After all that careful thought she chose a black coach wallet I had. I did sell a small bag today though. So I guess the wallet will sit and taunt me a bit longer , till figure out what to do with it.

Well, I'm feeling very virtuous this morning because I photographed mine (14 photos!!!) and sent it out for offers to three different places. Now we shall see! Yoogi's will most likely give me the best price, but then I'll have to wait until it sells. Fashionphile will probably lowball it, but at least it will be gone. And who knows about Bag Borrow Steal.
However, at least this little project is done, and I'm feeling really good about that. And also (and this is the best part) SO thrilled with how fantastic the camera is on my new phone! Almost (almost) takes the sting out of needing to sell a perfectly good, as-new handbag that just didn't work out for me!![]()
Today I decided first that I did not want to keep with the Betsey Johnson bag, and then that I wanted some color since my outfit is neutral. So....

My Coach mini Preston in lemon. I could hear @ElainePG in my head worrying about looking like a bumblebee but I decided to use it anyway. My top is black and white and it's a pale yellow. I snapped this while I was waiting for the bus leaving church.
My degree leans on Math a lot and I can say I'm very comfortable with it, but do you know I have a hard time with mental calculations especially those simple ones with lots of zeros! Lol! So I salute you!Me too, Cat! Upper level math is like Greek to me but our ds excels at it. The only thing I'm good at is easy mental math problems. Yesterday when I was waiting at the counter in Kate Spade a woman come up and asked the clerk how much her bag was when it had a 20% discount on top of a 60% discount. Before the clerk got out the calculator, I told her the amount. They acted like I was some sort of genius. (Not even close.) Lol!![]()
As to the guilt part, when you sell the wallet eventually, can you give a gift to the person who originally gave it to you?Would not sell it to her just give it to her, but the guilt thing is why I have kept it for more then 4 years. Ugh I hate this kind of stuff.
Good luck! Good job on finally taking the first few steps to selling!Well, I'm feeling very virtuous this morning because I photographed mine (14 photos!!!) and sent it out for offers to three different places. I'm glad I did too (on the SL tote)! I looked at some Dooney bags too yesterday but I don't recall seeing totes. Maybe they don't have a lot here.I can't review the Coach but I can say that Dooney has some AMAZING looking bordeaux colors bags. I went in store yesterday and was so tempted!
I remember you debating over the SL Tote. I'm so glad you took the plunge and realized it was worth the cost!! It's your #1!!
Have you ever seen photos of how Jane Birkin trashed her first Birkin bag? I mean to say, she STOMPED on it! Drew on it! Put stickers on it!!! And kept it until it d@mn near fell apart! And then she got another one, and did the same thing. Think of those wrinkles as part of the bag's purse-onality!![]()
Oh, I would never think about bumblebees with that pretty pale yellow color, dear paculina! It would never even cross my mind! Your outfit sounds simply beautiful. And I just love that sweet bag. Very stylish.Today I decided first that I did not want to keep with the Betsey Johnson bag, and then that I wanted some color since my outfit is neutral. So....

Oh, I never heard that part of the story! And then, she auctions them off for charity!
I'll keep you posted. Of course with Yoogi's, I have to keep in mind that it's consignment, so they keep a percentage, and also who knows how long it will take to sell. BBS and FP are immediate sales. So it will take a bit of figuring. When I got estimates on mine, Fashionphile’s price was better than Yoogis. Sometimes it’s timing and luck of the draw. I’ll be interested to see who gives you a better offer!

And math has never been my strong suit. But "handbag math" I can manage... just about!![]()
Perhaps they do, and I'm mistaken. I'll see what happens when they send me a quote. My memory from the time I sold my YSL Sac du Jour through them was that I was only given the choice to consign... but that was a couple of years ago, and I might be remembering it wrong. Or maybe they only consigned then, and they give you a choice now? They don’t buy out at Yoogies? Thought they did?
Oh, I never heard that part of the story!
I'll just bet they go for a TON of $$$$$, right? For a super-beat-up bag?![]()
From InStyle Magazine, 2011:I have no idea what they sell for. But from what I’ve read, Jane Birkin gets a free Birkin every year. Hermes also donates money to a charity of her choice as compensation for being able to use her name. And, after she uses the heck out of each bag, she auctions it for charity. Nice life, eh?![]()
From InStyle Magazine, 2011:
Jane Birkin auctioned off her Hermès Birkin bag (yes, the original) to benefit earthquake relief efforts in Japan! The worn-in purse, which Birkin decorated with stickers and talismans from her travels, fetched £100,100 on eBay this weekend—or about $162,840 at the current exchange rate, and all of the proceeds will go to the British Red Cross. "It’s very nice that everyone’s got one or wants one," Birkin told Vogue. "I keep saying to Hermès to make it out of plastic or, even more fun, make it out of cardboard. Then it wouldn’t be so heavy."
A plastic or cardboard Birkin?????![]()

I'd say Jane Birkin definitely has a sense of humor!
She seems to be extremely practical. She has also said she almost never wears her Birkin because it’s so heavy it gave her tendinitis!

ETA: I just went back and checked the site. You're right, they give you a choice of selling or consigning. Good to know!![]()
