Thanks, @morebags for the outfit compliment. I’m almost through my entire fall winter wardrobe, have documented each day for over 20 days, and I am making a little collage in an album. Kind of like stylebook, but outfits altogether. I’ve decided because my mornings are kind of a blur (I’m so useless and groggy in the mornings, I’m so not a morning person even if I’ve been in the bed for 10-12 hours by the time I get up because my sleep is so fractured with various children asking for escorts to the bathroom, a snuggle, a tuck in, etc.... and then I can have a really hard time getting back to sleep; not that I am a morning person anyways and never have been!) that I would set up my outfits into 28 or so to rotate through, and I even change into my bag that I want to match to that outfit the evening before, so in the morning I just put on the outfit I’ve set out the night before that is ‘its’ turn’ in the rotation, and focus on braiding all the manes of hair that I’m supposed to braid before they go to daycare, drinking coffee, maybe applying a dash of makeup if I have time or running a brush through my own hair, and getting out the door on time. Oh, and after alllllll the layers of snowsuits and wool suits on top of regular indoor clothes, and hats/gloves/etc.... It takes a good 15 minutes just getting Littles into car seats from the time we decide to leave. Anyway deciding how to pair up clothing items and put together a cohesive outfit was not happening in the morning, and I was only using like 10 % of my clothes , whichever one was most recently laundered and sitting out in the laundry room quick to grab, and much of it would languish in the back of my closet. So I decided to really put together outfits and rotate through so everything gets actually worn equally. It was a chance to prune a few things out once I realized I didn’t love them enough to include them in the 28 looks or they just didn’t actually go with anything or were worth buying items to complete a look.
So yeah, my stylebook is my walk in closet, 3D real life version. I hung everything including cozy layer on top (cardigan or shawl or scarf) on individual hangers for each day, and I just rotate through grabbing the item on the far right, hanging up previous days items that didn’t get tossed into the hamper on the far left, and rotating. It also makes putting my clean clothes away easier, no thinking about where to put things. To be honest it’s usually my black or dark blue pants with mud on the calves from walking through sandbox at daycare, so they are relatively interchangeable so I don’t always put the exact same pair of skinny pants/riding pants/leggings with the exact same top each time.

Wow, I’ve rambled.

soramillay, you’ve talked about leaving MM before but it seems to be a sticky habit! :)

Of course it was not my phone that arrived with UPS. It was christmas shopping for the family. Which will not be needed to wrap and put under the tree until the weekend so I wish it would have been my phone!!!!

I can’t decide whether to give my sons their ‘sweatpants jeans’ now or later. They will WORSHIP them, they will wear them every single day and bug me to launder/dry them at night so they are ready in the mornings, etc.... and they grow so fast that the sooner they get them, the more weeks of wear they will get out of them before they are outgrown. They will only fit for a matter of months, year max, so an extra six weeks is no joke in terms of actually maximizing pleasure from them. They are SO HARD TO FIND. If they were easy to find in their size I would always have a supply for them, but I really made a mission out of searching for sweatpants in their size that really look like jeans made from normal denim. I haven’t found any in 2-3 years but just found two pairs for the tween and a pair for the teen that look like they will fit them, and actually look like the product we have been searching for. Grail clothing item in my family. I want to give them to them right away so they can get every single week use out of them asap before they are too small, but on the other hand of course I want joy sparking gifts for christmas morning. What should I do?

WHERE IS MY X?

So, a week and a half ago, I was in a car accident (a distracted driver rear ended me on a cloverleaf style highway entrance ramp and I ended up in a concrete barrier).

I'm perfectly fine because we weren't at top speed and I drive a Cadillac Escalade which is a tank. But, I just found out my car is totaled. :crybaby: I am sooooooooo not a "car person" but this car served me well for a decade with zero repairs needed. I'm devastated. I have no clue what car I want to buy and I hate spending money on cars.

I know I don't need a huge SUV. I got it when I was hauling my kids, their friends, sports equipment and other stuff around. So I'm flummoxed. I wish there was a car genie who could read my mind for subconscious wants and needs and poof a car into my driveway. LOL!

So, I guess my bday present this year will be a car...yippee...not :frown: instead of something more useful. Like an orange sequined micro clutch with purple & green feathers. Ugh!
I'm glad your okay. I can't help you on the car thing as I don't know anything about them. All I can say is read the contract on the new car. My dh was distracted by the guy talking to my son and signed the paper and we got ripped off.

