his brother, Gobble, Gobble,

Anyone remember Newhart? "Hi, my name's Larry. This is my brother Darryl, and this is my other brother Darryl."

'This is my brother Gobble, and this is my other brother Gobble.' (Maybe one will turn out to be Gobblina. Have you sexed your chicks yet? :) No, I'm not tired of the animal talk!)

i'm not red, yet! (But I will be, soon.) This pollen in H town is really getting to me. For the first time in a long while, I have lost my voice! Good thing our forum relies on typing, huh? I'll get myself back to "myself" after I shake off this NyQuil. (I don't want to get others sick on the forum.)

Hope you're feeling better!

It just occurred to me, what with all the talk of "grail" scarves, this Monty Python line of chat could really go down the drain.... That grail-shaped beacon, you know....

A significant porportion of my H scarves are red (my favorite color). Here I present Les Cavaliers d'Or and Les Folies du Ciel.

L'Equenes, a vintage item (has the small tag on the corner). This is one of my favorite scarves when tied, as the red, cobalt, pink, kelly and grey somehow work very well together.

fresh morning in Paris, tying Etriers and Rytmes together, both vintage..

The gentlemen lead the way in casual classiness - both wonderfully relaxed ways of tying some classic vintage scarves.

John's red looks great with that light blue shirt, and I'd rather like to find something along the lines of Michel's linen one.

I tried with one of those "extended arm" self taken pic with my blackberry and this is the best I got. Can't believe I got away with it in my office with no one seeing LOL

Maybe someone would have spotted you if you'd tried to snap yourself by putting your head in the colour photocopier! This seems to be a current 'art-form' with students at school - don't ask. :push:

Tresors Retrouves does claim a place as one of this season's favourites - by virtue of being Annie Faivre as much as its excellent tie-ability, maybe? It looks fantastic on you in the dual reds of the design framed by the white roulotte.

I'm becoming increasingly drawn to the casual styles of knotting so experiment away - there's plenty to learn from MT's Picture Book and this forum if you're seeking inspiration.

I pulled out my Promenade au Pays du Cezanne, which is a bright pinkish red, or maybe an orange red....with some dark red incorporated.

I'd love to see more pictures of this design: it reminds me a little of Sur les Rives du Leman with its effortless colour wash effect, could they share an artist?

How this could be mistaken for Zabavushka is puzzling :shrugs: but I like the happy ending for you!

Vintage scarves do seem to have a preponderance of red/navy/white/gold so you must resonate with all those colours - a true 'classic' palette demonstrated in your Cavaliers.

I note the current trend is to pair vintage designs with 'non-classic' clothing - rather than fetching out your plus fours and tweed jacket ;)

Folies, don't you think, represents a transition design from the older BdG type carres and halfway to the art represented in the newer scarves? There's much more going on and far more colours, not to mention the focus on corners, in these current schemes. Some of both types are requisites for a collection! Not to mention the inclusion of red.....

By the way, warm thanks to hair-mess, sophieg, lanit textilegirl, maedi and TangoTosca for endorsing my crimson Printemps - half expecting Scarf Addict to whip out her exact same version for a SOTD airing but I think she's busy experimenting with her new Grand Fonds:p

The folds of this little burgundy classic really play to your wonderful curls. Lovely colour pairing with your neutral jacket.

I can't imagine not being able to wear a scarf due to rising temperatures here in March. However, it is 16 degrees C in my neck of the British woods today: heaven-sent warmth for us at this time of year.
Thank you, pussywillow! The trees are out in full bloom a good 2 weeks early this year

I'm loving Red week so far! Yesterday I wore one of the Forgotten 24 - Hola Flamenca in red/black/white.

I wrote about this on my thread here, but I'm now undertaking the TangoTosca Spring 2012 Challenge - wearing the 24 scarves I haven't worn since 2011 before indulging myself again repeats. Now, considering we have some fun theme weeks coming up and I have some scarves that fit the bill perfectly, I know I'm not going to be able to adhere to my goal of no repeats. But, I'm still trying to give priority to the F24.

I am easily amused, I know, but I still find it neato that this scarf "disappears" into this dress. Stealth Scarf :ninja:

That's a great start on the challenge, TangoTosca! I love how you paired the scarf with your little Alma. Perfect match, I say

Great pop of color under your shirt, John!

My red scarf ... not sure what knot I did as I need to go for scarf tying lessons still at my local H store.

I have a nice business dress on with a cinched waist as I lost some weight recently and this pic does it no justice!

oh well,
I know what you mean Pomba, I'm still struggling with phone pics myself :D But your new Tresors Retrouves looks fantastic on you!

I pulled out my Promenade au Pays du Cezanne, which is a bright pinkish red, or maybe an orange red....with some dark red incorporated. There is a story behind this scarf (isn't there always?!). The very first scarves I purchased were ordered from H.com probably in spring 2010, and one of them I ordered was Zabavuschka. Imagine my surprise when I opened the orange box and found Cezanne! I don't think I had ever seen it before. What a pain, now i was going to have to pack it up and ship it back, and hope they still had the Zaba for an exchange.

But, over the next few days I found myself imagining this scarf with one of my outfits. Sure enough, I wore it to work, and that was it. I ordered the Zabavuschka and thankfully received it in my next order!!

Haven't worn this in quite some time, and found it a bit wrinkled up. I had taken it off because too hot in my office then put it on real quick to snap a pic. So, it's a lot prettier than this picture gives credit for! :p
What a great story, Euridice! Glad it worked out in the end and of course you got 2 scarves instead of one :p Your Au Pays de Cezanne in orange/red is a beauty

I'm trying, but I think all the "shrubberies" I could bring you that would be appropriate would be somewhat expensive.

Your Sunday-afternoon-interactive-Monty-Python sounds like an absolute blast. I'm surprised it's not done here in Austin. (This _is_ the city that still shows Rocky Horror every Saturday night at midnight...um, interactive.)

Don't worry about the RED you see in this photo...'tis only a flesh wound.

RoseUSA, those 2 are fabulous on you. Cavaliers d'Or, of course, how could I say otherwise:smile1:. I love how Les Folies du Ciel ties - great classic!

Another great pairing of scarves, Michel

I am going to disappear for a while - going on a 2-week trip. I fully expect the thread to have reached 100 pages when I come back, so I may have to lurk in the meantime :graucho:.

When I was researching scarves, Les Cavaliers D'or is my favourite but being a newbie, didnt realize that the style is no longer sold in the stores as they only keep the current season.

Its great to see it on a real person (rather than online flat) as its still swoonworthy to me.
