Yay! Bring it on Pomba!

:thinkin:I wonder which knot and on what clothing.....the suspense!

I tried with one of those "extended arm" self taken pic with my blackberry and this is the best I got. Can't believe I got away with it in my office with no one seeing LOL

My red scarf ... not sure what knot I did as I need to go for scarf tying lessons still at my local H store.

I have a nice business dress on with a cinched waist as I lost some weight recently and this pic does it no justice!

oh well,

If I could just be a bother and ask one quick question about those bird scarves...were those African swallows or Asian swallows?

Bahahahhahahahahahaha...honey are you tired of all the animal talk? Not a Dr. Dolittle fan?? Stick to scarf talk Scarfies!!! Are you speaking in metaphor?? :lolots::lolots::nuts::lolots::lolots::smooch:

In my world, references to Monty Python are always welcome, and judging from the number of people chiming in, I'd say I'm not the only one!!

Last Spring, a local cinema showed Monty Python and the Holy Grail - fully interactive. Myself, DH and a half-dozen of my closest friends, including doctorate holding geologists and physicist working for major oil companies, sat in a darkened movie theater with other joyful idiots, clomping along with coconut shells and whomping each other with small, inflatable swords.

And then came the command "Fetchez la vache!"

Yes, people, inflatable cows became airborne. It was a Saturday afternoon well wasted :D

imoline you are quite the Lady in Red! I loved seeing your Quadrige in a different colourway from my own and of maedi's - the strong lines of the design really suit bold colours. However, the dark pink/red L'Arbre de Vie is my favourite here: what a wonderful shade from the many hues of RED!

Have we any other red maniacs who post here? It's lovely to associate personalities with particular shades - such as turquoise pierina, pink ScarfAddict, purple VnSoie, green Gollygwhizz (missing you here - please come out to play!)

I would be glad to be Red imoline, thank you for you sweet words Pussywillow ....:smile1: and i am definitely fan of your Printemps été in red ....

John
this patern looks great on you ....
Tango I have always admired your collection and you Hola flamenco is very shiny , love the matching dress too !
Lanit o my god , we are scarf twins :yahoo:, Le pégase is simply gorgeous , but not one of my favorites when worn, I prefer to wear the grey one.
Sophieg Many thanks to you, l'arbre de vie is such a joyfull scarf, I love the fower knot, and you made it too perfection.
Textilegirl your Lalbhai is gorgeous, I own the mousse, and I like wearing it in a casual way too .
Maedi Thank you !
Euridice your Nuees mousse is stunning.
Hair-mess you wear one (of my too many !) grail perfectly so casual and yet so chic ....
Saprkelisab I like you faisan, and in France you can see them quite frequently in the countrside ....

Was the scarf Lilanga ever mentionned in scary week ??
I must admit I find it quite disturbing.....

Stop that! It's silly! :p

S #1: It's a simple question of weight ratios! A five ounce bird could not carry a one pound coconut.
S #2: It could be carried by an African swallow!
S #1: Oh, yeah, an African swallow maybe, but not a European swallow.
S #1: But then of course a-- African swallows are non-migratory.
S #2: Oh, yeah...
S #1: So they couldn't bring a coconut back anyway...

Now go bring me a shrubbery, VnSoie, or I shall be forced to say "Ni" again. One that looks nice. And not too expensive.
TT you have me lmao! I built a bridge across a stream in my garden with my students and I ask them the "3 questions" before crossing. They look at me like I'm crazy lol. the Holy Grail fans here will know what were refering to.

Bienchen, thank you! Gosh am I delighted you are now able to fully post! You have been sorely missed here although I have been following the garden doings in lurk mode ;) I'm a fan of Cachemire Ancien because of your lovely post; a very understated and rich design

Euridice, Nuees mousse is gorgeous! I tried the pink as I needed (yeah, right) something for an event but it didn't suit as well as I'd hoped. Shoulda tried the red!

Maedi, thank you! My cotton Lalbhai was a new-to-me find on eBay a while ago and has been to the beach and back several times! My summer silk Lalbhai has left me for a happier home; I just couldn't make it work well enough in the cw I'd chosen. I might try again with Coaching if there's a flattering cw for me. The Shrine? Now that's another story entirely; it's not empty, but it's not quite full enough, and my SA has just called :graucho:

TangoTosca, thank you! I'm a huge fan of the 'Markova' in all of it's variations! Thank you for reminding me that Don't Look Now was a Du Maurier tale originally; not surprising when I recall those scenes on the canal and that fleeting red dress....."Ni' was quite the rallying cry back in my college days, what a fun reminder! And what a fun 'find the scarf in the dress trick'!!

imoline, no wonder you love red, both choices are beautiful with your coloring! Thank you for complimenting my Lalbhai, you are lucky to have it in the mousseline, so pretty!

sophieg, thank you!

pussywillow, thank you! :blushing: Alas, 'twas not I who outbid you on the coveted Cachemire, thus I'm still looking. Do share yours, red or no!

hermesguy, what a treat to see another great ascot look; you make it seem so effortless!

