2017 resolution - shopping my own bag and wallet collection. Any one else?

I tried to do this but the day we were buying was in the height of the shopping season so it was a busy store. The GM seemed good. But you’re right ... I have to see the MM again. The bag is too expensive, and then I’d need another strap, so I have to be certain the size is right. I really like the bag though.

I don't think I ever officially made a goal this year, I did want to slow my roll! I haven't bought a bag in 3 months!! I've had the urge the last couple days with sales, but holding strong. My goal for 2018 is to buy 1 bag, as of yet undetermined. The group here has really helped me to stop, and think about a purchase ...am I bored, do I need a bit of adrenaline, this bag is kind of cute.....these can not be reasons anymore. The last bag I bought was end of September for my birthday and I love it! 1 next year, goal.

You went a quarter of the year with no bag purchases! That’s great! You can definitely do a 1 bag buy next year!

I do this too! With any big purchase (and some not-so-big purchases), I take a picture of myself wearing it and look at it later. It’s funny how different looking at a selfie can be from just looking in the mirror — it’s really helpful!
That’s such a pretty bag, in a great color! I agree, it was a gift (and not a gift you asked for) so it doesn’t count as breaking your ban.
I don’t get bags from DH, but he did suprise me with a BV lanyard. I’d been talking about getting one in cobalt. He got black because he knew I’d want to exchange it, which means I get to drag him into the boutique!
Congrats on the scarf — I love men’s scarves, for exactly the reason you stated: not too girly!
Those three bears make frequent appearances in my life too! I think you need to think about exactly the need this bag is supposed to fill. If it’s supposed to carry all your winter stuff, going back to a smaller size won’t accomplish that.
That’s the tricky thing with crossbodies. When they get big enough to really have a lot of capacity, they either look too big or aren’t comfortable to carry, either because they’re too heavy, or because they bulge out, or because the strap is too thin and digs in. I have reluctantly had to admit that when I have to schlep a lot of stuff, a tote bag that goes over my shoulder works better than a crossbody bag. A small Longchamp Neo is about as big as I can comfortably go in a cross-body style.
I'm curious. For those of us not in bag buying mode - either by choice or chance - how long has it been?
