Spark,

DD hit the jackpot...you mentioned the wool fur cap.... I think that a classy piece to have. I love fur also....lately I had been wearing my fox trapper hat. ...how I love it. Cape trimmed in fox would be so lux.

I don't have much costume jewelry either as I don't wear necklaces. These tend to look rather foolish on me. I will wear branded cuff bracelets from Hermes, Fendi etc but that's about mixed with my trusty yurman bracelets but that's about it. I kinda want a Cartier love bracelet but I don't want to pay that insane price for branded gold. I'm afraid to get one preloved because of all the fakes.

I have decided to purge the clutches and see how well that goes. My blouses on the other hand is different story. I just counted them all and here is grand total- 140 blouses, 22 demin shirts & 20 additional casual shirts that are hanging. No I haven't worn them all, but I like idea of color options when I get dressed. I will admit I have too many demin and too many blush blouses. Writing this has got me to identify a new goal.....no more demin shirts unless I do 1 in two out. I would never stab you Spark I would just take your new gold Boy
I'd MUCH rather you stab me than take any of my bags.

140 blouses???? OMG! I can't even imagine. I bet your wardrobe is divine!!! I probably don't have 30 blouses / shirts / tops and still feel like I need to purge. LOL! I'm a dress girl. I hate figuring out how to coordinate separates. It frustrates me. You need to give me lessons. How many blouses do you plan to purge?

And you are purging your clutches? You love them! How many do you have and what is your new target number? I'm still looking for my first good clutch. LOL!

I was happy to see the costume jewelry go. No joy sparking except the few pieces I kept. I really am focused on continuing to build my fine jewelry collection. Like I mentioned, 2017 is the year I fill in all the casual items I need in both YG & WG like the diamond hoops, some bangles, necklaces, etc. That is bringing bag purchases to a screeching halt. It's interesting - you don't wear necklaces, I never leave the house without one on.

I would like to join if I may.

Not very clear on my goals, yet. But the first one is to

1. sell every bag and SLG that I don't truly like.

SLG: I don't own that many SLG, probably I should rather buy than sell ( I even don't have a proper wallet), but actually I can't decide between colorful or neutral SLGs. I have some mono LV items that I love, and some small Hermes. Somehow they don't work well together.
Welcome! Finding slgs that really fit our uses is tough especially when they are so easy to buy because they're so cute and colourful. I bought a lot when I first started collecting bags and there was no rhyme or reason to it- if I liked it, it came home with me. Then I let got of a lot in 2013/2014 and am aware to keep things to a minimum and make sure each one works really well. Slgs are really a work in progress thing but I think selling the ones you know won't work is a good start. A good way to at least remove the clutter and not tie you down to what didn't work. As for working well together, do you mean they don't match? Or function wise they don't do everything you need them to do?

Ooh! Share pics? Maybe you can get a strap for it and make it into those trendy mini backpack crossbody bags.
The size wouldn't work too well for a trendy mini bag unfortunately, but good idea! I think I'd just remove the straps and call it a day for a while haha.

 WOW!!!! This is absolutely stunning, Sparkle! Love it so much. Hope the authentication goes well!
Wow, spark, this is a BEAUTY! It dertainly looks real from where I'm sitting, but I know from nothing about Chanel bags. Crossing my fingers for you that the authentication goes well, and that the marriage ceremony can proceed as planned.
Happy New Year!!! :heart::heart::heart:
Spark, this is gorgeous!!! Hope it will turn out authentic!
I remember the Dior gold bag that you got as a replacement bag. I keep that in mind as part of my learnings from this thread. No to place holders!
WOW, way to ring in the new year! She's gorgeous.
This is so cool! Enjoy!
OMG I love this bag.....it is the perfect shade of gold and I love that it isn't all plain solid gold. The texture on the bag gives it something extra. It will come back authenticated the purse gods wouldn't be that cruel.
Stunning!!
Thanks for all the likes and kind comments about the gold bag. It's so nice to be able to share my happy with my pocket friends who "get" crazy handbag love. LOL! I'm super excited!!! I just wrapped her back up and will drop her in the mail tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

I had a tote and gold bag on my "to buy" list, but didn't expect to find them in December. LOL! So I need to refocus my 2017 goals.

