why do you like Coach items and is it considered mid-end or high end brand?

yes gucci is common in italy...but that doesnt make it on the same calibur as coach! thats just wrong...the quality of material and caliber of designers are immensely off

and i dont care WHERE Youre at!!!

Agreed gucci is "lower" than hermes, but i think those two are closer than gucci and coach are

again thats just my opinion! I sure as hell dont spend 900+ on bags that are "common" hahahah :) and the only reason im so into gucci is because not many people carry them and its a showstopper when u do spot one because mostly in az you see lv's, chanels and coaches...and a few sprinkled guccis

:) whatever, to each its own i love my gucci no matter what you guys compare it to!! so booo yaaaa (im being sarcastic not *****y, so just chill ;) hehe)

everything MUST be put into context. period.

and i do agree with b4b. you're talking about gucci in the us- of course it's not as common. same with coach outside the us, you just don't see it. but if you go to the country where that brand is popular, of COURSE you're going to see it there. it's no surprise you see coach all over the us.

luvednotspoiled, i can see why you're getting upset...but still...put things in context. no one is attacking your gucci.

haha you guys seriously!!! im not getting worked up or anything...dare i say it? at the end of the day ITS JUST A BAG!!!

no way no how am i going to get upset at anything about a material possession silly goose!!! :) i was just sharing my viewpoint! I thought she was comparing brands, not accessibility? get it? like she was saying coach=gucci! and in my mind that is not so :)

but of course shes/or you are allowed to think so (just be prepared for a fueled debate ;) )

:) (and oh yeah....SMILE ;) it looks good on u)

This topic comes up fairly often. Does it really matter?

It apparently does! And, to those who ask and those who want to know . . . based on your income (not your inheritance, and not your parents income) are you Middle Class or High End? Or, hoping to be . . . (not you handbaghelen, just quoting you)

trust me, i'm not getting worked up over this. you would know it if i was! ;)

you just seem a bit, eh, charged about it. that's all.

Agreed.

Also, it depends on where you live, when referencing even the US... I see LV & Gucci everywhere around here, Coach is a bit more few & far between. I see a small amount of the Coach leather goods, but then the younger generation seems to be enjoying a large amount of the signature items. However, when we were 30 minutes up the road the yesterday for a motorcycle event... when we stopped in the town for lunch, there wasn't a Coach or a Gucci or a LV to be found! (Except for my lovely Pond Shoulder bag. ;) )

Once again, I must add - go for what you love!! I have a Legacy leather item that I love, and also a Medium signature carryall that I adore... so while we could debate marketing terms and platforms all day, I do agree at the end of the day - they are all luxury items that you should buy what you  ....

On a side note... apparently I am getting old and go to bed before everyone else!! :p

Well right now in my life, Coach is a high end brand for me. I guess in the long run after looking at all the other brands out there, I could see it as a mid-end, but like everyone has said, it's all about what you can afford and what you like. I LOVE Coaches designs most of the time. Some of the high end stuff like LV and Hermes, wouldn't touch those hideous things with a 100' pole. ;P

Couldn't have put it better myself, Candy! I'd choose a Coach Legacy Stripe scarf over one of the really off the wall crazy wild-patterned Hermés scarves any day. LOL.

And your Carly is BREATHTAKING. I'm drooling.

It's all relative.

In the end, it's a luxury to be able to own these lovely brands. We're lucky that we can drop the money we can on the purses we love. It doesn't matter if it's "high end" or "low end". If you love it, and you can afford it and still live comfortably, be happy!

Honestly, it does work everybody up to some degree! People do take things personally. Perhaps because it feels attacking, when others make subtle or obvious derrogatory comments about personal choices, preferences, or hint at economic status. Don't forget to thank the cow!

depends on your perspective. to someone who may not have the means to afford them, they are high end. to someone who only buys Hermes, they are not.

I agree. When I was younger and in college..lol...Coach was high end for me. I thought anyone carrying one was wealthy...lol. Now I'd consider it to be mid-range or lower range even. It's still one of the best brands no matter what and their bags are beautiful! The quality you get for your money is wonderful!

LOL that was really great, though! :roflmfao:

It seriously did... I read it, and for a moment, I was back in my Modern Physics class... the one where my professor would stand in front of the class, shaking his head, saying "It's all relative, people. I don't know what's so hard to understand." And i'd be thinking to myself... EVERYTHING!!! :confused1: Crazy man... jk! That class was a B*T*H (excuse my language, I apologize) though...

Lol... this made me think of Einstein's Theory of Relativity...

... Sorry for my moment of randomness mixed with nerdiness... haha... :sweatdrop:

I'm glad I could make you laugh! :D

It's just something I had to comment on, because (even on an internet message board!) it's no fun to be looked down on. I was reading one of the threads here and a lot of women were saying they'd NEVER carry a Coach. I feel blessed that I can put a bit of my income towards things that aren't "necessary" (of course, I think purses are necessary! But I digress...).
