My Plumes cb & wallet in black that I carried for a few weeks prior to moving into the awl satchel. That will be the extent of Plumes for me. I just don't like it quite as much as I thought I would. Aged fickleness I suppose.

I have the Plumes in blue and in black. Love the print but haven't carried either yet.
I find prints to be great accessories when paired with the perfect outfit.
I don't enjoy them for long term carry because they don't enhance every outfit.
The Plumes has so many beautiful colors.

My guess is that you will rediscover the plumes sometime in the future. In the mean time
you have so many other lovely handbags to enjoy.

The blue is really pretty too! The great plus side of that collection is that all colors are easily 4 season bags. I think I just tire quickly of looking at this particular pattern. I need to rotate bags more often any way. 🙂

Hi everyone! I just got my first florentine bag and it’s mostly all pebbled in the medium toggle chestnut. My mom bought the same bag and hers it totally smooth. What causes the variation? And which one ages better? And which do you all like better? Idk if to return it and ordered again since the last one i ordered was half smooth and half pebbles, at least this one is mostly pebbled

I like the smooth better. It is personal preference. I bet the pebbled would age better.

I really don't. I think it shows it is less processed than some leathers so more natural. I notice the same thing with vintage Coach.

My mom got the smooth couple weeks ago, i fell in love and ordered the same bag and mine is pebbled. I also ordered the ecru which was wow beautiful but half pebble and half smooth- returned that one but kept this one just wondering if to keep or try again!

I had a less than stellar experience with that very same bag right after it was released. The bag they sent to me looked as if all 4 parts (2 on the front & 2 on the back) were cut from different sections of different cattle. There was no attempt to match any of portions of it, & thecwhole bag looked beat up. I can honestly say that was the worst looking bag D&B has ever sent to me. I don't know what their issue with the manufacture of this bag is. Some buyers receive really nice ones, others get the ones that should never ever pass inspection.

I think smaller bags and SLGs are more likely to have less than stellar leather.
They are made from the smaller pieces of leather, collected after cutting of the
larger handbags. Mass production often doesn't include a step for
'matching'.... just pull the precut pieces and sew. OF course, it shouldn't be
that way.

I've also noticed that my Florentine SLGs in natural and red are often darker
and with more patina than the handbags. The leather 'scraps' that are used
to made these SLGs might be handled more and sit around waiting for a big
enough pile to start production. Just my opinion, but my red SLGs are
never red, they are always a light wine color.... nice, but they don't match
my red handbags or my wine handbags.

Just received the pebble grain domed satchel with the stiff standing up handles and the zipper is insane to slide over the dome, tough tough tough and rigid not smooth at all and jams. Is this normal cus of the half moon shape? Will this get better? Or is it better to send the bag back?

Dooney zippers are usually pretty smooth.... but sometimes a domed style has a
stiffer zipper. Try running some waxed paper over the zipper.... when it is closed and
open (top and bottom of the teeth). This will often help and it's what they do
in a Dooney store. Then run the zipper back and forth and see if it loosens up.
Also be sure the bag isn't over stuffed so the zipper isn't wonky and the leather isn't
pulling/pushing on the zipper.

The wax paper won't hurt the bag or the leather. And you may have to try it a
few times. If the zipper doesn't ease up, after you work it, then it just might be
something that you will have to live with or return the handbag.

Hope this helps.
