On my, I adore that vintage 28. I remember seeing it on the website on my way down to Tysons and I just had to have it. For me, well I started college in 1970 with aspirations of being a fashion illustrator. These girls were just my style of illustration ☺ and the scarf screamed to me. I was so happy to have found it. I have probably never taken it out of its box.
Bbl
What a story. But.....why not wear it?

Related to Napoleon is a scarf I'd like to have someday (what do we call these? third-tier grails? Scarves of interest? LOL) is Voltaire or Sans Souci. Nice historical/architectural details. Two very different backgrounds, though, one with a big sunburst, one more modest. Is anyone else interested in this scarf, or have mod shots? Or has figured out which background is best?

This thread is moving so fast, I think I missed a Napoleon discussion. Beekmanhill - is this the navy or black border? I like it. I searched for the right Napoleon (there are a lot of CWS I don't like at all!) and finally found it. For me it's the gray bordered one. Gray is my new obsession! And the red and the teal waistcoats are great. Here's the only picture I can find on my laptop:

Mine has the navy border. At one time, I bought only predominantly navy scarves. I'm beginning to discover gray now too. I always thought it would wash me out, but it doesn't. I love your Napoleon.

How unusual! I never realised it came in grey also , and it certainly is a special grail .
It looks so good on you.

Mine is the one you probably don't like , red/orange with ditto waistcoats and emerald green . I was totally indiscriminate back then , and always having loved orange I went for it . I still love it but yours is so much easier to wear .

Haha! They're called "eventuals." [emoji3]

Gorgeous Napoleon momasaurus! Adore the gray. This is cw I'd go for.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all! [emoji319]

Yes I call them maybe somedays. Third tier for me. Things come into and leave that level quite often.

So there is
Tier one- I must have this at all costs come hell or high water
Tier two- I hope it shows up someday and isn't completely ridiculously priced but I'd probably buy it even if it was
Tier three- maybe someday I'd like to have one of these- a very fluid tier
Tier four- I was an impulsive fool and just bought this but deep down I know I really always wanted it, really

I got it! The highest of my grails. You guys will probably be like huh? But I wanted it from the moment I saw it. I think on tango tosca.

I had an older sister when I was young back in the late 60s early 70s. I idolized and adored her like all little sisters do. She was pretty and smart and sweet. And she wore the coolest outfits. Just like the girls in printemps ete 69 automne hiver 70. And of course it had to include Colvert.

That is gorgeous. I can see why it achieved grail status.

This is the best c/w of Napoleon I've seen as well. Grey is the best...so neutral and not at all harsh like black can be. Perfection, MomaS!

This pretty much sums it up perfectly!

I moved. In February. I finally unpacked the orange boxes when I could find a place to put some of them. I live a life where we rarely go out. I guess the collection reminds me of many years of squirreling away treasures and not reaching for them when I would go out. I really like 28s, too, because the are a neat and tidy tie.
Hmm. Maybe, in the next few weeks... And, I may post some photos.

Mele Kalikimaka. A very merry Christmas to all of you.

Moma, I have had Napoleon on my silkie list for a long time in the light pink cw. Also love this one very much. Have not seen it before but it looks so wearable! I too love gray and may add this someday. So many scarves that are nice to have. So little money left on the tree after the kids are taken care of. Wish I had done more hoarding when we were a tink couple. Sigh.

That so funny, and so sad. You need another one! Yes Pirula has an incredible eye.

Congrats! Absolutely gorgeous on you dear Pocketbook pup! Perfect to go with GT:graucho:

Why isn't Pirula helping me find my HG?!? Oh Pirula....

I was thinking the same thing MYH:roflmfao: PbP and Pirula are on a HG roll:graucho::cool:

I totally agree with you about the design frou frou. I hope someday I will own one of them!

You poor thing perfumegirl!!! Though it did make me laugh...You need another one dear!

Unfortunately I have so many older scarves on my nice to have wish list - I guess they would be considered third tier grails or so according to Pocketbook Pup - that it is hard to justify buying another one even though I know I'd use it. I promised dh that I'd limit my evilbay purchases to one per quarter. In the meantime, i will just admire Pocket's scarf. And, I also have my hot pink la femme to tide me over though some days a quieter color would be nice too.

PbP - your grail tier thinking is spot on! And gave me quite a chuckle too. Thanks for the humor. Don't know what we'd do without you on tpf. :hugs:
