I'm curious. For those of us not in bag buying mode - either by choice or chance - how long has it been?
As I mentioned, I've fallen unexpectedly into a now 4 month 3 week no buy period.![]()
How long has it been for everyone else?
It sounds so weird but it really does help.I do this too! With any big purchase (and some not-so-big purchases), I take a picture of myself wearing it and look at it later. It’s funny how different looking at a selfie can be from just looking in the mirror — it’s really helpful!
What about the new red chanel? Does that not count or did you not keep it. I thought it was lovely. I am not feeling great so I might have missed it.I'm curious. For those of us not in bag buying mode - either by choice or chance - how long has it been?

Good question. I'd thought about counting material "swaps" on the same model as ins. But, when I tried to make it work that way in my head, it seemed silly. It's more akin to me buying a bag at the store and then exchanging it for the same bag in the same color in a different leather. I'd never count that as ins and outs. And, I don't have the "high" I'd get from buying a new bag which is really what I'm trying to control. What about the new red chanel? Does that not count or did you not keep it. I get that. If it works for you that is all that really matters. I am glad you kept the beautiful Chanel.Good question. I'd thought about counting material "swaps" on the same model as ins. If, however, I were to sell a Prada DZT and get a totally different bag - say an LV in the same color - I'd consider it an in and an eventual out out because I would be fundamentally discontent with the original bag.
Thanks! The caviar is going to consignment today. I'm getting more for it than the cost of the lamb so I'm happy.I get that. If it works for you that is all that really matters. I am glad you kept the beautiful Chanel.
That’s such a pretty bag, in a great color! I agree, it was a gift (and not a gift you asked for) so it doesn’t count as breaking your ban.
I don’t get bags from DH, but he did suprise me with a BV lanyard. I’d been talking about getting one in cobalt. He got black because he knew I’d want to exchange it, which means I get to drag him into the boutique!
Congrats on the scarf — I love men’s scarves, for exactly the reason you stated: not too girly!
It's a pretty bag Bake!
My .02 would be the smart buy - You need it, you'll use it and you LOVE it.Yoogi's is having another sale. And, I'm being seriously tempted by 3 bags.
1) A fairly expensive everyday bag that I really want and know I'll use. But, I think it will cannabalize usage from some other bags.
2) A beautiful workhorse black bag that would be a good replacement for the YSL and help take some pressure off the Fendi which I wear a little too much
3) A WOW! bag. I've been looking for a wow! bag for several years. This is definitely one I'd love. But it's expensive and will lose value. And, I don't know that I neeeeed a statement bag since some of my regular bags are pretty much statement bags like my silver microcannage Diorama. Lol!
Argh!
I need to be sensible and pass on #3.I've committed to not spending a lot of money on limited use specialty bags. That change has served me well - my most expansive bags are my most used bags. So I don't need to back track.
So if I buy it would be down to...
#2 which would be a smart buy. I need it, I'll use it and I love it.
- Or-
#1 which is reeeaallly calling my name but not needed. I know I'd get a lot of use out of it. But, honestly, it would cut out some uses of some other bags.
I can do one or neither. I cannot afford both.
Help!
Labs just eat everything. You'll be very poor if you decide to get one. Have you considered a mixed breed like Chihuahua x Labrador, a miniature lab?Update on my dog search:
Mom wants a Labrador, but Labradors are big. lol.
I want a dog that can travel with me in a little carrier.