DC and Bake, thanks for thinking of me and Mulberry!

I have to report something...I just pulled the trigger on the Oxblood small Zipped Bays!! You mentioned that the oxblood usually doesn't go on sale. I thought that if I don't get it now, I will get the Coach Market tote in Oxblood, which will be some sort of a 'replacement' purchase. So, despite there being no sale, I went for it. I placed the order at Selfridges a few minutes ago (it wouldn't go through yesterday, probably the site is clogged because of the sale). They are having a sale but there are Mulberry exclusions, my order included. But the price anyway is still good as they remove UK tax, final price maybe $200 less than US retail already inclusive of custom duties/taxes to Singapore (SG) and shipping. I had to bother my niece, well, more like her husband, for the SG shipping, lol. My niece is currently here as she just gave birth here. Her husband is in SG and will likely be in the office at the time of delivery which will likely require a signature. So they asked to use a friend's address who has a nanny that will be there all day long. When I told my niece I will order already she said I have low EQ!! I didn't realize patience/impatience is part of emotional quotient, haha, because I always thought I had good EQ level. If I didn't order now, I planned to buy in SG through my sister in January. But I couldn't wait any longer!!! Hope all goes well! And if delivered early enough next week, it will be here in the country by next weekend. I just don't know exactly when I will get it after that.

Last year I had my quest for a car. I was supposed to put my money on a Europe fund trip, but due to some happy circumstances, it became a car fund. Paid for the car in cash. Somehow helped lessened my bag purchases too!! As we always discuss, there are other life expenses than handbag purchase!! :flowers: But we are always happy to receive bags! Btw, glad you were not hurt during that accident. I spent some time comparing car specs last year, in the end I went for the compact SUV that I had a crush on ever since it was first released here.
I can't wait to see your new bag.

I had to look twice what you chose for your casual day....I live in Cleveland and know Fount well! I keep wanting to buy one and just need to pull the trigger. I should wander over to their storefront now especially for the holidays. Glad you chose their bag! Nice people!
Very nice people and the bag is super quality. I can't wait till I go to that fair again next year as I would like one of their drawstring bags as well. I like to see and feel the piece I buy so I need to wait, but you can't go wrong with them. You will love the quality once you see it in person.

This is a fantastic idea. I love your style. I am rather lazy and have a ridiculous amount of black tops and skinny or straight jeans and that is basically what I wear. I am trying to add some other clothes , but I have to force myself to use them.

Thank you thank you! I used to be horrid at only using a small fraction of my closet and leaving most of it, including bags, just sitting and collecting dust. If I wait until it’s time to get dressed in the morning, with all the hectic things going on in mornings to get everyone ready and my own morning grog, it just won’t happen, I’ll grab something really plain and easy and just about zero accessories, and nothing put together thoughtfully. Now I feel like, after one hour one afternoon of effort, that all my clothing items are put together into the best possible collection of a couple dozen ensembles I could have without shopping outside my closet.

@Sparkletastic so sorry about the accident and totaled car. But maybe it was time to move out of a people hauling SUV and into something more suited to mostly just moving *you* around...but of course without sacrificing on safety! Volvos are supposed to be incredibly safe, and of course BMWs. We went for the BMW earlier this year when choosing a new car because of the safety features for a 7-seater for all seats in the car, especially the little ones in the middle row, but I would assume the same is true for a more compact car suited for a single driver.

I cannot wait until driverless Ubers are everywhere on earth for totally cheap!

OMG ... an accident and a totaled car! Thank heaven you’re OK :)

Lease first to see if you really like what you think you might like???

I’m not really in the Thanksgiving mood. I haven’t celebrated it since the nineties, really. And I only celebrated it in the nineties as a kid&teen, as it was not really much done in Honolulu when I was little, and it was something I quickly dropped as an adult in college because going back to family was too far, expensive, etc, and too close to christmas break. Then I had only 2 before moving abroad and i think I skipped those as well, and it is definitely not done over here now that I am overseas these last 15 years.
So yeah, it was a brief decade that I did a regular Thanksgiving celebration each year, in my childhood, and it is something I barely remember nowadays! I asked my kids if they would like to celebrate it and they were resoundingly against it, so I didn’t push it.
