Dooney zippers are usually pretty smooth.... but sometimes a domed style has a
stiffer zipper. Try running some waxed paper over the zipper.... when it is closed and
open (top and bottom of the teeth). This will often help and it's what they do
in a Dooney store. Then run the zipper back and forth and see if it loosens up.
Also be sure the bag isn't over stuffed so the zipper isn't wonky and the leather isn't
pulling/pushing on the zipper.

The wax paper won't hurt the bag or the leather. And you may have to try it a
few times. If the zipper doesn't ease up, after you work it, then it just might be
something that you will have to live with or return the handbag.

Hope this helps.
Thank you! I sent it back!

How would you describe the pebble grain oyster color??

Wow that fushcia! Tell me about it! How is it to style it?
I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but I own another fuchsia Florentine
handbag. I generally style that color with cool neutrals....like black, navy,
or grey. For fall, I'm thinking of using the fuchsia with wine and burgundy
clothing. I love the bright, intensive pink as a pop of color.
I'm sure it would also work with pale pink or white.... but those colors
don't do much for me. I've seen fashion spreads with wine and red
or fuchsia with red... maybe I'll be daring.

Bucket bags are currently an 'in' style, as are drawstrings.
But that is not why I bought it.... I just love the color and the
Florentine leather and the price was really good.
I carry all my bags on my arm or in my hand, no matter what the style.

Just a few of my latest treasures from the recent ILD sales
I didn't need them, but I'm glad I ordered them.
You struck gold with these treasures! Beautiful!

I'm currently carrying a pink medium Longchamp le Pilage bag. I've been carrying it since October 1st and I'm loving the lightweight carry. I would love a Dooney nylon bag the same size in the Plumes design!

Enjoy your new beauties!

I have a few Dooney nylon handbags and I think they are great quality. I've found that
the ones with more leather trim are heavier and the ones with less leather are much
lighter. I do appreciate the versions of Dooney nlyon where the nylon itself is
thicker and more substantial. And the leather trim does add to the style of the bag.

L'Pilage bags are very popular. I haven't tried one yet.

I love the quality of Dooney's nylon bags! That's why I would love to see nylon bags in vibrant prints. I can imagine nylon drawstring bags, satchels, and tote bags in Plumes, florals or graphic designs.

That's a great idea.... nylon in a print! The plumes would be magnificent. And the hydrangea would be stunning. Also some of the graphic or geometric prints, would be
very interesting. And while I'm thinking about it... an leopard print or zebra print
would be nice too.

Someone who is on social media should put this out there in a Dooney
supported forum so that maybe they will pick up on the idea for a future
nylon collection in prints!

Yes! I forgot about animal prints! I'm going to try to find where I can put out our suggestions. I follow a few Youtubers who are Dooney Ambassadors. I can start with them.

Hello Everyone, it's been a while!

So this was an unexpected buy for me. A content creator I follow, listed that the Penrose satchel was on sale. She didn't link to the bag or say if it was Dooney or ILD, so I searched both sites. I was surprised to see that they were selling 2 different versions of the satchel, but I saw the Aubergine Penrose 30 and I just bought it. I can't resist a pretty purple, and I don't have any purple bags from Dooney. My only issue was I didn't know how much it weighted. Someone responded under the community post and said they had the bag and it weighted 3lbs 8oz, and I thought their scale might have been wrong because the bag has similar dimensions to the Florentine mini satchel and that's about 2lbs 6oz. I got the bag yesterday and I weighted it completely wrapped - so that's it stuffed and with the handle inside of it. It was 3lbs 0.75oz :oh: I said it was too heavy for me and I was planning on returning it, but last night I unwrapped and I put one of my thick cotton straps on it, and the bag felt light to me. I packed it with my essentials: wallet, keys, e-reader, large wristlet, and foldable headphones, and I walked around my house with it, and it still didn't feel heavy. I only feel the weight when I hold it by its handles or if I wear it on the crook of my arms and I hardly ever wear my bags like that. I don't know if it's the compactness of the bag or the type of the leather used, but even though the bag is heavy according to the scale, it feels light to me when I wear it crossbody, so I think I'm going to keep it. I'm also thinking about getting a smaller one as one. Maybe in the grey or the green, but I haven't made up my mind yet.

Another buy for me was this chevron Bitsy Bag. I've been waiting for the yellow one to come down in price and it finally did on ILD.

I love both of these. I broke down and got the Fuschia striped Bitsy Bag. It's so cute. I will have to look at that penrose....it looks so pretty. I had the Penrose 25 and my daughter loved it so much I ended up giving it to her. Now they are so much more than what I paid for. I'll have to wait till 12 days of Dooney and see if they go on sale.

Enjoy your new handbags. I was tempted by the same Penrose bag.... so many beautiful colors and outside pockets too. But then I saw a slightly larger version, without the
outside pockets on ILD. I need that extra space.

I wonder why the Penrose satchels are so heavy. Is the leather very thick?

I'm glad you found a way to enjoy your new satchel. I love the Aubergine color.

Can you tell us more about the Penrose?
