Oh Rue, I’m devastated. I loved going to that store. Each time I wenti had it to myself as it was empty sigh. I hope they could open another store in Illinois. If they build it… we would come… at least I would go
One Saturday every month my BFF, cousin and I would go to Dooney. We'd get there about 15 minutes before the outlet opened and park right by Dooney and Coach. After shopping we would have lunch at Mimi's Cafe in Naperville (also permanently closed). We made sure to go during holiday weekends to take advantage of the additional percentages off.

I worked in Warrenville for a few years and sometimes I would run to Dooney on my lunch after I called them and found out they had something I wanted.

When I moved to Oakland Livermore was a reverse commute in the morning. (Traffic was heavy going the opposite way to San Francisco.) It would take an average of 25 minutes to drive there in the morning and I would stay just long enough to give traffic home a chance to let up a little.

Dooney was always my first stop in Livermore. It was our second stop in Aurora because the line to get inside Coach got long quickly. (And we especially didn't want to wait in winter!) We would be in the first group going in the store when it opened.

So sad to hear this. I like to browse there when I’m in town to see family and friends. It seems like you really enjoyed the store as well.
I did really enjoy the Aurora store but unfortunately it’s gone now, but I’m truly grateful to hsve expierenced it while it was open. Oh I have found some great sales and rare items there now I’ll have to go out of state to a dooney store, maybe Vegas or florida or Texas… I can stir order from the outlet store and have my purchases shipped for $8.50 flat rate fee. Via ups. I’ve got a nice box gull of goodies on the way from dooney addict615’s livestream.oh I can’t wait for my goodies. I ordered the penrose2 saddle 22 in emerald sucha beautiful color and nice crossbody. I think I’ll try that one first as I do like my penrose2 messenger25 in taupe a lot. It doesn’t scratch and is smooth. I’m glad to try the saddle22. I tookmymessenger25outonexcursionyesterdzyanditsurvivedmymobilityscooter lol. Wasn’t heavyandimhappywithit. I’m moving out today and moving into a sling as I have therapy this afternoon

Oh yes indeed I would drive out before work to get a few dooney treats. I could never get just one item. I needed at least 2 or more bags to make the trip worth driving that far for. Or the Tara dooney db75 wallet I scored with the Florentine medium mail satchel SAmple. I recently saw dooney girl 75 has the matching db75 leisure bag. Oh I would love that bag to go with my wallet but I know she’s not giving that up

I am so happy I got to go on Memorial Day not thinking it would be the last time that I could go to that store…. All throughout my recover I had been hoping and wishing to go see what’s new in store. Sigh oh well I’ll have to live thru others posting fro the stores near them that are still open…. My box of goodies should arrive Thursday an I hopeican down unboxing for my channel and share my goodies here.

I don't like to hear about Dooney closing stores.... first all the retail boutiques closed,
then the outlets start closing. It doesn't give me warm and fuzzy feeling about the
long term future of the brand. I've tried to understand their business/marketing strategy
for years, and I just can't figure it out. I don't have enough information.

As a loyal and very long term customer, I wish the brand well and hope they
thrive for many, many, many decades to come. Even though my Dooney collection
is large enough to stock a store, I still continue to buy more Dooney handbags.
Here are my latest purchases.....
The bag on the left is the Kendra, in pebbled leather in hot pink.
The bag on the right is the Florentine Convertible Shopper in fuchsia.
The Flo is not really a convertible bag, but I knew that. It has a mag snap
closure and it's mid to large size, but not huge. It makes a good tote/handbag.

One more bag on the way, the Florentine Twist Strap hobo in natural.
I snapped it up on ILD/Ebay for a great price in natural.

Ooh I love the Kendra! So tempting!

I think all brands are closing stores. Retail isn't what it used to be now that everything is available online. It's cheaper for the brand to sell online. Eventually the technology will catch up so shopping online will be just as good as shopping IRL, probably not in my lifetime though.

Everything that I purchased from the Aurora store had authentication labels inside… I’ll see about these items coming from the ct. store on Thursday. Fun fact the large satchel I got on Memorial Day had a ship or date of 2023 on the label…the niceS..a. Went to the back and got my Florentine and canvas factory wrapped from th e back. LOVW her for that. She knew I wasn’t play8ng around once I asked for bags from the back thst were r handled touched and scratched…

I hear you LJ oh I wish I could have seen a dooney retail boutique. I’m do thankful I did get to visit the factory store in Aurora Illinois . The sales and gems I’d been able to find. Thank you to all the sales associates that have gone to the back of the store to get mre a foctory wrapped bag., and give stickers . Ugh I forgot to ask for any stickers when I went Memorial Day…. Sigh. So I’m going to sit down. My box of goodies should arrive tomorrow according to ups. I’m nervous that hubby will complain. I hope everything is a keeper. We will see. I’m off to physical therapy now. I’ve got late appointments today and I slept in late….. weather it’s ugly here today. Hubby. Got my raincoat out. It’s really dark and tornados are dropping across the states none in my area. Thank God.
@lavenderjunkiei love your new treasures. I’m so glad they are keepers. I love the shape of the Kendra. She’s adorable 🥰 your tote looks awesome the colors are giving me spring flowers
Lastly I’m not a fan of the cuts being made asan example no dooney authentication tags inside the bags…and the flat bottom satchel with no leather strips reenfoecing the feet on the bags…… ugh…. Gave mine away new and unused it was beautiful but I wasn’t feelingg the flat bottom ugh. . Geez it’s part of the brand…for this to be dooneys 50 th birthday this year, I’m notseeinganythingspecial…

Some of the outlets are great to deal with to get an order shipped out to you.
Others, don't seem as motivated. But I'm glad we also have the outlets
and the D&B website, and ILD and ILD/Ebay. And some ladies can even
find Dooneys IRL at Dillards. But nothing beats going into a Dooney boutique
during the semi-annual sale or visiting a Dooney outlet.

Wonder what temptations will be during the sales around July 4.
That used to be a big sale weekend. We will see what we find this year.

I’m back with my last DOONEY purchase for the year
All weather leather 3.0 satchel30 in the color caramel. I’m in love with it! It’s number 6 of 106 . Not heavy at all and now I don’t have to worry about ruining my Florentine satchel in wet weather… I wish I could have gotten it in the chamois color but I glad I was able to get a bag in that beautiful chamois color. The mini drawstring17 in the color chamois is an awesome bag. I’m looking forward to the carry of this satchel30 which is in between the mini and smal size
Florentine satchels
I’m so happy the sale was on and the awl3.0 collection was included in the July 4 saleIMG_1140.webpIMG_1139.webpIMG_1144.webp
