And then for anyone wondering what that big old turkey on the Turkey Scarf looked like before he got that big???--I literally bought two baby turkeys Saturday in honor of my Silkie-Scarfie friends, and the Texas Turkey Scarf! My dh just shook his head. They are in an aquarium in my service porch until I figure something out... If you have never seen a baby turkey, this is Gobble. His brother's name is Gobble too! Pets. So happy.

Green acres is the place for me.
Farm livin' is the life for me.
Land spreadin' out so far and wide
Keep Manhattan, just give me that countryside
:tender:

Sparkles, dah-ling, please give us an account of all the critters that call your place home. Let's see, there's Puff, his brother, Gobble, Gobble, the 17 Longhorns, the wolves...

And the turtle scarf : De Madras à Zanthykos img11.hostingpics.net/pics/63490520120207145142.jpg

Have a nice day !

sophieg, thank you! We are cousins with Cavaliers, I snagged a new-to-me 90cm that I have yet to wear. The design/cw really called me, despite my vow limit my silk intake (hahahaha)!
Thank you, textilegirl! The cotton Lalbhai looks great on you!

Sophieg: perfect flower knot and these colours are great on you.
Thank you, Bienchen. Your Cachemire flower knot is lovely too :smile1:

Great scarf styling Sophie. Tres chic.
Thank you, fritillaryB!

Sophieg - great color against that red jacket.
Thanks, Maedi!

SophiaG and Bienchen - Lovely red "flowers," both of you! I adore the flower knot effect.
Thank you, TangoTosca, and thanks for picking red as the first color week :smile1:

I wore my Nuees Imaginaire mousseline. I took this in my car, and it's a bit washed out. It's really a very vivid color with 3 or 4 reds plus the corail, and the other colors really pop against the reds. Hopefully I can take a better picture soon!!

Everyone is looking oh so chic and gorgeous!!
And you look fabulous in that mousseline, Euridice! Great, bright colors!

You have a lovely collection, Imoline! I hadn't seen L'Arbre de Vie in red before - it looks fantastic on you

imoline you are quite the Lady in Red! I loved seeing your Quadrige in a different colourway from my own and of maedi's - the strong lines of the design really suit bold colours. However, the dark pink/red L'Arbre de Vie is my favourite here: what a wonderful shade from the many hues of RED!

Have we any other red maniacs who post here? It's lovely to associate personalities with particular shades - such as turquoise pierina, pink ScarfAddict, purple VnSoie, green Gollygwhizz (missing you here - please come out to play!)

One from the archives - L'Pegase silk in the red colorway - I nearly gave her up a couple of times and the bright colored wings keep cheering me on.

Lanit, like TangoTosca, iris j and ladybaga, you defy a single colour affiliation! You are one of our multi-coloured dreamcoat contributors: your posts can be relied on for a shot of style as much as the possibility of absolutely anything from the spectrum.

This Pegasus is a case in point - you have tamed that scarf. It has such drama in its subject matter and colour combining that it could wear others, whereas YOU wear IT!

My contribution for the week: Cavaliers D'Or gavroche in a flower knot. It was too warm for anything else...

The folds of this little burgundy classic really play to your wonderful curls. Lovely colour pairing with your neutral jacket.

I can't imagine not being able to wear a scarf due to rising temperatures here in March. However, it is 16 degrees C in my neck of the British woods today: heaven-sent warmth for us at this time of year.

If I could just be a bother and ask one quick question about those bird scarves...were those African swallows or Asian swallows?

Stop that! It's silly! :p

S #1: It's a simple question of weight ratios! A five ounce bird could not carry a one pound coconut.
S #2: It could be carried by an African swallow!
S #1: Oh, yeah, an African swallow maybe, but not a European swallow.
S #1: But then of course a-- African swallows are non-migratory.
S #2: Oh, yeah...
S #1: So they couldn't bring a coconut back anyway...

Now go bring me a shrubbery, VnSoie, or I shall be forced to say "Ni" again. One that looks nice. And not too expensive.

I'm loving Red week so far! Yesterday I wore one of the Forgotten 24 - Hola Flamenca in red/black/white.

I wrote about this on my thread here, but I'm now undertaking the TangoTosca Spring 2012 Challenge - wearing the 24 scarves I haven't worn since 2011 before indulging myself again repeats. Now, considering we have some fun theme weeks coming up and I have some scarves that fit the bill perfectly, I know I'm not going to be able to adhere to my goal of no repeats. But, I'm still trying to give priority to the F24.

Hola black 6.jpg Hola Black.JPG

I am easily amused, I know, but I still find it neato that this scarf "disappears" into this dress. Stealth Scarf :ninja:

Here's an archive pic .... I think it was Scarfmischief who recently started a thread extolling the virtues of the H Cheche (silk/cotton) and I would add that I wish H would reissue designs in the all cotton 140 format. No fuss, no worries; throw it in the wash, take it to the beach, throw it in your bag, no snagging, no pilling....just sayin' ;)

I'm with Bienchen on the Lalbhai - it is such an alluring pattern and I can't quite work out why...

'Markova' knots should keep you cooler, textilegirl - I just can't imagine the polarities of temperature your climate features. As I intimated to sophieg, here its cool, cold, cool, lukewarm, cold. We long for the grass on the other side, eh?!

Anyway, keep pulling 'em out of the archives for us. Your choices are always that little bit different, thus so enjoyable - I know to pull up a chair when I spot your posts!

Not in the mood for red today but found the Cachemire Ancien in the archive, twins with Sophie on the flower knot!

Now we're really getting into the evidence for Red being the most varied of colours....I think this is pink!!

I confess that one very like your rose ancien CA I was outbid for on an eBay auction last summer: it was yet 'another that got away' - no big deal:shrugs:

However, subsequent sightings of this one on you made me commence searching with ardour - I finally found one in the States and was happy, for once, to bear the customs charges to have this for my own! Thanks for the enablement - unlikely to happen, though, with your amazing Soiree de Gala ;)

I wore my Nuees Imaginaire mousseline. I took this in my car, and it's a bit washed out. It's really a very vivid color with 3 or 4 reds plus the corail, and the other colors really pop against the reds. Hopefully I can take a better picture soon!!

The word 'mousseline' sends me all of a-flutter these days, let alone one that features a host of reds. It must be that one of those crimson hues would suit me!

I possess NI in the turquoise/grey/teal 90cm silk but surely its cloud theme must qualify it to be the best subject ever for the etherealness of silk chiffon. I would love to see more pictures if you're able to post more!

Pomba, you may not remember this since it was back during the fall, but we had a theme week called One Scarf, Two or More Ways. Wear the same scarf for several days straight but tie it a different way each time. It was a lot of fun, so I say grab your Red scarf, join in the fun, and start tying up a storm!!

thank you! I will have to find a way to take a pic of me with my scarf today as I have it on in the office....

I'm loving Red week so far! Yesterday I wore one of the Forgotten 24 - Hola Flamenca in red/black/white.

Now,TangoTosca, I have been waiting with baited breath to see which of your red scarves you were going to post first - my household put your Passage at odds on favourite.

However, this is the scarf I completely associate with you since I discovered your wonderful Circus at the beginning of my H scarf passion.

To me, it personifies you as with none other. The juxtaposition of black/red/white is your Snow White colouring, plus the swirling skirts and its dance theme further stamp this scarf with the claim to be TangoTosca in silk. In fact, I don't think anyone else should ever wear Hola Flamenca in this colour without breaching copyright!!

L'Equenes, a vintage item (has the small tag on the corner). This is one of my favorite scarves when tied, as the red, cobalt, pink, kelly and grey somehow work very well together.
