Pierina, I think you look stunning in anything, but especially blue. The color should be reserved for you!

Michel, I am enjoying your double scarf-tying; might try that tonight. (I have to think up a new outfit for a recurring event. Don't want to wear the same-old same-old...

let's trust yourself... I'm sure you'll find it ...;-)

Re: Theme of the Week. Somehwhere about 1000 posts ago, I saw a list; does anyone have it? ...or at least know what next week is? Hmmmm???

Here's where we are so far:

4 March 2012 Around the world in 7 days
11 March 2012 Scariest scarf, any scarf with a slightly disturbing aspect
18 March 2012 Red scarves!
25 March 2012 Show off your Annie Faivre designs

pussywillow - you look so fresh in this look!

sparkle - I have been remiss in remarking on your truly gorgeous Carpe Diem/ Soleil mousseline. If I would be so lucky with having found something this beautiful I would wear it everyday for the great vibes it brings!

michel - I really admire the way you can take your silks and combine them! Another great theme week idea -two or three silks combinations week! Hurray and you lead the way in this regard.

Pierina - I wish I had gotten one of the Le Monde est Vaste silks - I especially love the mousseline version! Of course it is best captured on your lovely shoulders!

Speaking of mousselines - and around the world, wearing Belles du Mexique today for brunch with the ladies.

A great contrast edging in pattern and colour on your mousseline - love the wavy lines.

I continually confuse Jardins D'Armenie with Peuple du Vent - I had to make sure they don't share a designer (Jd'A is Petrossian as is Le Boubou H, fancy that) - and quite Tabriz-like if you are looking to the possible A/W12 offerings already!

Thanks, I love the wavy lines, too! And, I love Jardins, Peuple du Vent (that might be my favorite, or second favorite H design), AND Tabriz from what I see on the AW12 silk speculation thread!! That's interesting that the same artist did Le Boubou and Jardins D'Armenie.

Markova is responsible for my scarf for this week--Carpe Diem in a 1994 mousseline that I bought brand new from a reseller. OMG! When I saw Markova's, my heart fluttered crazily and I found my own. No one can beat Markova's pic and I know this is an old design and everyone knows about it, but she is new to me. I wore her for the first time --around the world! My sun, the literary eye of God that warms our world with beautiful rays of hope and spirit and illumination.

sparklelisab, I haven't had a chance to comment and I thought I would be better late than never (just too many things going on on this thread!). this is so gorgeous on you! What an absolutely amazing find! 1994 and brand new!! You are stunning in this mousseline AND your bracelet stack!!

I know I haven't commented on all the beauty that I've seen, and I hope I've thanked everyone who commented. Today I traveled from Armenia to India, then on to Japan! I layered CW02 of Ex Libris en Kimono with Lalbhai summer twill in the prune with orange border.

I didn't have time to mess with it this morning, but thought it was okay (first pic). I then kind of knotted things together, 2nd pic, so that it would be a bit more stable. The Lalbhai hangs down for quite a ways. What I intend to do, though, is the weave knot with the Lalbhai and weave some of the ExLenK into it from below.

Thanks for the inspiration!

So funny about our cattle conversation - last night I went to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, a Houston tradition for 80 years. I adore the rodeo and go every year. I wish I had thought to take a picture of the rows upon rows upon rows of show heifers and steers being proudly displayed by school-age kids. Unlike these kids, I was never in FFA (Future Farmers of America) and raised a calf myself, but having grown up in rural east Texas cattle are part of landscape and culture that I just take for granted. I definitely thought about you when I saw Longhorns yesterday, Sparkleslisab!

Tanker Toad - Ah ha! I do recognize that shawl! It looked great on Arlette with her platinum hair, and you wear yours beautifully too, perfect casual chic with your cashmere, leather jacket, and blue jeans.

Pussywillow - I enjoy your thoughtful and well-considered posts always. Nice match of Jardins de la Nouvelle Angleterre necklace and your lipstick, but Le Boubou H and Chaines et Gourmettes worn together should be your signature look. Dang you look good today!!!!

Micheldietlin - Ah, flexing your scarf tying muscles again with another double scarf extravaganza.

Arabesques - You are adorable! And while I know it wasn't planned, I love that our glasses match your scarf!

