Oh oh -- I found this one

Although, I am neither a fan of the scarf or the surteint, the latter makes the former easier on my brain.

Honestly, to each, her/his own. My peculiar scarf pattern choices may baffle many, but that is why there is a little something for everyone.
have you looked into Caducee Rock ? see hermes web site - under the Mens section

Kinda the same design vibe , amazing 3D effect

part 2 Egyptian Inspiration

I passed over this one for years, so bland with respect to the shiny King Tut, but this is absolutely a workhorse scarf , it goes with everything and is not blindingly busy

Ramses is unusual - it is exactly the same year as the design of King Tut - totally different vibe though and much less well known

The little stone dude - albaster ? does look out of place next to the colored motifs

But he is cool nonetheless - look at his wig on either side - there are chips in the stone, somehow it is derived from a photo , I assume it is of Ramses II ? but have not verified that

The alabaster statue is amazingly accurate - an amazing job on the screens for this scarf

I don't know...
Maybe it is the snakes. But the skeleton isn't there. I have a problem with these scarves. I know they were coveted and all; and analyzed to death. But I like my accessories to be pretty and not scary. As I said earlier, to each his/her own. I have my own thing. I adore letters (I was a typesetter) I love scarves that are a bit of history or part of a limited edition, or just pretty and appealing to me. Some, get placed on our wall hanging system as beloved pieces of art and then get replaced when I change my mind, or want to wear what is on the wall!
I think Hermes is brilliant in making designs for all of us. They know how to create a buzz.

I believe that is Ramses the Great (Ramses II). Looks like him. He's also the default Ramses when one hears or sees "Ramses."

I don't think it is alabaster. It could be white alabaster. It's hard to tell. It's a fantastic reproduction on silk. Out of place or not, you almost want to reach for it, it's so realistic.

I really do like that Tresors du Nile. May have to seek one out when I'm shopping again.

Bedhead, I agree about to each his own. Especially with the amazing variety and selection of designs from Hermés. No one could love them all.

Ramses reminds me of Roman era cartonnage ( read paper mache , not gold ) sarcophagi

Ha! Yes indeed.

Oh fine! Then give us a sphinx and a Sekhmet!

I'm not absolutely sure, but I do believe your Tresors du Nile has the Nefertiti scarab symbol. Must research....

Thoroughly enjoying the Egyptology discussion, ladies! I want all the scarves AND the tourist trash bust. :amuse:

Ha! I'm so glad you like it! Here's a little more!

Canopic jars. Used for the organs removed during mummification. Each holds a specific organ always. But I need to refresh my memory on which is which. These aren't real of course. The real are much larger:

Shabti. Funereal figures placed in tombs and meant to act like servants to the spirit. More WW I era tourist trash:

And an old David Roberts print of the Great Hyposytle Hall in the Temple of Karnak.

To stay on topic, that "room" and one other at Karnak are the reasons why I have to have Chevaux de Karnak as a Grail. Thanks to dear Bedhead, it's on its way!

Jerusalem scarves, Triomphe du paladin is a byzantine themed scarf - about St George & his dragon

Not my best photographic effort - the field is really a straight pink - not lilac , and it looks dull in the photos of the bias folded scarf since I have not cropped out the beige carpet yet, even a beige background can distort colors

Love, love, love the jewel border
