Love this, hahaha! And I love that toupet with the sashaying crinolin too!
Definitely an UO:

I actually find the crinoline versions of the sashaying lantern really cool. In fact one of them is in my fashion inspiration folder.
(not to be confused with reality bc I seem to recall someone saying it’s hugely expensive)

ETA: @textilegirl , do you recall any details: price? Can it hold a calvi lol?

UO: I’m not fond of the bathrobe twillane. I have one, and I am resolving to wear it more but it’s like a bathrobe on me.

UO, when @808 said the Twillaine looks like a bathrobe, I gave my twillaines to my sister! Hahaha. Then I decided, wow, I miss them and I bought more. Sorry @880, I just can’t help myself, they are so easy to just throw on. And I agree, I love that funky hourglass, hairy bag.

UO Hermes should formally blacklist clients that gossip about other clients. The nasty comments scream insecurity. You have nothing better to do than to gossip about someone asking to try on RTW? To a sales associate? Weird behavior!

Overheard some nasty comments in a boutique and it reminded me about this website. Dropped by to vent.
Maybe post what you experienced in the "overheard Hermes" thread?

Unpopular opinion but a lot of the RTW does not wear well. I went to the H sale today and was surprised to see how much of the knit RTW was clearly worn from handling with pilling etc. I have a few pieces that I treat very well and are fine but this didn’t make me want to buy anymore. There were some pieces I had considered buying at full price and I was really glad I didn’t after seeing the condition today.
Oh weird! I have a lot of their cashmere pieces and I find them incredibly resilient and easy to take care of. I dry clean only because I just can't be bothered lol. But I have 3-4 year old dresses/sweaters that still look pretty new. I think the sale items might be there for a reason?

UO: my cashmere coats (from the boutique) pill or fuzz abit, so are disappointing, but my cashmere sweaters (from boutique or sample sale are fine). DH also picks up cashmere at the boutique and sample sale, no issues. I think it might differ from batch to batch or style, since I rotate everything out and don’t think the pilling is due to wear, but who knows. JMO.

UO: I do prefer merino /silk blend. It is harder wearing, and I bring it traveling

UO: unless you have height and really great legs, I think one should stay away from leather shorts and leather top or some of the more challenging runway looks. (Mentally reminding myself not to sneak leather shorts into the dressing room lol)

Here is a pic in my style inspiration folder (I loved the bag too) of a woman who really wore this all leather plus shorts look beautifully at the last RTW event. (This is also my diet and exercise inspiration but I will never add eight inches in height lol

A lot of people hate to get dressed to shop. UO: I love to dress up in with something special in the designer mixed with something else (and/or vintage) to go shopping. In part, it’s to provide an extra non-verbal data point as to preferences for my local or FSH SAs. Since I do not have wish lists, it can also give them more ideas as to what I would like (bags and rtw). Sometimes, I wear rtw item that I have bought from them too. In the case of my FSH SA, she sometimes offers a bag that coordinates. A few favorites (mine and my SAs). I almost always wear a top and skirt/pants so I can try on separates.

My UO is that if cashmere is not from the UK, specifically Scotland, it is not of such great quality. The H sweaters (of which I have five or six) remain gorgeous after many wears and they are made in the UK. I promise that the fact that I am originally from Scotland/England is not a factor in my opinion.

My new cashmere is made in Italy. Hope it will stand the test of time …

To stay on topic,
UO. Why is it so difficult to buy things at Hermes in general?

Love that skirt in the middle - guessing that’s not the H? That entire outfit is superb!
