Yes!! You said it best, moma: "it's all about a design that resonates with me in a CW that works for me to wear." And I disagree that you're not a true collector - you are, it's just that you have discriminating taste and parameters to collecting. [emoji16]
Woo hoo! It's gorgeous on you! I love this design, too.
Ooh, can't to see which plisse you got! I confess that's a style missing from my collection. I'm plisse-curious but not enough to experiment. Maybe I need to go to scarf college, haha.
I mostly peruse sold items for a couple reasons: 1. Photos. If it's a reputable seller, then I might save photos so I can better authenticate later when another opportunity comes along. Plus nice photos of grail scarves make me drool. 2. Pricing. If it was a reasonable price, I fantasize that *I* was the winning bidder. (I confess I might while away a leeetle too much time in this way.) Plus it gives me hope that another opportunity might come along.
I used to pet my csgms too because they were so so soft - until a damn hangnail ever-so-slightly snagged one. Ooh, was i pissed. No more petting for me.
I know, right?! There are so many designs I wasn't able to get from just 2-3 years ago. I didn't realize then that they were unusually wonderful seasons in terms of designs. I thought that every season would offer so many beauties that I'd be in a perpetual state of scarf-arousal but then the current season came along and I got no scarf-gasms. Zip. Zilch. It's true a couple designs were quite nice, but "quite nice" doesn't do it after experiencing the fireworks and meltiness as I did with previous seasons. (Apologies to those loving the current season - it's just different strokes for different folks!)
But as for rules - I had a no dupes rule and max per season rule, too - those have gone out the window, just as you said. Right now only thing that keeps me in check is my budget!
And I love how we look out for each other's grails. But watch out if your grail is also my grail! Then my claws will come out. [emoji23]
