Oh my! My first H Carre was an AF and I'm still drawn to her designs. I got myself a reissue Jardins d'Hiver for Christmas, and I finally found my HG brown/red Aux Pays des Epices!

And the Noir/violine/vert absinthe, too! (Interesting how when you find one, another just shows up) I like how you can tie it to show or hide the chili border.

Beautiful ABQ. I can see why they were grails for you. Congratulations.

Pirula Beautiful and the coral red is going to be great on you .Annie Faivre designs are always heart stoppingly lovely .I especially like the ones that refer to Myths , like this and Les Legendes de L'Arbre for example.

Do model it soon !

What is The One Impossible Dream ???? You have a great way of sourcing your grails so I'm sure you'll find it soon .

Oh I just noted your question! Alas, the Impossible Dream is the pink Coupons Indiens from Year of India. I've not seen it, but I can be patient. What choice does one have? [emoji18]

Congratulations on the new brown and red Aux Payes des Epices, ABQ! Twins with you! Isn't that a wonderful shade of brown? So rich. I know you'll just love it.

Not a Grail, since I only have the one Impossible Dream left, but this is definitely a high ranking "eventual" thanks to Lanit and Arabesques. My elderly father finds it easier to send money so this is my Christmas present from him. The Boy helped me choose between this or Les Ailes. He liked this the best and the remaining Les Ailes cws added nothing new to my collection (thanks to my beautiful new Manufacure de Boucleries in particular! [emoji6]).

So here she is!:

What a wonderful Christmas addition to your collection! Congratulations!

$330? You must be smoking something, BJS! I'd love to find a C'est la Fete for less than $450, including when it first came out in 2012 -- it just couldn't be found in stores. Maybe because it was in the men's line? I don't know -- there was a lot of excitement when it was spotted on the runway and the search took off from there. It's only a 70cm, so I'd hope to see it come down to a realistic vintage silk price.
Mine is graphite and I love it but I've admired the paler versions as well. I like it in combinations as a commentary...here with S/S 69 F/W 70 pondering the transient nature of fashion:

What a darling picture! And I'm glad you finally found your Napoleon. It looks great on you.

This is one in tier 4. Impulsive buy. Good price. I saw tango Tosca wearing it in the past few weeks. Hers is slightly different but this can also do Christmassy or just wintery depending on how you fold it. And now I'm on ban from eBay purchases. eBay is so dangerous. I'm going back to In store purchases only and because my store is a 2 hr drive I hope that will cut down on my purchases. View attachment 3222932

YAAAAY Pocketbook Pup!! :woohoo: Clap clap clap!!! Your new Neige looks exquisite! At a glance it looks as though the only difference between our cws is your berries are red and mine are white. I'm so happy you found one, and you'll get so much good out of it the rest of this winter.

Oh good for you! Two perfect turandot. That's great. Yes navy is perfect. The lighter blue is a bit of a chameleon color that can pick up many different blues. Let me see if I have a photo of it with my Chanel jacket. Well not wearing it but here on the hanger. It would look lovely with a white silk blouse to pick up the white flowers as well.

THIS IS GORGEOUS :faint:

Thank you Tango. You inspired me on the neige and my new printemps ete 69 automne hiver 70.

Thanks, Tango! You might well have been the inspiration for the red/brown version ( I'll call mine "chili" rather than "gumbo"), but I'm known to be a fool for brown (and black) scarves! The absinthe green cw is really great too -- I've gotten several green scarves this year, but this is special. I'm glad it looks okay on me, as I was a little worried until it arrived.

Dear frou frou, do you have this one? (The Mythes et Metamorphoses). I can totally see you in it...

Thank you for looking for me! It's definitely pink and orange, the 90. I'll find a pic....

Yes, I thought it was that colouration. Here we don't have the plethora of consignment options as you have in US, but you never know ….I'll PM you should I see it.
The coral red M et M did come home with me but it didn't work with my hair, clothes for some reason . I can't put my finger on why some patterns work and others don't but when MYH described her preference for larger sized patterns but not huge , I thought 'yes that's me' , and now I think I go more for abstract non figurative designs.
I really do love the design , it's her most beautiful, and for me you chose the best colour, do show us!

Thank you frou frou! I am most grateful for your help and sweet compliments.

That's so interesting about pattern sizes not suiting. I've read it before here and am very curious about it because it's something I don't see yet. To my eye, they all work, just differently. Not just on me, but everyone. I'm clearly mistaken and I think this will come as a sudden epiphany to me one day. The only scale "issue" I seem to have is the larger designs in large formats. I find them overwhelming. So I adore Zebra Pegasus and Beloved India for example, but they'd drown me in larger formats. Same with the crane in Ex-Lib Kimonos. But on others it seems to work.

I admire your discernment.

But i'm anything but discerning ,and I don't think you're mistaken in your perception at all , you always choose things that suit you and have the sense to go for the grails you love all of which are simply gorgeous .
I have butterflied around all sorts of styles and formats, and am still not really sure what really suit me.
In the end it's what I feel comfortable in .
Because for me my scarf should feel like a second skin.
I suppose because I like dressing very simply the plainer [ that can't be Hermès LOL but KWIM] designs work best .
Mousselines aren't great for me,and the CSGMs have proved to be my most used items.

But you always look so fabulous and comfortable in your scarves, so you know what you're doing. Certainly from our vantage point you do! Experience I suppose. Thank you, I'm glad you think I choose well. I too just buy what I love and think will work, but I've been lucky with my son's choices too!
