I can relate to this (and the other post) about the vachetta. It looks great on others, but I worry too much about having to baby it. I had a Neverfull GM in mono, after 3 years the vachetta started to age just a bit and I figured I would sell while it still looked nice.
I have switched over primarily to Damier Ebene bags, I still have one classic Speedy 25 left in monogram that I will keep.
I know the Neverfull with "patches" is coming out any day now, that is going to be in monogram with black leather trim. I am hoping this bag will eventually become available without the patches, I think the dark trim would be awesome!
When I sold my monogram speedy I felt relieved. I'll never forgot when I first got it, how white the handles were. My first thought was "Oh wow that's going to be hard to keep clean". Why on earth I thought I would be ok with aging and marks, I don't know. I like my purses looking new. Vachetta just is not for me. I've seen YouTube videos of people taking baby wipes to their vachetta and I think they look great turning honey color, for them. But I just don't like the darkening leather myself.
I'm glad you sold your bag before it turned too much