As I've continued to downsize my collection, I've sold almost 50 bags in just the last two years. But, I've also bought 18 of my current 26 in that time too. So, I'd like my collection to settle a little. I don't have any huge gaps to fill and FINALLY really love what I have. :hbeat:

So my new 2017 goals:
• Buy no more than 2 bags <eek!>
• Sell 15 bags: 13 purgatory, 2 TBD in collection
• Have a 100% success rate on purchases (no returns or sales of bags bought in 2017)

The bags I buy need to be 2 of the next 3 on my list: a workhorse (grey, bordeaux or black), a replacement for my cobalt Kate Spade (cobalt or emerald green) or a silver to replace the two I have. Please help keep me from buying a purple zebra print hobo I don't need (or really want). LOL!

I must stay off eBay, Fashionphile, Farfetch, etc to make my goal. It doesn't work for me to say I'm just looking. I always "just look" for what's on my list so I always "just find" something to buy. :-s And I need to try to come to this thread BEFORE I buy something so you all can remind me of my goals and ask me the tough questions.

Ok. I can do this. Deep breathing...

That works too. Haha. Still wanna see how bright it is!

Definitely try to make it over to the thread and write it all out before you grab the credit card. I know in 2015 when I didn't buy any bags, there were times where I was tempted but I got on the thread and wrote out my thoughts and even if no one got back to me in time, just having written it out helped myself decide it wasn't the right one. Everyone here may be hearing my thoughts a lot this year haha.

My main problem is that they don't match.

I have mono LV for most of the essentials (cles, round coin purse, sunglass case, phone case. Then I have two Hermes agendas and one Ulyssee in aqua , green and red. They even don't match together, let alone with the LV mono. This would only work with blacks and browns. But I am much more tempted by the colorful ones .

I guess, I have all year to sort this out.

My January goal is five bags out by the end of the month. I have a tentative purging ban and will have some bags on probation this year.

Still deciding on my 3 in 31 bags for January.

I've been revisiting a favorite thread from 7 years ago for inspiration - I sold a lot of bags back then - got to a fairly low number - and used my funds to buy my first two premier bags, a BV Veneta and a Bal Velo (both of which I no longer have, both of which I was silly to sell). It's interesting to see my thought process from 7 years ago, and it's eye opening to find myself in a similar situation 7 years later. The trick this time will be to declutter and stay decluttered.

I really wanted to start clearing out today but we got back from a week away last night, and I've spent the day either on baby duty or doing laundry/unpacking. I brought only one bag on my week away - my Massaccesi Blue Africa Midi-Soulmate - and it was all I really needed, and it went with all of my (neutral) outfits. I also only brought one necklace and one scarf and managed fine. Just goes to show that I can get by fine with less - it just has to be the right less.

Does anyone have a true white (not cream, eggshell, ivory, etc.) handbag?

I have thought about getting one but can't pull the trigger. I don't know if it would look too stark because I don't wear pastels. I wear black, grey, white, brights and jewel tones. And, I don't see a lot of brands doing a lot of white.

So do you have white? Do you think white is a good color to have? Or do you hate white bags?

I have a Coach 1941 Rogue in Chalk. A pure white. I LOVE it. It is classy and it goes with everything. Wore it almost every day last summer. You have to watch pure white
against denim. I sprayed it with Apple Guard Stain repellent. I also loved the Chalk color so much I bought the Coach 1941 Tea Rose Dinky for dress in Chalk. Just an exquisite full leather lined bag, but has some gold mixed in with the white. Would not hesitate to buy either white bag again. [emoji7]

I really like your white, Coach bags, Purse FanGirl!

The Tea Rose Dinky really tempts me, but I think it would be too small for my needs, so I am happy to hopefully see yours occasionally!
