OK Turandot is a great design but not that great. The Asian themed scarves became grails originally because folk in that part of the world were crazy for those designs.
That Turandot wasn't even new and had 'scratches to the rims'. I like the design and have two ,but other scarves in my small collection are nicer and tie better. Each year feeds the Turandot frenzy out of all proportion. These super grails: C'est La Fete , Turandot, La Femme in grey neutral , ELenK are way over the top now.
What's really funny is that some designs get famous by association. I had a thing for Kimonos et Inros years ago and was able to buy them cheaply [ passed them on now as the design looked awful on me] .
But now because it has the Kimonos handle it's fortune has risen tenfold
Might be a language issue, frou frou. Almost all of this seller's scarves are in the "scratched rim" category unless they are mint. But the seller uses the same grading table for all stock and has a big inventory of jewellery and bags which could conceivably have scratches. And yes, I too gagged at the Turandot price :faint:

Has the news about the C'est la Fête re-issue made it to this thread yet? I'm so excited!! [emoji16][emoji106][emoji106]

Forgive me if it's already been covered, this thread moves quick [emoji4]

I thought the price was exorbitant for a shawl, but I think this an actual quilt, or something. :confused1:

It shows stitching around pieces.

Interesting. It looks like CSGM with pieces of various silk scarves appliqués on top. I definitely recognize the ExLenK pieces.

now that the site is up again: it is indeed a quilt

It may have been discussed here, but it has definitely been discussed in the Fall 2016 scarves thread. My wallet is already cowering in fear of what the color options might be because I'll probably want them all!

View attachment 3375973 Just received the final addition to my Reve de Corail collection and the intensity of the colourways has me in heaven.

How fantastic that Rêve de Corail is a grail for you , it's so difficult to find now and obviously sought after according to the prices . I remember the red and white sold out so quickly.
I think it's one of AF 's best designs , none of the c'ways seemed right on me at the time but skin tones change over time and who knows now?
This blue and mauve must be the loveliest .
I'd love to see a group shot of your Rêves and a modelling shot of your blue if you feel in the mood !

How lovely of you to say that, frou frou. Rarely do I snap up every colourway of a pattern (if possible), but Reve de Corail spoke to me with its ethereal beauty. However, this particular colourway eluded my grasp. And then a week or so ago, it appeared on the Bay and I grabbed it. I agree; this blue and mauve is the loveliest. Thank you for your comments. I will attempt a group shot.
