This is one in tier 4. Impulsive buy. Good price. I saw tango Tosca wearing it in the past few weeks. Hers is slightly different but this can also do Christmassy or just wintery depending on how you fold it. View attachment 3222932

This is really pretty, PbP -- it's a nice color and you'll get good use out of it. I've been very happy with my Christmas seasonal scarves (Noel au Faubourg in apricot, Neige d'Antan in green, NdA Detail jacquard in burgundy/deep red) I've also got a navy Joies d'Hiver jacquard that I don't wear much (because navy -- I'm just happier in black & brown). Since I wear scarves more in winter, it makes sense to have some festive ones for the holidays -- they get worn relatively more when you figure that "scarf season" is really only 6 months or less where I am.

My favourite silk of all comes out at Christmas , a grail of grails for me , red Turandot.
I've wanted a second c'way for ages and have a shortlist of colours I'd like :
The blue and orange  would be lovely .

I don't really have proper grails , just obsessions that can suddenly disappear to make way for a new one .

Beautiful, frou frou -- perfect for you! Let's see more of Turandot in 2016!!

That is appreciate Christmas collection. Why am I not surprised?

ABQ, your collection is obviously well curated. I can feel your experience and thought in all your posts. I am hoping to get to that point also. First comes random buying on impulse, or from great enabling pix here. :graucho: Then awareness of which scarves I am always reaching for and which ones I rarely wear, and figuring out why. Color, design, tying ability, getting compliments when worn? I am over the initial frenzy (of about 7 years!) and now letting go of stuff.

I have a few scarves that are weird, but I don't care, like the PINK Plumes et Grelots - (pink in winter??). And there are still scarves I want someday (Gloires de Guillaume and Les Normands, Gloire de la Cuisine Francaise, etc.) and CWs that need replacing (Attelages, Confort en Automobile especially). No rush. There are budget concerns, plus all the new scarves every season!

And I just realized I need more black scarves LOL.

I like this thread.

Lord let me get to the saturation point. And soon. [emoji120]🏻[emoji120]🏻[emoji120]🏻
Ok, maybe I am not at the saturation point. I haven't bought anything off eBay in several months, but I just checked my excel spreadsheet and discovered I bought way more scarves during 2015 than I realized...I keep saying I will only buy 1 or 2 per season, but I have NEVER made that goal!!

Uh oh. This does not bode well for me, as I have made the same goal for SS/2016.

I'm with ya on the saturation point, PbP! :lolots::rofl::roflmfao:

Noooo! You are all perfect the way you are
You know there are all sorts of economies you can use in the home …bread and water and sell the furniture but don't cut back on scarves!
You will miss bargains on the Bay .
You will miss lots of grails[ [Pirula you hear?]

And this thread which has risen like the proverbial phoenix will sink into ashes .
Oh ….anyone planning on a Mythiques Phoenix this season?
Sooo beautiful...

Oh my! My first H Carre was an AF and I'm still drawn to her designs. I got myself a reissue Jardins d'Hiver for Christmas, and I finally found my HG brown/red Aux Pays des Epices!

And the Noir/violine/vert absinthe, too! (Interesting how when you find one, another just shows up) I like how you can tie it to show or hide the chili border.

Twins with you on the noir/violine/vert absinthe version.
Thank you for encouraging me to revisit this lovely scarf.
Both color ways really flatter you.

I am just happy to know that I'm not the only one who keeps a spreadsheet to keep track of scarf purchases! :D

Oh frou frou. You are cracking me up. DH thinks I have lost my mind. I'm not sure he's wrong. I'm up to 74 in less than two years. But say it with me.... Twillies don't count! A friend who is a shrink says all people with disposable income have hobbies and collections are reasonable hobbies. I'm going with that theory.

I am just happy to know that I'm not the only one who keeps a spreadsheet to keep track of scarf purchases! :D

Oh good. I'm thinking of starting a spreadsheet too. so I'm not the only nut. Or maybe we have all lost our minds together.

Twillies are so small and take up little space, so they don't count for sure.
I look upon my hobby [LOL ] as the next stage on from stamp collecting . The package dropping through th letterbox is just bigger with silks , and you have to pay for it yourself which is a bit of a bummer.
Also a wise investment compared to bonds: and I mean that cos I see more banking problems looming…but that's off topic !

Oh yes, my handbags have increased in value far more than my stocks and bonds. As Carrie Bradshaw once said "I like my money right where I can see it. In my closet."

But I'm done with grails but one, remember?

I think I may have reached saturation actually. Just had an odd experience: another of my YoI "eventuals" is available at an obscenely low price and.....nothing. I feel nothing. Certainly no urge to get it. Though I do still think it's lovely. But goodness! Two scarves for Christmas from the boys and one enroute from my father selected by me (which note: caused zero hesitation). So yeah. Saturation. For now.

But never fear; Savana Dance will fix that! [emoji4]
