It’s kinda random but I really like the idea of a backpack.

I see lots of people with the Palm Springs mini, but I’m now seeing the full size backpack of it too.

Does anyone use a backpack here?
I use mine occasionally - it's an old Coach backpack. I use it so seldom that I think about selling/donating it, but then when I look at it and feel it, I think 'But I might need it and it's really nice…'
So I still have it!

Does your YSL tote has quality issues? Maybe it is not ad durable as Fendi?
Yes it does. A spring lock screw on each handle fell out within 24 hours of each other causing the handles to dangle. :annoyed: This was only about 3 months into use with me primarily using it with the shoulder strap. I've never had a problem with bag handles so I'm fully considering this a problem with the design of the this was unique to the YSL.

And, as I mentioned, Saint Laurent refused to help me since I purchased the bag preloved.

So I'm not a SL fan at all.

Based on that, your leading question would point me in the right direction. If I had to pick it should probably be the SL. I just was waffling because the design is more versatile with my wardrobe. <insert sheepish look here>

The other day when I peeked in the Mulberry subforum, I saw the info about the online sale in the US. The zipped bays was not on sale. The site serving my country has not yet gone on sale. On another note, this bag is sadly excluded from the current Selfridges sale. But the Milla is available. But I'm more or less decided on this Mulberry.
Perhaps it's good you're only focused on getting one bag. You've thought about the Milla for a while and it hasn't made the cut. It may be a bag you should admire from afar.

I don't think you can go wrong with the Mulberry.

When do you carry a backpack?

I’m thinking if I go back to walking at big parks, beaches, and visiting theme parks, I’ll want a cute backpack. But until then, I don’t know if I’m wanting a backpack for daily carry.

My coworker has a cute MZ Wallace one! So cute. But I don’t know if a backpack is necessarily me.

I used to use it all the time - it was great with 3 sons because so much could fit in it. It was perfect to carry either on my shoulder or as it was intended. We used to ride to the library to unload and reload books and then stop past the DQ.
I used to have an adorable pale pink patent leather one that I traveled with all the time - it held a wallet, sunglasses, tissues, and a few important things - I'd go everywhere and still have my hands free.
Now I use it to go to baseball games, to the zoo with my granddaughter, or to a you-pick orchard, but that's about all I use it for.

Could you borrow one for a day to test it out?

This make so much sense on wearing a backpack.

Lol but it’s just me. So I don’t even have much to fill it with.

Maybe I just like the idea of casual chic lol

So, a week and a half ago, I was in a car accident (a distracted driver rear ended me on a cloverleaf style highway entrance ramp and I ended up in a concrete barrier).

I'm perfectly fine because we weren't at top speed and I drive a Cadillac Escalade which is a tank. But, I just found out my car is totaled. :crybaby: I am sooooooooo not a "car person" but this car served me well for a decade with zero repairs needed. I'm devastated. I have no clue what car I want to buy and I hate spending money on cars.

I know I don't need a huge SUV. I got it when I was hauling my kids, their friends, sports equipment and other stuff around. So I'm flummoxed. I wish there was a car genie who could read my mind for subconscious wants and needs and poof a car into my driveway. LOL!

So, I guess my bday present this year will be a car...yippee...not :frown: instead of something more useful. Like an orange sequined micro clutch with purple & green feathers. Ugh!

I thought I had seen it too but then could not find it so I changed my post.
I think Mulberry takes stuff off sometimes. Hopefully we spot it again for msd!
DC and Bake, thanks for thinking of me and Mulberry!

I have to report something...I just pulled the trigger on the Oxblood small Zipped Bays!! You mentioned that the oxblood usually doesn't go on sale. I thought that if I don't get it now, I will get the Coach Market tote in Oxblood, which will be some sort of a 'replacement' purchase. So, despite there being no sale, I went for it. I placed the order at Selfridges a few minutes ago (it wouldn't go through yesterday, probably the site is clogged because of the sale). They are having a sale but there are Mulberry exclusions, my order included. But the price anyway is still good as they remove UK tax, final price maybe $200 less than US retail already inclusive of custom duties/taxes to Singapore (SG) and shipping. I had to bother my niece, well, more like her husband, for the SG shipping, lol. My niece is currently here as she just gave birth here. Her husband is in SG and will likely be in the office at the time of delivery which will likely require a signature. So they asked to use a friend's address who has a nanny that will be there all day long. When I told my niece I will order already she said I have low EQ!! I didn't realize patience/impatience is part of emotional quotient, haha, because I always thought I had good EQ level. If I didn't order now, I planned to buy in SG through my sister in January. But I couldn't wait any longer!!! Hope all goes well! And if delivered early enough next week, it will be here in the country by next weekend. I just don't know exactly when I will get it after that.

Last year I had my quest for a car. I was supposed to put my money on a Europe fund trip, but due to some happy circumstances, it became a car fund. Paid for the car in cash. Somehow helped lessened my bag purchases too!! As we always discuss, there are other life expenses than handbag purchase!! :flowers: But we are always happy to receive bags! Btw, glad you were not hurt during that accident. I spent some time comparing car specs last year, in the end I went for the compact SUV that I had a crush on ever since it was first released here.

I have one of those convertible backpacks but I mostly leave it in backpack model. Honestly, I hardly ever use it but I just keep it for those days where I really need to be handsfree e.g. volunteering for a field trip at the daycare where I have to hold more than one toddler’s hand. A tote would be too fussy for those occasions and a large crossbody might end up getting in the way.

I’m so sorry about your car. It sounds like it served you well and loyally for 10 years. It’s not money that you want to spend but I think it’s an important thing you want to spend on since it saved your life. I guess you should apply your bag shopping analytical skills on the car buying process. Now that you’re not driven by mom necessities, you will find a car you adore. There are lots of cute ones out there.

Wow, I’m excited to see your Mulberry! Your niece is so funny haha, but she still agreed to help you. I guess she is expecting a good baby gift in exchange?

Sigh, I was reflecting on Momasaurus’ experience in the MM thread and thinking that since I walked away from Rebecca Minkoff, maybe I should also walk away from Massaccesi at the same time. I’m disappointed that they would refuse to repair a zipper on a cardholder that would be relatively inexpensive to mail back to Italy. No attempt to make it right at all, not even a message from Marco personally. Yup, that doesn’t sit right with me.
