I have not offloaded anything in my collection yet - even those I know don't really work well enough to illicit any comment, be it positive or negative. I only have a couple of those but each one is still special to me and I think it would be hard to let them go. Either that or I have a tendency to hoard. [emoji15]

And my sympathies to lost grails! I sometimes look at past sales of scarves I consider grails and think, "Oh, would that that buyer had been me!" And I hope whoever bought it enjoys it as much as I would have. [emoji5]

I once saw the fuchsia cw of Pegase for $250. I had contacted the seller about it with a question and was about to buy it when it sold to someone else. D'oh! Hugs to @Belphoebe and @ksuromax. I feel your pain, scarf sister!

I am a little less frenzied in my scarf buying these days, too. (My god, I think it's been at least two months now! I think I deserve a 2 months sober chip!) I'm a bit more picky now that my own collection offers more than a few options to choose from.

(But I still go on the hunt every single day... [emoji23]The sickness is real!)

I don't have a chip emoji but here's a 2-months-H-sober flower: :flowers:

I earned that flower being very very good all summer, but I fell off the wagon recently, so you are now the more deserving. I go on the hunt every day too. If you think about it, my ratio of looking to buying is pretty high, so maybe I get points for that?

If you ever do happen to unload, someday maybe give a scarf sister a heads up . . . ? ; ) I don't speak my grails aloud, but I confess that my grailliest grail is something you actually own. (I'm kidding about the heads up. You look so great in it that I can't imagine your ever wanting to part with it. When someday I get my own, I'll do a !!!twinsies!!! post.:smile:)

I'm feeling distanced from my H scarves and shawls recently ,I think my eye is finding other aesthetics to distract me away , at least for now.
Being distanced like this has made me wonder about these grails , I still remember the thrill etc but can't imagine why I wanted those specific things now!

Having said that, I should find it difficult to offload them yet.:amazed:
Oh My - someone else that is feeling the same "distancing"-although I love my collection, I keep hearing this nagging voice inside(and esp. each time I buy another), how are you ever going to achieve the minimalism of your wardrobe that you have coveted for 10 yrs? Yet I can't seem to stop even though I say no more!!

I hear you. I go in phases myself, and while I haven't orbited away from my scarves yet, past experience tells me it is wise to proceed slowly. It's about the pleasure of the journey, always! At this point I have only one I would call a grail, and a few would-be-nice-to-have-if-the-price-is-rights. I don't delete things from my wish list but instead cross them out, as a way of tracking my evolving taste. There are a lot that I'm quite glad I didn't find at the time.

And why is it so hard to offload an old grail, I wonder? I looked long and hard for my blue jean De la Mer au Ciel: so beautiful, such wearable colors . . . and I cannot buy a compliment on it, no matter what I do. It forever spurns my suit: I will always be Mr. Collins to its Elizabeth Bennet. And yet I can't let it go.

I am totally addicted, especially to the hunt. I check evilbay every day just for fun. I *think* I have achieved all my grails and, like others here, there are a few "I'd like to have this someday" scarves. But OMG I am a bit overwhelmed by the size of my collection. I guess if I think of it as a collection it's reasonable, but if I think if them as scarves to wear - I HAVE TOO MANY, LOL.

I look back at scarves I coveted years ago but didn't get. What did I like about them? In those days it was mostly the colors. Now it's all about a design that resonates with me in a CW that works for me to wear. I'm not really a collector because there are iconic designs that a true collector would want, that I just don't like.

I've just made a pile of scarves that are all similar color combinations and that have the same effect when tied (or I tend to wear them with the same outfits). So, why keep all of them? Because I really like each design. ACK. This is hopeless!!!

I check EvilBay daily too - what if I miss a bargain? (this - by the way - is what I must stop doing) What if I miss that Grail? I even check the solds to see if I missed something… which is really silly! What am I going to solve doing that? <facepalm>

I have several grails that I watch for, and some I have missed. I would seriously like to know/understand how at the last D@mn second - just when I think 'Woot! It's mine!', it sells to someone else. RAWWWRRRRR!! Anyway…

I look at them as art - I could even frame them if I wanted to! But I love sorting through them, petting them and smoothing them. (they never shed or drool on me either - bonus!) The scarf I'm wearing today is so soft and keeping me warm on a dreary day. There is something to be said for a little bit of beauty and softness in this world.

Having said all that, a sort-of grail is about to arrive in the mail. :panic:
bwahahaa - I can't tell you how much this made me laugh!
I have a sort-of grail coming today as well.

Whoop!
Here it is - Luna Park mousseline

No makeup, working from home this AM, just arrived: les Amazones! I've been looking for the right CW, and this is it. View attachment 3848451

You two are cracking me up because that stage of scarf-love is so fabulous, as are your two beautiful acquisitions! Love that 'grail about to arrive deliciousness so much.
Les Amazones in pink is totally delicious Moma:heart: , and your Mousseline is adorable Cookie fiend.
I realise how far I've slipped when I want to buy simpler non H scarves despite having overflowing scarf drawers . Hope I get reinfected because hunting for those silks was the main reason to get out of bed in the morning !!!!:girlsigh:
