd like to take my collection from over 30 to 25 or less and add no more.

I completely forgot about Bonanza! I'll add it tomorrow when add 5 more bags that I took pictures of today. If I do that, I'll have 9 of my 13 purgatory bags listed and can get the rest done before I leave for my Vegas vaca on Thursday.

When I get back, I'll list the 3 pair of sunnies, one fur, a watch, a couple pieces of the costume jewelry (the rest I'm just going to donate), and a stack of NWT jeans that are too big. That will be enough for January. I don't want to get overwhelmed.

Then I'll regroup for Feb. I really need to find a consignment store for all these clothes I don't need.

And i am happy to report that i resisted the temptation of sale on my fave consignment!

At the end of 2015, I wrote on the 2016 version of this thread that I wanted to buy no handbags in 2016. I bought nothing. There was a bag bought for me though by DH, the new mulberry Bayswater. We had a talk and I just wasn't feeling it so we returned it. He's an understanding man and he took no offence. For 2017 the plan remains the same. I have a lot and I am grateful for all that I have and will continue to enjoy what I have. Surprisingly, it wasn't that difficult to abstain last year. Good luck to everyone as they make their New Years resolutions with regards to handbag buying Xx

I checked my Stylebook and I'm doing 7 in 21. I wanted to get as many bags to $10 cost per wear so I had to change more frequently than used to.

First bag is my Speedy 20. [emoji4]


Today also starts my 3 month shopping ban. A full 90 days.

Guys. You all know how I am. I love a good deal and I usually shop for others.

And birthdays come up in April. No planning or anything until then! [emoji31]

Happy New Years to all of you and we now officially start off this thread!!! Good luck everyone and remember, for those of you looking to be on ban, the palace opens its doors today! I'm on day one and tomorrow is a stat holiday and sales are still on and my wardrobe budget has hit restart, so.... I may just stay indoors and reorganize my bags and SLGs haha. Any coping strategies to share for those of us aiming for bans? If I feel the itch to buy, I'm going to make a point to consult someone first and they're going to remind me I have a lot and point out which bags I already have that serve their purpose.

My coping strategy is to delete all emails about flash sales BEFORE reading them!

Help!!

In 2017, I really could use everyone's support, encouragement, general harassment and even threats and insults to make sure I get my purgatory bags listed and sold. I really will feel better when they are gone but after selling over 100 bags over 5 years I'm sick of everything about selling bags.

My goal is to list two bags a day from now through Wed (I'm going to Las Vegas for a girls trip on Thursday). That will get half of them listed. Please hold me accountable!

Do you want us to perster you, spark? Like, ask you tomorrow how you're doing on listing you bags? Or will you block us if we do that?

Yes I'll come in here. No clothes, bags, shoes.

I have one after Christmas purchase still on its way, but that's it. this ban feels so difficult and it's only day one.

I've done that today too after I was re subscribed when I bought online. I subscribing from anything that encourages me to spend.
