What’s your unpopular Hermes opinion?

That’s the beauty of a capitalist system imo. Market will dictate the price. And as long as there is a market, H will continue to have the unfair advantage….until they don’t. And then we may see walk in birkins again 🤣 a girl can dream right? Although will you want it if you can walk in and get it? ….im such a glutton for punishment.
Girl aren’t we all? 😂 they got us all learning how to be a masochist.

I get your thinking. . .but. . .
Do you think the stores might then be empty (of bags, anyway)?
I should qualify by saying ‘other than bags’…. I often have to go online or on tpf to see what is available and then text my sa to ask if they have it in the store. The stock is often kept in the backroom and not displayed… most of the things in store are kept behind a glass display cabinet and not for sale… which makes for a boring shopping experience after a while

I made a list of eight bags I don’t have and that I truly want and started looking resale, and also asking if friends or their friends want to sell.

If I continue the way I am going I will have 1,000 boxes of items I haven’t had a chance to wear in years because I can’t keep up.

Does everyone manage to use/wear everything they get? I am having trouble with that and boxes keep piling up. My husband is not the slightest thrilled (quite the opposite).

It arrived a point that even the doormen noticed the quantity of boxes when doing repairs, hence it is time to reduce drastically/take a break.
I also struggle to keep up! I have new boots still in the box… sweaters I forgot I had… it’s kind of crazy. I also have been asking my SA to pack my non-fragile items with tissue paper rather than giving me the boxes because I just don’t want to deal with them anymore ahhhh

UO: I think it’s natural to vary the frequency and rhythm of consumption, AND my SAs think so too. If nothing appeals this season, there is always another

UO: My SAs and I both define the relationship as one where she tells me if something isn’t flattering or if it’s duplicative or not as good as something I already own.

UO: I trust her professional opinion. It’s her job to share wonderful new things either me that are my taste sbd in my budget. It’s my job to take control of my wallet and say no if something isn’t perfect

While I’m friends with some SAs, H ones could lose their jobs if they socialize in an unapproved manner. It has nothing to with how much we like each other personally.

H seems to be WAY more strict on how friendly SAs get with their clients. A friend of mine who shops at other LVMH/Kering houses regularly hangs out with her SAs outside of shops. That would be a big nono at H.

I think your SA is a unique treasure. I’m sure some of it is driven by you being a great customer.

Thanks! It helps that I don’t ask for bags lol. If she thinks I would like something, and if she can offer it, she will. Takes the pressure off.*

Agree with @jbeans and @authenticbbq I have been hanging with LV client services among others . But the Hermes formula works fir them lol

ETA: that goes for rtw too. I like to walk in and fall in love with something. Helps that I am predisposed that way lol

I do ask for St Honore oxymore champagne goblets. I have sets of 14 or so (champagne, wine, water, and old fashioned, all of which took 2 plus years). I could use 6 more. No joy (yet) lol:-s:no:

Reminds me of my audit days, “maintain independence in appearance and fact” but still build a relationship so they still buy your services and be happy doing so. 😂

The duality of service lol
Still clients call asking auditors/sales people in banks etc. to go to F1, the Oscars, so I think it is very different. 😅My friend took his client to the Oscars last year. Those tickets ran $80k I think on resale, it is something absurd.
