UO: Anyone who is actually judging "oh, that person carries a black Birkin, they must have only one to have chosen a neutral" ...this is not a person I ever want to meet. In a world where millions can't EAT, are people really thinking this?

Related and recursive UO: The reigning philosophy when buying fakes (yes, I do know people who buy fake bags, almost everyone knows someone) is to buy an unusual color because people are theoretically LESS likely to think your bright green bag is a fake. Supposedly it makes you look like someone who would have multiple bags...which is EXACTLY the same judgment of "he/she/they only has a black Birkin, it must be their only one".

UO: A lot of Epsom ‘hate’ is bandwagoning/snobbery more so than actual disliking of the leather itself.

Find me in the pond in the hotel gardens, as I must now duck. Please bring bread.

I think Epsom would be best on SLG's, belts, the Mini Kelly and even the Constance, so although I do like Epsom, it's conditional.

Today's UO, which appears to be not so U, is that one should be able to pronounce things one obsesses over. New-era gatekeeping? Nope? Way back in the 1990s blissful ignorance would be easier to understand... and it STILL would get you side-eye....

Oh no Jessie, no...

My UO: I wish the Hermes employee line of clothing/accessories were available for customers, as some of it could really work in the office. Saw a belt buckle the other day on an SA and she clarified it's for employees only.
With the suits, I think to myself "I can make that work!"

I think Hermes really need to think about bags lightwight enough for working women who actually commute
Completely agree with this!! I feel like the only option for an H bag that is not too flashy and that would fit my laptop (plus a few other items... airpods, notebook, etc) is a Garden Party. Hermes needs functional bags for working ladies!

Those people must have a special kind of brains. Why would anyone spend so much energy in guessing what bags another person has?

My UO: Why do people care about other people’s H bags so much? I was approached by a total stranger who told me that she has the same bag in a different color at home when we should really be enjoying the beautiful scenery.

I was an anti Epsom snob until my SA had me try it. On a cross body or MKII, it’s like a magic, goes through rain, and wipes up spills, miracle

I was team epsom earlier and then got off. But I took one of my epsom bags to an event recently and it proved to be very hardy, indestructible and actually quite functional. So now I am back on. So I join the UO team epsom again.

i thought epsom if you scratch it, no way back? and it's stiff. i guess it's good for Kelly bags.
I know that this is totally off topic. Mod: please move as needed. It can somewhat be repaired. I did something extremely horrible to my Courchevel B. H spa was able to repair it quite well. Courchevel was the “old” Epsom. That said, that 30 year old bag of mine looks better than my six year old Epsom B. I seem to have not so great luck with Noir Epsom.

Not Off topic, since what you are saying is UO: supposedly the old courcheval is the same as the newer Epsom, but youve had better luck with the former than the latter.

Funny, but I’ve had thr opposite experience. I didn’t like the old courcheval. To me the grains were less pronounced and more apt to scratch on the corners. But, I do agree that scratches were easier to blend and it looked more like, well, leather lol. I also agree with you that the new MKII Epsom is a plastic -y lol. I am kind of amused that my pinnacle of bag hood has come to this (and I really like my Mk II)

I’m wondering if h Epsom leather is not the same across the board bc it’s all pressed from not really great quality box leather. In other words, maybe the underlying leather isn’t as standard as it should be. I read once that H is slowly trying to train its clients to view imperfections in leather as natural. Bc it’s environmentally wasteful to discard a hide for a natural imperfection.

My UO is with that in mind, I don’t expect newer H leather to be as perfect as vintage h leather.

Bc, I’ve seen fifty year old box leather hides from duret’s personal stock, and it’s beautiful beyond belief.

I think you are onto something here that not all Epsom were created equal.

As people have theorized that noir leather were made with leather with lower quality, maybe noir Epsom leather were pressed using the worst. I have seen multiple people complained about their noir K sellier Epsom bubbling after being rained on.

My water damaged Epsom bag was noir. I walked in a flurry from Lincoln Center back to the Plaza. I wiped it off right away. And it has a crack a few days afterwards. I have not bothered sending it to the spa because I actually did not care that much about it. I doubt they can fix it 7 years later now.

My Epsom B looks bad compared to other 6 year old bags that I have. It had been rained on a bit.

My Bleu Electique Epsom C18 had been rained on and seemed fine.

So either I simply have bad luck or is there a pattern?

My UO: I guess I just don’t care about that bag as I did not bother sending it in. I have no problem sending many bags to the spa, but I don’t want waste my $ on my only water damaged H bag.

My UO of the day (I think the more middle aged I get the more UO I have). I wish Hermes would make loafers in every color and switch it up every season instead of just Orans. Orans are fine. But boring and frankly not that useful. I want loafers of every color.

This UO inspired by @Prada Prince matching his loafers to his Kelly. Lucky duck. I also want to match my loafers to my Kelly.

I also want to match my loafers to my Kelly.
That’s why I only have gold and black bags so that I have matching loafers

UO: reading about H having sales accessible to non-customers resulting in a frenzied reselling makes me go :annoyed: . Why not extend those invites to Hermes non-VIP first? I feel used… (J/k)

Why, oh why is it that when you have loads of other projects, your SA finds you everything you ever wanted (or you find the collections incredible and you want to buy everything).
OR
When you have the disposable income to buy all your hermes dreams, there is nothing available at the moment.

Could someone explain or even better, do something about this 😇😂🤣
