Omg!!!! About to burst. I woke up this morning to find that a reputable seller with whom I have done business in the past had my holiest Grail- the one I had given up on- and for a fair price. I bought it! My ex Libris cashmere neutral shawl is on its way!!! Faint....

Oh happy day!
You will look fabulous in the Ex Libris , it's so very cool .You found the black/natural?
Hens teeth……..

Heehee. Thanks everyone. Even DH congratulated me on my success. He usually just rolls his eyes.

Yes frou frou the black and natural in excellent condition and from a seller whom I know well and trust. So no ex Libris coloriage for me this season. I'll scratch that off my list. And no Sieste shawl unless it's a late season purchase.

I had to google hen's teeth but it gave me a good laugh. I'll have to try to work that into my general conversation.

Sharing my todays joy. The in US limited MADISON came to Europe, I've hunted for ages ... and the purple border.

Congrats Croisette! The purple border is my favorite CW. I hope to see a mod picture soon;)
I did! I did! I am soooo excited! I was completely prepared to lose and lose BIG what with so many bidders, but surprise! I'm so happy you like it too!

I'm so sorry you missed out on that Turandot. I'll look out for another. I too hope another tpf'er got it then. I completely understand about having a max price in your head and not a shilling more. I'm the same. I just got very lucky this time.

PS: jeez. Good eye on the resewn label!
Congrats Pirula! It is one of my HG's too!!! And, you got it for a steal! I can't wait to see you wear it!!!
I ... I ... I won it! The "Les Toits" I have been stalking! I am almost beside myself! And, I know this isn't everyone's preferred color way (thank God, or I would never have won it) and that burgundy listing that sold almost immediately was gorgeous, but this is my preferred color way. I wear all of the accent colors in this scarf and it will really pop against my solid shirts/jackets/coats. I'm not sure I've ever been as excited about a purchase, except maybe my house. And, ladies, I really felt like you were rooting for me! What a supportive community and I'm so grateful! I'll post mod shots when it arrives; I know it's considered to be a tough tie. Thanks for sharing my joy!
Congratulations! What a find.
This was one of my category 3: maybe someday if I find it for a good price, but if not I'll live scarves. I first saw it and admired it on tango tosca's thread year and a half ago. I never thought I would buy a Gris tortourelle bag at that point. But I did and Tango wore it again recently reigniting my desire for it. The last few that I saw on eBay went for 450 and 600 and there was no way I wanted to pay that. This came up on another site for 200, Brand new with box, crisp and unworn, free shipping. So I couldn't pass it up. I think miss GT met her match.

I actually have a few scarves in the same category coming in the next few weeks. Things I wanted for a while but didn't want to pay a lot for and found for a steal. And with these purchases I took eBay off my devices and stopped trolling for scarves completely. I'll post as they arrive.

Another one eventually on one of my HG lists, too! This CW is so elegant! Especially
With your GT Kelly. You are amazing at find fab H scarves at incredible prices:worthy:

Hi!!! Is it? In same cw?

I posted a couple of weeks back, here it is!! [emoji4]

One of my 3rd tier grails arrived today. I was outbid on a Turandot last week but this was a good consolation prize especially since it was a great deal. First time ordering from Japan and I could not believe it arrived in a week!!

Aube, Libre Comme L'Ange. Zoé Pauwels 2002.

This is fabulous in you BJ! Congrats:cool:
A blizzard version of grails. Yes this is New England, so despite blizzard conditions my mailman made it here with the last of my four purchases made almost two weeks ago. This one came from the far reaches of.... Well Connecticut... But that's another story. Note to self: I should leave the mailman an extra dunkin donuts gift card next weekend.

Anyway back to the scarf. I have a very colorful summer version of ex libris en kimonos. But I found myself yearning for a red blue one. Good red blue scarves without yellow are so hard to find and I do better with rouge Hermes than a cherry red. So red blue exLenK really is it for me. I stupidly resisted the urge to buy one in October right before my Paris trip. Frugality and restraint will get you no where I tell you. I have been looking ever since.

Recently I came across this plisse version. I had been wanting to try a plisse. This is exactly the colorway of exLenK that I wanted. And the price was far less than a 90 ex libris usually costs. So I took a chance.

It took some playing to get it to tie. It's cool. The colors are even prettier than I expected. I'm definitely keeping it. I love it. But I can't say that I'd pass up the regular 90 next time I see it either because the colors truly are exquisite. Here she is. My little gamble.

This looks amazing in a plisse. And, you tie it so well! Is there anything you can't do my friend?
Here you go! Great thread for those wanting to do a scarf top .
Post 40 has all the instructions posted by the lovely Bienchen.
Bienchen is very petite and perfectly formed so it looks great.