Pomba, your knot making and picture taking are just fine, and your red Tresors is a lovely cw choice for you!

I'm loving Red week so far! Yesterday I wore one of the Forgotten 24 - Hola Flamenca in red/black/white.

I wrote about this on my thread here, but I'm now undertaking the TangoTosca Spring 2012 Challenge - wearing the 24 scarves I haven't worn since 2011 before indulging myself again repeats. Now, considering we have some fun theme weeks coming up and I have some scarves that fit the bill perfectly, I know I'm not going to be able to adhere to my goal of no repeats. But, I'm still trying to give priority to the F24.

I am easily amused, I know, but I still find it neato that this scarf "disappears" into this dress. Stealth Scarf :ninja:

TangoTosca

Wow that is one incredible scarf! I love the sweep of the dress/design, and the intense red/black colors.

Your Nuees looks beautiful euridice!

thank you so much! And congratulations on your two beautiful new shawls!! I am especially enjoying your Tendresse Feline!!

Euridice - Forgive me if I have you confused with someone else, but do you also have a Jardins d'Armenie mousse? If so, you've got a beautiful collection of mousses along with your Nuees Imaginaire.

Yes! That's me, with the black stole in the Jd'A. Thanks so much, I'm definitely getting into mousselines! Shawls have a lot of versatility, but the stole is so easy to wear, I'm finding.

And you look fabulous in that mousseline, Euridice! Great, bright colors!

Thanks so much! And, you are gorgeous and chic in your lovely Cavaliers D'Or gavroche!!

The word 'mousseline' sends me all of a-flutter these days, let alone one that features a host of reds. It must be that one of those crimson hues would suit me!

I possess NI in the turquoise/grey/teal 90cm silk but surely its cloud theme must qualify it to be the best subject ever for the etherealness of silk chiffon. I would love to see more pictures if you're able to post more!

I have that NI in the 90 also!! I love this design, and I agree that it's perfect in the mousseline. So many wonderful colorways for this one, too! I resisted the plummy purple and waited to see the red. I knew that one would be for me!!

I'll try to take pictures that look better at some point!

Euridice your Nuees mousse is stunning.

Thanks so much!

imoline: loving your red beauties!

Euridice - what a great mousse and this is a lovely pattern for a mousse.

Thanks so much!

TangoTosca, I just adore that flamenco scarf with the dots!! You look amazing in it!!

Euridice, Nuees mousse is gorgeous! I tried the pink as I needed (yeah, right) something for an event but it didn't suit as well as I'd hoped. Shoulda tried the red!

Thanks!!

Textilegirl, love that beautiful La Carnavale, and there's a Farandole peeking out!! And, your Lalbhai is amazing gorgeous!!

ScarfAddict: looking beautiful in your ExLenK!!

la Vie En Rose: Alphabet III is so beautiful and striking!

And there's that marvelous red Tendresse Feline again, LOVE!!!

pussywillow: Beautiful Printemps Ete 69!! That's a perfect red, and I hope you find more like that!!

Pegase! That is amazing, love the way you wear that scarf, it's all about the gorgeous bird feathers, no worries about whether they are sleeping!

hair-mess, hope you're feeling better! Lovely Coupons Indiens!

Lanit: I am glad you've held onto your Pegase!! I have this CW, and I LOVE the gorgeous colors in the wing feathers. You wear it beautifully!

Bienchen, so pretty in your chic flower knot!

hermesguy: gorgeous colors, you are right about how well they go together in that scarf!

pomba, fantastic tresors, and tied beautifully!!

I pulled out my Promenade au Pays du Cezanne, which is a bright pinkish red, or maybe an orange red....with some dark red incorporated. There is a story behind this scarf (isn't there always?!). The very first scarves I purchased were ordered from H.com probably in spring 2010, and one of them I ordered was Zabavuschka. Imagine my surprise when I opened the orange box and found Cezanne! I don't think I had ever seen it before. What a pain, now i was going to have to pack it up and ship it back, and hope they still had the Zaba for an exchange.

But, over the next few days I found myself imagining this scarf with one of my outfits. Sure enough, I wore it to work, and that was it. I ordered the Zabavuschka and thankfully received it in my next order!!

Haven't worn this in quite some time, and found it a bit wrinkled up. I had taken it off because too hot in my office then put it on real quick to snap a pic. So, it's a lot prettier than this picture gives credit for! :p

I'm trying, but I think all the "shrubberies" I could bring you that would be appropriate would be somewhat expensive.

Your Sunday-afternoon-interactive-Monty-Python sounds like an absolute blast. I'm surprised it's not done here in Austin. (This _is_ the city that still shows Rocky Horror every Saturday night at midnight...um, interactive.)

Don't worry about the RED you see in this photo...'tis only a flesh wound.
