Work is slow right now so I've been playing around on my Stylebook.

I can't believe I've used this for almost 2 years! It'll actually be 2 years in January!

If I can stay focused on my goals and wait until my trips & birthday, I'll be well underway of having most of my bags at $10 or less cost per wear! And very on track to use all of them. [emoji4]

OMG! My new bag came in!!!:panic:Some of you know I've been going down my "to buy" list and hunting a gold bag for 2 years. Finding the perfect one that doesn't make me look like I'm a Vegas show girl was hard.

But I found it! I just got a new medium Chanel Boy in perforated gold lamb. :hbeat:

I. Love. This. Bag!!

I'm sleepy so this isn't a great beauty shot but work with me. LOL!

I got her in almost like new condition with all the extras: box, flower, ribbon, book, cloth, etc. from a very lovely lady. I'm sending the bag off to be authenticated but I got an initial visual verification and to my (uneducated and excited) eye ;) she looks good. Please keep your fingers crossed. I'm in love! Really. I want to marry this bag. :hbeat:

This will replace my gold Dior Rendez Vous that never really worked for me - too small, strap drop not good for my height - another stupid compromise. I'll learn one day

Getting this bag changes my goals for 2017 because I planned to seriously hunt a gold bag next year. So I'll rethink my goals and share in a bit.

But til then...WHOO HOO!!! Thanks for helping me shop and analyze my closet. All the conversation and positive peer pressure has really helped me stay on task and get the bags I need for my collection. :happydance: I really appreciate it!!!

I'm rethinking the Hermes tpm Evelyne as one of my bags for next year to accompany the LV Capucines BB.

I could do the search at both my potential vacation spots.

Still not sure on my SLG situation, as this is a big weakness for me.

At the beginning of 2016 we talked a bit about Marie Kondo's philosophy to only keep what brings joy. So with all of us trying to shop our closets and eliminate / avoid buying the handbags that don't truly work for us in 2017, I thought I'd bring her philosophy to the forefront again.

I'm jumping in.:panic: My bags & SLG's are already stripped to the bone so I needed to look at other areas. I took a deep breath, girded my loins and PURGED!

 <yikes!>

My results:
• Costume jewelry - I donated all but 6 statement items and a faux pearl set (I don't like pearls but the look works for some outfits)
• Fine Jewelry - I gave several items I got in my 20's to DD. She said it was Christmas part 2.
• Furs - Selling 3 of 6. :crybaby:I need Valium. LOL! But, I just don't wear those 3. I can just buy the one additional fur and fur trimmed cape I do want and call it a day.
• Scarves - all donated. I hate scarves. I just felt I "should" have them. I may add a special Chanel or Hermes scarf one day.
• Sunglasses - Selling 3 of 10 pair.
• Purse charms - All donated. They aren't worth the effort to sell and as much as I'm a big kid, I hate junk / toys on my bags. I tried to pawn them off on DD and she looked at me like I was nuts.
• Coats - all ok as I purged them last year.
• Misc - I donated extra gloves, umbrellas, hats, etc. If I hadn't used it in the last 12 months it was out.

So that's my initial Kondo purge. I feel better already! :yahoo: Now I need to do my clothes (Stylebook will help) and shoes (have to wait til my foot is healed)

Anyone else up to the challenge?
I did a LOT of this last year, and also rearranged drawers with the Kondo "folding techniques," so all the clothes/scarves/coats/jewelry that I kept are a lot more accessible. But I think I can do an additional clearing in 2017, because I lost 20 pounds in 2016 (this is in addition to 10 pounds I lost in 2015) so I have clothes that are now much too large for me.

I feel a bit nervous about giving everything away, but at the very least I can move some items to "deep storage." I have already divested myself of oversized, drapey tops that I bought when I put on the weight in the first place back in 2013 (this was due to medical issues and related medications that have since been resolved), and if the weight continues to stay off in 2017 I'll give away the remainded of the larger clothes next December. That feels like a manageable goal!

Wow, spark, this is a BEAUTY! It dertainly looks real from where I'm sitting, but I know from nothing about Chanel bags. Crossing my fingers for you that the authentication goes well, and that the marriage ceremony can proceed as planned.
Happy New Year!!! :heart::heart::heart:

Spark, this is gorgeous!!! Hope it will turn out authentic!

I remember the Dior gold bag that you got as a replacement bag. I keep that in mind as part of my learnings from this thread. No to place holders!

Great job in losing weight! That's one of my many goals next year. I want to drop a size or two so I can justify a brand new wardrobe when I return to London!

Hoping your medical issues are resolved and you can clean out the old clothes!

What color are you looking for? Is your orange a tpm?

I don't have a red colored bag, but I like dark red. Or maybe bright green or blue? Basically the Capucines will be one, the tpm Evelyne will be the other.

And my Orange Evelyne is the PM size. :)

By January I will start my exercise routine again. I stopped in September when I had my respiratory allergy/asthma attack. The thing is, my weighing scale is broken (I'm actually mad at our house helper since she is so careless with stuff and she probably caused the screw at the bottom of the scale to detach, now the digital scale no longer reads weight). So, I have no idea about my weight! But my clothes are the same size.

I have decided that for 2017 I will get a small red satchel. My red Marc Jacobs 54 is a bit big for non-work days. The Mansur Gavriel mini Sun bag (in tumbled leather?) is a candidate. I also love the YSL smallRive Gauche (or this could be the one I'll get in black), but I'm not so comfortable with the price yet.

If you have a Fitbit, we can be friends! (That's for anyone here! Haha. )

I hope your respiratory issues have also been resolved or you have the remedies needed!

Make sure you know the size of the MG! Mini to them seems to be pretty small! But the price range of MG is very nice for a non-workday bag! (Aka, less guilt if you don't wear it as often as a work bag)

Being Fitbit friends is nice! But lately, I have been wanting to wear my other watches so Fitbit is made to run out of battery charge and hide in the drawer. [emoji18] Maybe in January I'll be better. Plus, I only synch it once in a blue moon since I don't normally leave bluetooth on my phone on to save in battery charge.

There is one store in the upscale mall that carries MG bags. When I went a few days ago, they still don't have the Sun, so no size reference. But I must say I like the Lady bag, despite it not being my style. Btw, they also don't have the tote in Large. I've been curious about the size of that. Oh, and the Saint Laurent boutique is also in that mall. I totally liked the small Rive Gauche. [emoji7]

I wear my Fitbit with my watch haha. I changed the band to leather so it matches well.

Hopefully they'll have your options soon so you can check them out.
Are you ok with the leather MG uses? Isn't it prone to scratches?

Not sure of the SL bag, I've seen them on sale at TJ Maxx and Marshalls, so I've seen that they can take some beating but not much.
