why do you like Coach items and is it considered mid-end or high end brand?

As again it would be subjective. As a personal opinion, I will classified Coach as a mid range product in USA. However in Asia countries especially in Japan, Coach is way too overprice. Once my Japanese friend was so shocked at the price of my Coach bag that she commented that Japanese will not believe that this bag is a real Coach bag.

I own a ton of Coach, but I also own MJ and Kate Spade, Cole Haan and Donna Karen and what it really comes down to with me is the quality I can get for my money. I love Coach they are consist and worth my money. I have never had a Coach break or fall apart. I consider them the same quality as any of my other bags. I don't love that they cost what they do. I have picked up many bags in the same league and those that cost more and found flaws or other things...so sometimes it is just the name you are paying for. I do agree that sometimes it is quality you are paying for. I love my MJ I own 4 but I still love my coach.

I like Coach because there is a nice blend of "classic" and "fashion."

I think within the Coach brand they run from "beginner" to "high end."
They do it well - look at the Legacy line - you got the Demi and you got the Mandy. The quality is the same if you are buying the $168 bag or the $698 bag. (Not to say a small bag is a beginner bag for the folks who love small bags! And not to say price makes something high end - but they do also try with exotic materials in some designs.)

I think that Coach is affordable and probably low-end of designer bags. The reason I say that is because:

1. There are outlets in almost every single major city.
2. They send discount coupons for their retail stores.

Low-End - Coach, Kenneth Cold
Mid - Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs
High - Hermes

With me it isn't about the price, it is about brand positioning, availability, and brand recognition. Very few people know about my Marc Jacobs bag, but everyone knows my LVs.

I really want a gold Carly bag, but I am hesitant because I am afraid to invest the $350 without a coupon or from an outlet store.

I consider a trip to the boutique a high end experience. The customer service, the prices...is a different experience than going to the outlet. The outlet is fun and a great way to get a good bag for a better price. It's kind of hit or miss at the outlet. Often stuff I like from the Coach website doens't make its way to my outlet. So I don't think I could say Coach in general is one or the other.

i think coach is mid in the US, I consider low end things like...fossil, liz claiborne, nine west, xoxo, guess, no brand bags etc. I kind of determine the hierarchy by price, like low-end is brands with most bags under 100, mid is 100-500, high is 500-1500 and exculsive over 1500
I just dont see how coach is low-end because to me low-end is something easily reachable by most people and most people can't afford coach or think it's insanely expensive.

I agree with everyone who says Coach is sort of like a bridge to other higher-end labels. I'm not a big fan of a lot of their bags, but the ones that I do love... I love :smile1: I'm not too crazy of their more "trendy" bags, but I love their classic, everyday-use bags because you can use them for school or a night out. I'm not a "label whore", so I don't care too much about the brand, but I'm very picky about the style of the bag. I always go back to Coach just because I need everyday-use bags more than I need trendy, expensive bags. I would be heart-broken if one of my Coach bags got messed up... but if it were one of my Gucci's or LV's... I think I would collapse in a puddle of misery on the floor.

I love because Coach is nice but affordable... but it's definitely not high-end.

Last fall I got my first LV (a speedy) and love it to death, it is a great bag. Prior to that, I only owned Coaches, and I guess I did see it as a "bridge" at the time to more expensive designers. However, I am still paying off that speedy and feel a twinge of guilt about it everyday. It is a great bag, but I don't think I will be buying another LV anytime soon. To begin with, everyone just assumes it is fake because I am only 23 and definitely not rich. Secondly, I think about how I could have gotten 2, maybe even 3 Coach bags with what I spent for one LV. Another thing is, I love collecting bags, so regardless of the bag I get (Coach, LV, whatever else), I will get the itch to buy another one no more than 6 months down the road, so it is sort of silly for me to spend $600 on a bag when I know it will not keep me satisfied any longer than a $200 purse would.

That said, my next bag will be a Coach.

I think that COACH thinks they're high-end. I do love their stuff, but over the last few years their prices have increased quite a bit - personally, I'd rather spend the money on Fendi or LV.

However, everyone has their favorite designers and if you like something and are willing to spend the money to get it, then go for it! It's a matter of personal preferance and opinion all the way around.

definitely low to middle as far as designer bags go, but I LOVE them!!! they are very very popular in the US, and there's such a broad price range on Coach stuff, that most people who want Coach can afford something, it's very all american
