I hope everyone had a merry Christmas/happy holiday!

Here’s my Christmas gift from DH. It’s a Bottega Veneta large cervo Veneta in Steel. She has a glorious smell and is so chewy soft.

Steel is a chameleon color. It is a dark taupe indoors near a sunny window. But, depending on what other colors are near it and on the lighting, Steel can also look grey or even a lighter taupe in photos. My SA told me that Steel is currently Tomas Maier’s (BV’s Creative Director) favorite color.

I like the Siena. I tried on both at the store, and I prefer the MM size. If you want to be able to wear the Siena year-round, maybe the GM is too big?? Perhaps bring your bag to the store and try on the MM as well so you can compare and be more certain of your decision.

I do like the bag. I like that it’s very simple in design, as KS can get over the top. Crossbody strap and a top handle that’s comfy. The color is one I’ve been wanting to buy but couldn’t find the right one. [emoji4] so this works perfectly.

DBF must have remembered I was looking for a bag that went with my Burberry jacket, which is in a similar color, so it must’ve been easy for him to remember I wanted that color since I was wearing that jacket when we all went shopping. Haha.

It sounds like the right size winter bag if a medium gets too stuffed. Were you intending to carry it without a jacket?

How about the weight of the GM bag? Sometimes the larger sized ones are heavier, which is a problem for me (neck & shoulder issues) but I know isn't a problem for everyone. Have you tried it filled with all your winter stuff, and then carried it around on your shoulder for a while? I know it's difficult to approximate indors versus walking for long NYC blocks with a bag, se would you be able to leave the tags on the bag and take it for a careful stroll outside if the weather is nice?

In the fall I would wear it with a blazer and scarf ...I like that look. This size fills a definite hole. All my other F/W bags are medium at best, including my Le Pliage Neo, a small. I see that I’d need to buy a longer, wider strap for it. After watching YouTube Videos of the Siena GM modeled, wear and tear and all the rest, I know that LV doesn’t intend for the GM to be worn crossbody because it buckles in the middle, so they give a shoulder length strap with it. But I can wear it crossbody because I’m smallish, use an insert, and I doubt I’ll load it up that much with heavy items. I’d like a webbing strap. I think that would make it really comfortable and so roomy.

Congrats on this bag... it's a beauty! I love that steel color, it's so very versatile. The leather looks amazingly soft and smooshy.

That's a great lesson! I'm learning to simply ignore all the "sale" emails that clutter up my mailbox.

The only sale that still gets me excited is the August Nordstrom anniversary sale, but I try to shop it sensibly. I did buy a lot of clothes there this year, but I was upgrading my wardrobe and clearing out a TON of stuff that no longer suited me, and I've been wearing (& enjoying) the pieces I bought, so it was a win-win. I know I'll have to be very careful next August, though... I won't be doing a clost clean-out them, so I really won't be able to justify a lot of shopping. :huh:

The weight seems ok now but I may try walking around the block with it. Good idea! I have an insert for this size bag so lining will remain pristine.

So I am one in for December, but I didn’t buy it so I say my ban isn’t broken [emoji23]

No SLGs or any other bags this month. No outs either. [emoji4]

Did anyone else get bags and SLGs this Christmas? I know some did mention there were some under the tree!

I also did get a scarf from DBF from the LV event. It’s a men’s scarf so it’s not so girly and I love it!

Try your stuff in It and put your coat on and the look in the mirror and take a selfie. It sounds weird but when I can visualize it better it really helps.
