We're almost done with the theme weeks we have on the books. I guess it's time to start brainstorming what we're going to do for the rest of the spring.

Seeing how it seems to be a big trend right now on this thread, how about a week dedicated to:

Double your Pleasure, Double your Fun: Two Scarves

And by the way, hasn't this thread gotten a little long? Seems like in the past the mods used to cut it off around 350 pages.

Wasn't there also supposed to be a theme week of non-H scarves? :shrugs:

I hope so... I have scads of Talbots scarves that seldom see the light of day. It would be nice to give them an opportunity to shine.

My Rêve d'Australie arrived and surprise, it was an entirely different color than the seller's photos/description. (This never happens with eBay purchases, right.) No blues or golds in it, only vivid shades of grey (charcoal and slate), ochre, red, asparagus green - but it's bright, not mousey. I'm not even mad because a grey/earthy/contrasts scarf like this fills a much-needed niche in my collection AND it's so crisp and stiff like it's never been out of the box.

Look at these tone-on-tone white dots on ivory silk, asdfghjkl. The design is busy with stylized animals, boomerangs, and smaller symbols common in Australian aboriginal art, the combination of which can tell elaborate stories. These "dreamtime" stories are usually shown from a bird's-eye view; they set down moral order and establish customs. On Rêve, I see symbols for journey and campfire, running water, stars, emu tracks. Pairing it with Native American turquoise or Tahiti black pearls. It pleases the armchair traveler in me :)

So, my contribution to Around The World In 7 Days, Australia. Thank you for letting me share :smile1:

Bondgirl, this is glorious in this colorway. What a lucky break that the scarf turned out to be different - but better - than the seller described!!

We're spiritual Aussie sisters today :ghi5:, the Reve de Gloria that I'm wearing is the only scarf ever designed for Hermes by an Australian artist. I love your write up on Rêve d'Australie - it's remarkable what detail went into that scarf.

There have been some really neat coincidences on this thread this week, hasn't there?

Bondgirl. This is a spectacular color way! It looks fantastic on you

VnSoie: Better to be bitten by Negonda than strangled by an Anaconda! Gorgeous bag; perfect color. I love both yours and Tango's.
Jahna: I love the idea of horns in New York! So classic on 5th Avenue I'm sure.
Tango: your black dress and your suit with scarf and bag are to die for delicious! You look perfect in both. I love that you thought of me when you saw the "cows" at the rodeo. My husband and I keep saying we're going to drive to Texas and pick us up some more cows!
Pussywillow: the double blue scarves are so crisp and lively. I can't wait to tie this sort of style. And your scarf necklace is so fun. I keep wondering how I am going to wear my scarves in the 110 degree summer weather--maybe this look??
Micheldietlin: you are the King of doubles! Fabulous.
Euridice: your Jardins d'Armenia is gorgeous. I have never seen this shawl but as an Armenian, I must find one. And your double pieces are so bright and beautiful!
Pierina2: I have read that you are the queen of Blue, and I see why. Oh how I would love your India--most beautiful cw I have seen and the Brazil!! Gasp. I'm thinking I can find that one to wear feathers instead of wearing that darn turkey! I love the feathers! Your headband is so sprite and fun...is your hair shorter or does the scarf band lift the hair up? Thank you my dear silkie friend for posting picture of the Texas long horn--so flattered.
Lanit: your mousse is lovely; I especially think the darker lipstick with your purple picotin and scarf rocked the look.
Bond7Girl: the Reve d'Australie is so interesting. I love the close up pictures. And dear, you are wrong about turquiose and think you would look as gorgeous as our Pierina. Spring/Summer is around the corner for you to try.

The pictures are so great ! Wonderful blue ! Does it have any anthracit...?

I know I haven't commented on all the beauty that I've seen, and I hope I've thanked everyone who commented. Today I traveled from Armenia to India, then on to Japan! I layered CW02 of Ex Libris en Kimono with Lalbhai summer twill in the prune with orange border.

I didn't have time to mess with it this morning, but thought it was okay (first pic). I then kind of knotted things together, 2nd pic, so that it would be a bit more stable. The Lalbhai hangs down for quite a ways. What I intend to do, though, is the weave knot with the Lalbhai and weave some of the ExLenK into it from below.

Thanks for the inspiration!

I am sorry to be behind on comments but I had to stop and take some time to say that Euridice, this is the prettiest combo I think I have ever seen! I had to look twice to see both the ExLenK AND the Lalbhai since they match so beautifully! I think I have two that would look good together so I will try later on this week. You set the bar really high!:smile1:

Have to post this again for our Around the World theme week,

Le Monde est Vaste mousseline GM:

pierina, Your Le Monde mousse is what makes me a mousse fan. (I haven't purchased one yet, but if I did.......) I think there is still a Le Monde mousse on H.com, but I HAVE to be good with bday coming in April and for my "had to have it Les Mustangs:D" The softness of the Le Monde with the contrast of the lines is magnificent. I love how the design peeks through the mousse on so many layers. Both soft and bold at the same time. You should be the professional model for this scarf. If they hired you to do so, it would surely sell out!!

Belated Happy Birthday wishes to lanit, sounds like you had a great day!

I shall try to catch up individually later, TPF quirks permitting.

The quickest of fly by's: Sous le Cedre which depicts a mediterranean scene or possibly, either way, a fair way from here.

Bien, this is magnificent! I do not know this scarf but the mosaic tiles are scrumptious!! I love how the sides are asymetrical. Lovely and interesting. I must go search now! THank you for sharing.

Oh, I am so taken by mosaic and this is gorgeous . All those Greek memories come back : I need a Greek holiday and Sous le Cedre, not necessarily in that order !

pussywillow - you look so fresh in this look!

sparkle - I have been remiss in remarking on your truly gorgeous Carpe Diem/ Soleil mousseline. If I would be so lucky with having found something this beautiful I would wear it everyday for the great vibes it brings!

michel - I really admire the way you can take your silks and combine them! Another great theme week idea -two or three silks combinations week! Hurray and you lead the way in this regard.

Pierina - I wish I had gotten one of the Le Monde est Vaste silks - I especially love the mousseline version! Of course it is best captured on your lovely shoulders!

Speaking of mousselines - and around the world, wearing Belles du Mexique today for brunch with the ladies.

Lanit Your B de M mousseline can't be bettered , it's so simply beautiful . I mean that literally, honest simple colours on white ...no need for more !
