Not at that price!

Actually the price is not too bad if it was the purple or the royal blue colorway. A bit stretch if it was the red. I guess many sellers think every colorway deserves a grail price, I don't agree with that.

How about this grail P de Samourai? Yes it's a grail for some, but really? I should have stocked up lol...

Oh I so agree the P de Samourai price is ludacrus-these are still available at the stores and some cws at their online. I noticed that when the stores and online were still well stocked, someone bought one in each cw and put them on Ebay at a outlandish price. Don't know if they ever sold any

I know, right? I'm all for resellers making a buck--they need to earn a living, and they are crucial to the recirculation of things we want--but if that $750 ebay Turandot is the same one that went for $250 on 1st dibs last week--now with $500 markup--that's frustrating. They're allowed to do it, but I'm allowed to be crabby about it.

To be fair, I have no way of knowing it is the same scarf. It could just be a coincidence. Still, if it is the same scarf, I also feel bad for the original reseller, who is no doubt feeling frustrated too. Them's the breaks, I guess, but, well, drat. Oh well! Back to waiting for a reasonable price!

Pretty sure they're two different scarves. The one in Japan is new with Japanese tag. Hermes scarf price in Japan is so much higher than US and Europe, this is not relevant of course because Turandot is vintage, but that explains some higher prices from Japanese sellers or any seller who acquired their scarves from Hermes boutiques in Japan.
Oh, and don't forget 14% Ebay and Paypal take from sellers.

That's good to know -- I do hope that somebody who loves and wears that scarf is the one who got the $250 bargain.

Ms. kim, you are so helpful on this board, I hope you know how much I value honest, hardworking, and fair resellers, without whom I would not have my collection. If I gripe about what looks like greediness to me sometimes, I do so with the awareness that good resellers have plenty of reasons to complain about greedy buyers who demand refunds for disclosed flaws and otherwise try to shortchange them. And we are all paying our pound of flesh to ebay and most other sites, one way or another, whether directly or through prices inflated to compensate.

We are all working hard. I respect and value their time and effort earning their money, and I respect and value my own. We all need each other to make the market function.:flowers:

That was my initial thinking but after analyzing the same way as Kim, I feel that it SHOULD be two different owners/scarves. Agreed about the price. [ He/she must be reading our input here ]. p/s: Thank goodness I found my one and only last grail just this week  and it ends with " ... carre "