Euridice - Whoa, what a glorious cw of Jardins d'Armenie. What a fantastic choice of mousseline and it looks amazing on you. But Ex Libris en Kimono with Lalbhai summer twill together!

Lanit - I love how the purple in the border of your Belles is picked up by the picotin. I hope you had a wonderful brunch with the girls!

Pierina - It brightens my day when you have the blues :-)

We're almost done with the theme weeks we have on the books. I guess it's time to start brainstorming what we're going to do for the rest of the spring.

Seeing how it seems to be a big trend right now on this thread, how about a week dedicated to:

Double your Pleasure, Double your Fun: Two Scarves

And by the way, hasn't this thread gotten a little long? Seems like in the past the mods used to cut it off around 350 pages.

Thinking further about creating new theme weeks, I'm throwing a few more ideas out there :thinkin:

I was Sailing Along: Nautical Scarves
The Life Aquatic: Scarves featuring water or sea life
Games People Play: Scarves about games or other entertainment
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles: Scarves featuring transportation
Everyday People: Scarves featuring folks

Grail scarves, music, color themes, and travel themes are always popular. Can't go wrong there...

TankerToad, mystery solved! I love pairing nails with scarves.

Sparklelisab, you are on fire with luminous mustards and purples this week!

Lanit, happy belated birthday! :partyhat: The color combination on the corners of your Soies Volantes is so show-stopping; you choose these rarely seen, thoroughly 'you' colorways that truly make you shine.

Pussywillow, thank you for responding about culinary scarves. I feel silly because I own a Pays des Epices pochette and didn't think of it! Lifestyle crisis averted, I don't need to turn up the internet in search for a scarf design for my other hobby - cooking. The blues and whites of your Coupons Indiens and Boubou are so clean and intense, so much energy.

Teha, you are so urban-chic in that scarf!

Euridice, I am really enjoying your collection, all these designs are among the ones that I've been drawn to, even if in different cws. Marcellina is such one of a kind, wear-it-to-the-modern-art-wing-of-your-favorite-museum design.

Iris J, your photos can be easily taken for official Hermes ads :) What a gorgeous deep shade of purple in your Pays des Epices.

TangoTosca, no wonder that you have chosen this color of Garden Party, it goes with so many of your scarves!

Hermesguy, classic b/w design with classic b/w stripes, very nice choice.

FritillaryB (and Tango Tosca), scarf envy! I still can't decide on the right cw before adding Per Astra Ad Astra to my wishlist. It has so many things I love: the sea and the story, and many, many details. And I've never seen this stunning cw of Quai aux Fleurs before, what a lucky buy.

VnSoie, I hope I will never get into H bags because I would make purchases with my eyes closed and on color name alone: Chocolate Milk - instabuy. :p The white/cream stitching is a killer detail, and I'm a believer in getting serious bags in colors that you can live in, every day.

Michel, love how you captured the fluidity of silk in your photo. It moves!

Pierina, these see-through layers on layers of maps stir imagination. This scarf begs to be mousselined, and it was, so successfully. With your every photo, I need to drag myself away from it and remind myself that turquoise doesn't look quite as good on me as it is on you. Putting up a post-it note!

My Rêve d'Australie arrived and surprise, it was an entirely different color than the seller's photos/description. (This never happens with eBay purchases, right.) No blues or golds in it, only vivid shades of grey (charcoal and slate), ochre, red, asparagus green - but it's bright, not mousey. I'm not even mad because a grey/earthy/contrasts scarf like this fills a much-needed niche in my collection AND it's so crisp and stiff like it's never been out of the box.

Look at these tone-on-tone white dots on ivory silk, asdfghjkl. The design is busy with stylized animals, boomerangs, and smaller symbols common in Australian aboriginal art, the combination of which can tell elaborate stories. These "dreamtime" stories are usually shown from a bird's-eye view; they set down moral order and establish customs. On Rêve, I see symbols for journey and campfire, running water, stars, emu tracks. Pairing it with Native American turquoise or Tahiti black pearls. It pleases the armchair traveler in me :)

So, my contribution to Around The World In 7 Days, Australia. Thank you for letting me share :smile1:
