Good to know!
I had tendinitis and it hurts!!
More reasons to not buy heavy bags like the Birkin.

Yes, weight has become more and more of an issue for me. A couple of days ago, I used one of my H Garden Parties. I had to lug a bunch of stuff to a doctors appointment and then DH and I were meeting at a restaurant where he’s holding a dinner in a few weeks. We know the restaurant owner and she’s as crazy about bags as I am — we always have fun talking about LV vs. Chanel, what each of us are currently lusting after, etc.

So, the GP. By the time we got there, I was aching from carrying the damn thing. It was too full to put over my shoulder, so I was elbow carrying it. It had all my usual stuff plus a notebook and a water bottle. Ugh! But my friend took one look and was like, “What-is-that-bag-it’s-gorgeous.” She loved everything about it that I initially loved: the quality, the simplicity of design, the color. Now she’s thinking of getting one! I told her about the problem with shoulder carry but that doesn’t really bother her.

So, I feel bad because I have two Garden Parties and rarely wear them. I used to have three but sold the one in the color I liked/used the least. So, that is one out at least. I’ve been thinking, though, and I realize that one of the few holes in my collection is a luxe shoulder tote. I love my Longchamps but sometimes really want a more high-end option. If anyone has any recommendations, I’d love to hear them!

I like the looks of the Saint Laurent tote but hate when bag designers do the detachable pouch thing rather than building in pockets. Owned an LV Neverfull years ago but didn’t like the skinny shoulder straps (plus, I do want leather, not canvas). Stylistically, I’m thinking casual elegance, not business tote.

I’m intrigued by this one but haven’t ever really ventured into BV. Would love everyone’s opinions.

Not many of Coach’s stuff is under $500. At least not the ones everyone is all about.

I guess since they’re made less than $500 Massacessi can be an addiction.

Also point should be made that Massaccesi didn’t exactly appear in TPF out of nowhere. He made bags for Belen Echandia, which was one of those brands that died. The ladies from that subforum were the ones who basically championed Marco because they already knew and trusted his craftsmanship. I think tenKrat was from that era. I was exclusively in the L.A.M.B sub forum in those days, haha! I actually like this historical stuff :) I wish the OGs would tell stories about the beginnings of this forum and what things were like back then.

That’s kinda cool!! That explains the large following here for Massaccesi!

Not about the BV since I don't know the bags much, but I also like the look of the Celine cabas.

There are other totes from LV now. I’d have to check for one that’s casual not business and not heavy. But that BV one would be really pretty, but no idea on weight.

I didn’t think the GP would be heavy. Is yours all leather?

I dislike the pouch vs actual pocket. The pouch they give is thin and kind of useless. [emoji85] and I have two from my Neverfulls. I use the zip pocket inside more.

I wore my silver microcannage Diorama today. This is absolutely my favorite bag.:yahoo: I paired it with jeans, a one shoulder multi colored blue top and silver strappy sandals. Simple silver jewelry finished the look.

Again, I'm too lazy to put this in Stylebook. :whut: I wish I had saved stock photos of everything when I bought them. Oh well. My probation closet will let me know what needs to go next year. Lol! View attachment 3884009

I really like this diorama sparkletastic. I was really close to getting the slightly smaller one in the metallic blue but didn’t pull the trigger, thinking that it might be a tad small. But I sneak peeks at it when it comes up on the resale market. Why is it your favorite bag? Perhaps you have said before and I missed it...I’m convinced our answers to that question are emotional (not that that is bad..it is the whole underlying premise behind spark joy)

Ladies, if any of you see the Coach market tote in Oxblood go on sale, please let me know! Thanks! I'm debating if I should go for the ones where I will have to pay duties. I will still save a little from the boutique price here but still higher than US SRP.

At today's forex conversion, anything less than US$195 will be exempt from duties.

I tried on the Celine cabas with the tie belt — not sure what it’s called. It’s beautiful but looked enormous on me! I’ll have to revisit Celine and see what the other options are. I love the aesthetic but historically, they make a lot of bags I don’t find practical because they don’t work as shoulder bags or are heavy.

Btw, I don't mind the no pockets since I use a bag insert with lots of pockets.

Yes, both GPs are all leather. They actually don’t feel heavy empty, and according to the ladies on the H forum, the all-leather GPs are way lighter than a Birkin. My problem with the bag is that I use it when I have a lot to carry — if I have less to carry, I pick a different bag! — and also, the handle drop is a little too short. So a Longchamp long-handle tote, even crammed full, is a lot more comfortable to carry than the GP.

Re. pockets vs. pouch, I definitely need the pockets. I at least want a pocket for my phone that is stationary in the bag so I can grab it in an instant. I hate fumbling around looking for something in my bag, especially a ringing phone!
