HAPPY ST. PATTY'S DAY TO ALL THE SCARFIES!

Thank you Pierina, fritillary, IFFAH and Maedi - for your kind compliments.

Pierina - marvelous on the mousse combinations and even though the dolls do range into the scary territory, I would love to see the new 140 summer silk -it should be soon!

Fritillary - thank you for the tidbits on the insects - you are a wealth of knowledge and I now know to stay away from those carnivorous plants! Poor little buggies.

.

Lanit,
Your green Temari is beautiful! It goes perfectly with your sweater. You are always so perfectly put together. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Here's kind of what I'm thinking so far (and of course I'll mix the order up). Likewise, if it turns out we have enough material to last until December, then I'll insert Holiday-themed scarves at the appropriate time.

Tango,
I think your list looks fantastic. I am so glad you are taking this on. I am looking forward to Life Aquatic. Plisse's and Pochettes are always nice to wear in the warmer months so perhaps they could come around July?

Pierina--I can't wait to see if I can double my Axis Mundi and Carpe Diem Mousselines. They have similar cws. How fun. Thank you my dear!
Tango--the green on you is fabulous with your cream skin and dark hair. Lovely. And I adore your sweet bare feet..so sweet our little green cherub!
Fritillary--Congratulations on not ONE, but TWO shawls. Oh, I shutter. Stunning. The cw of your Feline is so soothingly peaceful. I am dumb, but what is number two? Kimono? Can't tell as a newbie.
Essie--you are so darling in your dud and dead bird proudly hanging from your neck. What a conversation starter.
Jahna--if I remember correctly, you are an alternateur fan, and there is a stunning cw in mousseline on ebay at a great price. Thought of you my Tango dancing dear.

Number 2 is Au Fil du Carre. In is a composite of many different Annie Faivre designs. It might even have some bits of your reve corail in it. It was a 90 in the fall/winter collection

Okey Dokey RoseUSA - here's the Belle Chasses modeled (which really elevated my blase weekend duds, if I do say so myself:D:D)

Thanks dear! It is indeed neat to see this scarf on. I did not know the peaceful bird was as large as it shows (or is it because you are petite?). This is one of those cool pieces that you can wear dress up or down. Enjoy!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Thank you all for your Theme Week contributions... keep 'em comin'

Today in honor of my (distant) Irish roots, Magic Kelly tied two different ways. I think I'm going to stick with look #1 for tonight's potluck at a friend's house. Yes, I am the barefoot contessa today :shame:

Can we add Dallet and Hubert de Watrigant to the H artists? Thanks so much for taking this on, TT.

Fritillaryb- Congratulations on your TWO beautiful new shawls!! You're correct, I'm not much of a Dallet fan myself, but I enjoy how much others love him, and the pink tones in that shawl are lovely.

essiedub - Woo hoo! You figured out how to post pics; now you'll never be off the hook again! As for the scarf... well... you do have a point about the feathers looking nice...;)

Lanit - Wow, Go Irish!! I stand in awe of how you can combine colors and patterns. Those are two different shades of green and yet the work marvelously together. How do you do that??? LOL Also love the Christine and Pani Pointu Madras.

Hairmess - Always nice to see you in your brown Les Ponyes. That scarf ties so well.

Pierina - Oh, yikes! I've never seen Kachinas close up before, those figurines look very threatening! :amazed:

IrisJ - Oh, goodness, fish heads! Glad those disappear into the rest of the scarf...

Jahna - Glad you finally got in your "fix."

Ladybaga - Glad you're back and feeling tanned, rested, and ready!

MetzFan - Right after I posted that I closed my laptop and then suddenly realized that I forgot to include Metz. I was about to open everything back up and make the correction right away but then thought, nah.... MetzFan'll catch it! And she did! I knew I could count on you :p

Maedi - And speaking of Dallet, I've got him and de Watrigant down now - thanks!

Eagle - Thanks for the bevy of bright ideas!

I have been lurking, and so enjoying this discussion and exhibit of scary, creepy scarves. This one, Alphabet III by Annie Faivre, I bought (at a consignment shop) because I was intrigued by the design. However, I do find it a bit creepy, what with the animals in weird positions in order to spell out Hermès.

I think the weirdness of the animal's positions is really exacerbated by the black and white finesse colorway. Very ghostly, like looking at a negative.

I also find Fairytales a bit creepy, what with the looks of some of the characters, such as Alice in Wonderland's eyes (zombie? goth?). And the blue/orange colors seem to heighten the effects.

I'm with you there on the creepiness of Fairytales. Like Jahna implied, fairytales originally were filled with, well, horror stories. I find the scarf slightly disturbing, and when it was offered to me (in the pink "true to life" cw no less) I still passed on it.

Now, as far as Alice goes... not a zombie, not a goth girl... just someone who has eaten one too many Magic Mushrooms

OK, Creepy scarves...
I find this a bit creepy (although I own one for when I want to change my hair color). This from HSCI:

Eva.jpg

Jahna--I could imagine a cancer-survivor admiring the wig scarf but it definitely does have an eeriness if that perspective isn't entertained. I see a horrow movie with some serial killer, or a nasty cowboy movie with scalped heads....

Sparkles, that is exactly what I was thinking... someone scalped those poor gals.

Based on the scary figures Lanit and Pierina have displayed from their collection, maybe we should take a few of Kermit Oliver's scarves in for questioning, or go ask Alice...