Thanks for posting this thread frou frou! I love the idea of wearing scarves as clothing. Maybe I'll get the never someday;)
Here you go. The first two were special reissues for the Opera Carolina, but these were the original cws:
OMG! BBC these are TDF. Thank you so much for posting them for us to drool over...your second one is one of my top HG's. I just don't want to pay $900 for it!!!! If, anyone see's one for a good deal, PLEASE let me know.
I wanted to show the red Turandot in case anyone is considering it.
I paid quite a bit over retail , it never comes up at less and I never regretted it . Unlike the blue I can't imagine wearing it casually , the red is a real statement piece .
This CW makes me so sad I can't wear red's... It is so breathtakingly stunning in you frou frou. I swear you should wear it everyday
I decided to take some group pix of my scarves. This is a pic of the ones I bought on the e bay. Not shown are my 2 seasonal scarves (Neige d'antan and Noel au 24) which had been washed and put away.
I have been relative cautious on my ebay scarves in only buying ones in colors that are "safe" and comfortable for me. That has worked for me in the sense that I have not wanted to return/re-sell any of them

my top grails were:
1. En avant toute! QM2 version
2. Pavements
3. Grand Fonds
4. Noel au 24 Faub.
5. Au Coeur de la vie

this pic includes all of above (except Noel) as well as 2nd tiers:
Oceane rencontre, légende de poisson corail (I do love my fish scarves!)
les parisiennes, reve d'Australie ( I started out wanting Le geographe, but once I saw this one, knew this would be my Australia scarf)
lab de temps and coupons indiennes(originally I had planned to get a more colorful version, but this came up first)

OMG scarf1, you are killing me with your fabulous HG finds:graucho: You have found a couple of my HG's, too!!! When did you get the Pavements?!? That CW along with the lavender CW are at the top of my HG's!!! Anyone that see's them PLEASE let me know!

Hmm, your ban is going well, I see.

part 2 Egyptian Inspiration

I passed over this one for years, so bland with respect to the shiny King Tut, but this is absolutely a workhorse scarf , it goes with everything and is not blindingly busy

part 3 busy Egyptian scarf
There is so much going on in this one that I got it in a busy-cancelling monochrome cw, the cw does not feel especially Egyptian to me, to me Ramses is the ultimate Egyptian cw, while the black King Tut makes me think of the museum setting for the gold mask
Love your 3 Egyptian scarves mariet. Thanks for always inspiring us with your scarves;)
Oh oh -- I found this one
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hermes-Cest...292537?hash=item33b1154239:g:Ms4AAOSwGotWsliy
Although, I am neither a fan of the scarf or the surteint, the latter makes the former easier on my brain.

Honestly, to each, her/his own. My peculiar scarf pattern choices may baffle many, but that is why there is a little something for everyone.
It is so true...to each their own!:roflmfao: I'm not a fan of the C'est in Surrient because I WANT to see the design! I actually find it beautiful in a very unusual way. And, no I'm not
a goth chic...I'm way to old for that:roflmfao: First, I LOVE the symbolism in the scarf! Second, I find the human body amazingly beautiful in all its reincarnation. And, that includes
Skeletons.(OK, I take it back, I don't want to see a corpus!!!) Thirdly, it reminds me of some Victorian jewelry, specifically, mento mori. Which is very beautiful in my eyes, too. But, at times incorporates skulls. Very simply, it is a way of wearing jewelry in Remembrance of a passed on loved one. And, I am very semtimental in that way...Sometimes some of the jewelry is made utilizing the loved ones hair!!! Not my favorite mind you. I could go on & on.
Not that I'm trying to change your mind in anyway. I just felt the need to start to explain some of the reasons C'est is my #1 HG.
have you looked into Caducee Rock ? see hermes web site - under the Mens section

http://usa.hermes.com/la-maison-des...e-30-soie-caducee-rock-prusse-prun-76259.html

Kinda the same design vibe , amazing 3D effect
Thanks for posting this mariet. I'm not a huge snake fan. But, I do LOVE this new design:graucho: Alas, I am banned or it would be mine....
I don't know...
Maybe it is the snakes. But the skeleton isn't there. I have a problem with these scarves. I know they were coveted and all; and analyzed to death. But I like my accessories to be pretty and not scary. As I said earlier, to each his/her own. I have my own thing. I adore letters (I was a typesetter) I love scarves that are a bit of history or part of a limited edition, or just pretty and appealing to me. Some, get placed on our wall hanging system as beloved pieces of art and then get replaced when I change my mind, or want to wear what is on the wall!
I think Hermes is brilliant in making designs for all of us. They know how to create a buzz.

Bbl
FYI, see my response above. I love limited edition, too. And, I always have a scarf hanging on my wall. Right now it is one of my favorites from 2015 Sieste:graucho: It is cool you are into the letters scarves. But, that isn't my thing.
Re Ciels Byzantins in mousse
Full disclosure , I dont own this, but am drolling over this 45cm mousse

It was recently for sale on Ebay and may still be there , ab fab

That is too funny! I was drooling over the same scarf! It may still be there...Ban's and being broke stink!!!

I bought this for my DH and it is stunning. I steal it a lot
I remember you posting it on another thread QF. Would you PLEASE post them here, too;)
I stumbled upon a Scarab scarf at the bay and thought about you Ladies immediately:

Thanks! Yeah, I have to admit, the cornflower blue hem makes me giddy. [emoji12]

I'm glad you're back! Please be back for awhile! I'm banned for Lent and need all the help I can get!

It's such a great scarf. I love the 100 cm size, it's just enough more than a 90 to "wrap" and it's cashmere/silk. The prune is a nice, versatile browny purple (you can wear it with black) and the design is really cool. The scarf is currently in custody of my DH...as soon as I am back from this trip I will take photos.
