Sparkles, that is exactly what I was thinking... someone scalped those poor gals.

Based on the scary figures Lanit and Pierina have displayed from their collection, maybe we should take a few of Kermit Oliver's scarves in for questioning, or go ask Alice...

Tango, I'm still laughing at the Kermit Oliver reference, especially as I'm not a fan. :laugh:Thanks for including Metz! Oh, and you look great in your Magic Kelly!!

Essie--you are so darling in your dud and dead bird proudly hanging from your neck. What a conversation starter.

Thanks dear! It is indeed neat to see this scarf on. I did not know the peaceful bird was as large as it shows (or is it because you are petite?). This is one of those cool pieces that you can wear dress up or down. Enjoy!

So Sparklelisab and RoseUSA, you got me thinking...
I did some research on pheasants and the average size is 24-36 inches (with the tailfeathers on the male making up almost 1/2 the length). Well, I am a bit disturbed that the pretty birdies on my scarf, hanging off my neck are essentially full size. :shucks:

Oh TangoTosca ... maybe they're sleeping.

Yup, I'm ready for RED week.

Essiedub, Did you really go measure the peaceful bird? You crack me up!!!! :roflmfao:

Just to hang onto a little bit of the scary theme from last week, here is a featureless me wearing a red La Promenade de Longchamps with a mis-matched top! :p

frittilaryB, I like your pink version of the carnivores.

Tango, can't wait for the "final" list; putting it in my calendar. Thanks for all the work! ...and yes, the 2-1/2 minute Tango affair was very satisfying!

sparklelisab Cancer survivor scarf...that is actually a wonderful idea!! ...and thanks for the tip about "Alternateur"!

This really is the dead parrot sketch! You two are too funny. When birds sleep they tuck their heads under their wings. More evidence favoring the dead hypothesis. Essiedub, I admire your loyalty in defending your life-sized dead pheasants.

Sweet essiedub,

Please don't take our good-natured teasing too seriously. It's only because we love you, and we love scarves, you know :smooch:

Now that you've mastered the art of posting pictures, please share the other gems in your closet! Any red scarves for us to admire?

Looking forward to it!

They are sleeping. Hermes is taking artistic license, since tucking heads under the wings wouldn't look very good on a scarf. There, that's what you should tell yourself!

I am sure that the birds who modeled for this work of art were alive. So perhaps it is best to think of them as living birds playing a part for the artist.

I got this scarf as a gift years ago and never really wore it (didn't know how) I certainly never examined it like I did this week:laugh:

Yup...RoseUSA, I measured them birds - twas a somewhat jarring revelation:wtf:

Euridice and FrittilaryB erh..I didn't know birds slept with their wings covering their heads...(I need to get out more):lolots:

TangoTosca ...what can I say:hugs:

This has been SO much fun! These scarf threads are so active...there's real interchange, educational, thought-provoking, and visual. No wonder they're so addictive (scarves and threads). I never knew scarves could be so interesting. Well I credit MsTango and her circus for sending me down this path:smile1:

ha ha, I didn't know that either, I mean, I wouldn't have known they actually sleep for that matter!
