Thanks for the kind thoughts. I was very lucky and happy that I wasn't hurt. It could have been much, much worse.Last year I had my quest for a car. I was supposed to put my money on a Europe fund trip, but due to some happy circumstances, it became a car fund. Paid for the car in cash. Somehow helped lessened my bag purchases too!! As we always discuss, there are other life expenses than handbag purchase!!But we are always happy to receive bags! Btw, glad you were not hurt during that accident. I spent some time comparing car specs last year, in the end I went for the compact SUV that I had a crush on ever since it was first released here.
And congrats on the bag order. I can't wait for the reveal.
I thought about going online with my complaints about YSL but I figured it would be a lot of effort and little return. I'm not going to change their policy.Agree. I suppose if I were media savvy I could post images of me carrying a Dior bag with tattered handles for the world to see. That would be great for branding?! The last few days, I tried it with the twillies...ugh..it all came loose . I was so annoyed. I need to contact the leather repair places pronto or just give up on the bag, which would sadden me.
Funny you should mention the bag organizers. I actually have a Samorga and it has too many compartments and those compartments are “snug”. Things get lost because I can’t recall which picket it’s in. I realize that I prefer how the pockets built into bags are more “open” and I don’t want too many pockets as I only want to put my phone, agenda, and glasses in pockets. If there were a side pocket for a water bottle, great! The remaining items (wallet, cosmetic bag, key pouch) just lay in the main body. I’m sounding a bit too Goldilocks here, I know...but finding the perfect tote is vexing!
Strangely enough, I prefer a tote that doesn’t close..at least for everyday (not for travel). I drive everywhere, so security is not an issue. I once had a Kate Spade canvas tote that I carried to death. It was light, just the right size, with a light colored lining so I could find everything. Maybe I should revert to canvas..actually my beloved and beleaguered Panarea is canvas ..well that explains it.
The perfect tote is so elusive. I also like open totes which is why I want a center zip compartment. It allows for some security. I found the perfect tote this morning as I peeked at the sales. But it has ghw and I already have a great tote with ghw. So I need shw.

The Dior Soft is perfect from a size and structure standpoint. I'm just not crazy about how it looks on me. Sigh. One day I'll find "my" tote.
Oh no!!! I'm sorry this happened to you. Thanks for the advice.I'm glad your okay. I can't help you on the car thing as I don't know anything about them. All I can say is read the contract on the new car. My dh was distracted by the guy talking to my son and signed the paper and we got ripped off.
Yep. I've been thinking smaller. I only need room for 2. But....what if I want to haul friends?@Sparkletastic so sorry about the accident and totaled car. But maybe it was time to move out of a people hauling SUV and into something more suited to mostly just moving *you* around...but of course without sacrificing on safety! Volvos are supposed to be incredibly safe, and of course BMWs. We went for the BMW earlier this year when choosing a new car because of the safety features for a 7-seater for all seats in the car, especially the little ones in the middle row, but I would assume the same is true for a more compact car suited for a single driver.
I cannot wait until driverless Ubers are everywhere on earth for totally cheap!

I've been wondering if I'd miss the extra cargo space. It's nice to be able to bring home a serendipity chair, etc. I didn't expect to buy.
I've read about the mid sized BMW SUV. It's a great car. It looks a little masculine for me though. Can't say why I feel that way. I should probably look at it in person.
Leasing is a good idea! I haven't done that before. I usually just buy and go. I wonder what the time frames are on a short term lease.N
OMG ... an accident and a totaled car! Thank heaven you’re OK
Lease first to see if you really like what you think you might like???
Thanks for the hug. I'm really frustrated about this car situation. And, I will happily take all recommendations.Sounds light a scrumptious And delightful Mardi Gras minaudiere! As I mentioned in a previous post, I have a mini cocktail bag problem. The more impractical and special, the more I want it. I ❤️ those things. I think it’s because they are like jewelry! I am sorry about your car sparkletastic. Perhaps you want to talk through your needs and we can try to advise.I do know that if women designed cars, there would be a resting space for a handbag..I’d swap the armrest lift-up thing (whatever it’s called) for a seat for my handbag

What I think I want:
• Preloved 1-3 years old
• 5 star safety (6 front airbags, rear airbags, etc.)
• mid sized SUV or possibly a 4 door sedan
• lots of style - nothing boring or frumpy

• may or may not be a luxury brand
• some decent cargo capacity (maybe?)
• white or black (easy!)
I'm thinking of the Lexus RX 350, Cadillac SRX or Cadillac XT5 ? I dunno.

Argh! This is one category I just am not excited about. When I sort for safety and then low cost of ownership / reliability (my top two requirements), I get a list of cars that pretty much look the same to me. OK, well some are uglier than the others. LOL! So, then I think well - just get the least expensive of the group. I need to do a sort on price.
I think I need to visit dealerships next week and get some in person intel. Let's see: in person shopping + cars. I really am in Hades.

Oh well, today being Thanksgiving is a great reminder for me to be grateful. I'm safe despite the accident and have the means to buy a car. The situation could be very different and I'm cognizant of the fact that I am privileged to be in this situation.
