Maybe it is the snakes. But the skeleton isn't there. I have a problem with these scarves. I know they were coveted and all; and analyzed to death. But I like my accessories to be pretty and not scary. As I said earlier, to each his/her own. I have my own thing. I adore letters (I was a typesetter) I love scarves that are a bit of history or part of a limited edition, or just pretty and appealing to me. Some, get placed on our wall hanging system as beloved pieces of art and then get replaced when I change my mind, or want to wear what is on the wall!
I think Hermes is brilliant in making designs for all of us. They know how to create a buzz.

Just to let you know, I also find the skeleton scarf as well as everything depicting snakes terrifying. To further complicate buying H scarves, I avoid all the ones with human (like) figures, lol! But, being a bird lover and all scarves with geometric patterns, and like you would love to collect scarves showing letters, there are still an infinite amount of scarves to be tempted by. As you say, there is something for everyone in the huge H world 😃

The one that was previously posted on eBay that we had concerns about price versus condition is back up at a slightly lower price. It is described as new but looks like it has a bit of fuzziness.

Congratulations on finding this grail! Don't worry about a little fuzziness, some Hermes csgm's including this one (because I have it) have some degree of fuzziness even when new from the store. Depends on the cashmere batch, I think, like my new L'Arbre De Vent is somewhat fuzzy when I got it. Also fuzziness shows more on dark colors like black.
You'll love this shawl, it never fails to get compliments and very, very versatile. Enjoy!

The one currently listed on eBay is in reasonable shape. If I didn't already have this exact CSGM, I would not hesitate to purchase this one. It is extremely rare to find this color way and it's one of the very best neutral options ever produced.

Maybe the seller accepts returns if you don't love it? Seton seemed to think it looked a bit bedraggled. I won't repeat her comment which was kind of funny. Do zoom in on the photos on a big screen.
