Would you purchase a 2nd hand/used LV?

Absolutely I would. You can find some pretty Like New bags that have been used maybe a month or two on Ebay, so...just gotta be patient, and picky.

no I like the look and smell of having brand new. and like knowing that Im he first to actually handle my items. Feels good to come out of the mall with a Louis Bag

Yes and I have (discontinued pieces only). I always take condition into account. Of course, I wouldn't buy a grody bag, but if I see a piece I like that I've always wanted in excellent condition, I definitely would (and have) bought bags secondhand.
From resellers, I've gotten:

Baby Blue Vernis Lexington (which I have since resold)

and a few accessories (Cles, Inclusions, etc.) as well.

I would only buy a used bag if I can examine it myself. So I would only buy a used bag in excellent condition and from a reputable secondhand store (There are a few in SF, CA).

I voted no. Whenever I purchase a bag from the boutique, I am delighted that it is brand new and proud to be the first owner. I love the smell of new bags.

For those of us living in Europe- the concern is paying Customs Duty (tax on the postage)... as most of the stuff seems to be from the US.

Also, I really cannot stress how nice it is to plan a trip to the actual shop- yes, I do just wander in quite a lot, and I only impulse-buy accessories.

If I plan to purchase something, (which I do)-- I like to make it special. Its like my own "Breakfast at Tiffany's" time. I like to get dressed up, go to a nice lunch at a good restaurant before---and then go in and try out a few things.

And then, when I do purchase something I get this absolute major high! (It really is like that feeling when you first fall in love!) My heart just does this ka-thump!

It is the best rush and also with a lovely treat that I can enjoy for a long time Going into a new shop is especially fun!

For me, No. My LV purchases are my personal treats for the achievements I made. Thus, my LV purchase has to be the best and brand new. I just love the smell of a New LV Bag. Besides, who knows what the previous owner put inside that bag. Though, I also respect those who would rather buy a used LV for some reasons. It is really just a matter of personal choice and special circumstances.

It would depend on the item. For items available in the current LV catalog, I would purchase at the store. For a discontinued item or a past LE, I would certainly go the pre-loved route.

I see nothing wrong with pre-loved bags They're not all "disgusting and smelly".. sure, it's nice to purchase straight from the boutique, but if I can get a nice looking bag for half the retail price I'd take that one and put the rest of the money towards something else..
