Well, the price of this is in the usual Ex-Lib Kimonos stratosphere [emoji15]. But I've never seen this cw before and it's exquisite. Check out the hits of purple! I've done business with seller several times, I trust her. I thought this was worth sharing.

While checking out MrsWasik's latest acquisition from the seller in France, I checked out the seller's other things -- here goes ladies, http://www.ebay.com/itm/BNIB-HERMES...186254?hash=item33b792d84e:g:5ecAAOSwZLdXPgXq
Not my fave, but there it is. It is a pretty colorway and it says "washed silk" which could either mean vintage or something completely different?

Finally chased down another Grail.
Daïmyo !!!

The jacquard is so lovely and this is my first. It felt slightly lighter than my other 90s though so I weighed it and it came in at 59grams instead of the usual 63-65. Anyone else notice this about jacquards? Maybe because this one has so much less color printing on it that my others?

Congratulations! It's truly beautiful. I think you are right about it weighing slightly less because there is less dye. Just my guess. I have a white with black l'arte d'ecrire and it weighs slightly less than some of my other scarves. At first I thought it wasn't authentic. But I weighed a few scarves and they all vary a bit. I read an article that said that weight and exact size are good ways to tell fakes but in comparing several of mine that I know are authentic I found that they all vary a bit.

I have this c/w BBL and it is so versatile. The vintage silk can be hard to capture in a photograph as it is quite shiny.

Mine goes out a lot with dark denim and is great with dark business outfits too. It's my little charm for tricky situations.

Stunning!

Some other tPFers, head of scarves and I were talking about jacquard weight last week looking at JL and FP Tatoos. I think we concluded it's a perception and not a fact.

Thanks PbP!!
This is my first white scarf [hopefully I can keep it clean! haha] and when I thought about the dye it kind of made sense. However, I must have read the same articles as you regarding the weight..they all said new scarves weight between 62-65 grams or about 2.2 ounces. Well, 59 grams is 2.1 ounces so it is not that far off and the scarf is 25 years old so I assume must have been cleaned at some point which could affect the weight. I did have it authenticated [though not by the ever-knowledgeable MarieT since it was such a great BIN price and I had to act quickly] and it checked out but of course the weight is the one area that a person cannot tell by photos. Funny enough, many of the articles I read that mentioned the weight also mentioned that jacquards are almost never faked due to the complex process and production cost associated with them.

All of my scarves, even those bought directly from H, vary a bit in regards to weight as well but I don't think were as light as this one, even though it's only by a few grams.

Thank you my dear Pirula!!

It could certainly be partially perception. I also thought the new JL tattoo felt a bit lighter when I tried it on in store; again that is a scarf with a predominantly white background. However, in my Daimyo case, I actually weighed it so it was not just perception.

OMG someone bought the blue/orange Turandot for a thousand dollars. There goes the neighborhood!!!

Well, I hope it's not faded like the purple one I bought from the same seller, and returned.

OK Turandot is a great design but not that great. The Asian themed scarves became grails originally because folk in that part of the world were crazy for those designs.
That Turandot wasn't even new and had 'scratches to the rims'. I like the design and have two ,but other scarves in my small collection are nicer and tie better. Each year feeds the Turandot frenzy out of all proportion. These super grails: C'est La Fete , Turandot, La Femme in grey neutral , ELenK are way over the top now.
What's really funny is that some designs get famous by association. I had a thing for Kimonos et Inros years ago and was able to buy them cheaply [ passed them on now as the design looked awful on me] .
But now because it has the Kimonos handle it's fortune has risen tenfold
