What’s your unpopular Hermes opinion?

UO apparently: isn't the definition of a 'great offer' personal? To each their own?
I declined a B30 in etoupe (BORING!) but was thrilled by and accepted an offer of a B30 in VC.
The question I was asked if you re read above is what I thought were great offers. Of course it’s personal. I would never for example take a pastel or bright colored bag because it’s not my aesthetic but I can appreciate other colors. However I think we can almost all agree that there are bags we’d almost all categorically decline like that some unpopular non qb in croc a very ugly color. You all have seen these bags.

My UO: Hermes colors are very personal. We can have differences of opinion but no need to belittle another person’s color tastes.

Right now I am not definitely after the same bags that you are after. Your wishes are fabulous and most of us have wished them at some point. I am truly not in any rush because nobody needs any bags. The want is there but I have no problem if I never buy another bag again. Seeing so many losses in the last few years makes me understand that it is really just yet another bag. I don’t need to build my collection as I have already built it over many years.

Long term clients who are pleasant do get the blue box offers and some very coveted rare push offers. And even a new/newer client at the right place and time can get lucky too (the person does not even need to be charming and even nice.) But let’s be honest too. Some social media personalities suggest that they keep getting those regularly with minimal or no spend. Hmmm. We all don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know something does not add up.

I don’t think we are in any disagreement as the definition of “great” was not properly defined in either of our posts earlier.

I don’t have to be charming because my puppies are.

My UO: I am surprised that a few people have to mention that they are pleasant and well mannered. That should be a given in a business transaction. I am sorry if you have to witness crybabies demanding bags.
For clarity I am not after these bags. I absolutely agree no one needs these bags. They’re nice to have.

The H social media influencers live in a fantasy land. It’s mostly make believe. Let’s stop giving these h influencers anymore thought or time because it’s not worth it.

UO: comments about being pleasant or well mannered with h sas are frequent because there are so many ill mannered clients today. We read about them often here and Elsewhere and sometimes even have witnessed it. it’s a reminder that throwing a princess hissy fit or engaging in obsessive stalking behavior won’t bring about that qb any faster.

For example, there are some SAs that just surprise their clients. If they get a bag in that day and you happen to be there with a spend enough for that SA to be ok with, then you get an offer.

Theres also SA that would give you an offer and then if you decline ghost you for 3 months before the next offer just to make sure you think twice next time about declining.

Theres also SA that work on lists of clients and go by order based on how long theyve been waiting (also assuming their spend has already reached whatever min that particular SA deems acceptable). And they'll keep offering whatever they have until that client gets the bag they love.

Just as there are as many different H shopping styles, SAs have different ways of working and how they offer bags too. As the cliche goes, everyone's journey is different.
I think this is a really insightful observation. My UO is that sometimes clients forget that SA's not only have different ways of interacting with their clients, but also that boutiques are led from the top down. In a small boutique the SM's direction/vibe and bag allocation rules could have a much bigger impact on client interactions than in a larger Maison for example. I'm not suggesting that you need to have the SM as your best friend, more that the tone of the boutique and the rules by which coveted bags are allocated may differ from boutique to boutique. So beyond some basic, generic guidelines, everyone's experience is likely to be different.

I am very fortunate that I have never seen a meltdown at a store. I know that H is armed with shrink wrap machines for those who demand to be the first to unwrap the box. I have seen that hissy fit in a review online. Please enlighten me. How do they stalk SM/SA? My brains cannot imagine that.

To keep this on topic, my UO of the day: I love the H dog shampoo and conditioner.

I personally like the bag offer thread- never thought it was a brag, I view it more as a window onto available inventory

I think this is absolutely correct and was the original intended purpose of the thread; however, many don't see it that way from what I have seen over the years, and as a result, many (myself included) have stopped posting offers in general. That is a shame because again, to your point, it does provide great perspective in terms of what is available, colours that are in heavy rotation, etc.

To stay OT... I suppose my UO is that the idea of spend ratios, reading way too much into a relationship with an SA, overthinking offers or rather the lack of, and everthing is this general lexicon is exhausting.

UO - I don't like the light or medium pinks like rose sakura or rose azalea, and prefer the darker more saturated pinks like rose mexico, poupre, etc. One exception though, I do like mauve pale.

Also, I just saw some replica/inspired/whatever-you-want-to-call-it Chypre sandals on someone. I didn't even know that was a thing. I feel I'm noticing that the H products like the Orans, Avalons, obviously bags, etc. are being duped everywhere and it gives me an ick feeling. Maybe that's naive of me, I don't know.

I'm the same, even though I think we're in a minority. My favourite pinks are Rose Mexico and Rose Extreme, and in a smaller size. There are people who have a generally much lighter or more muted wardrobe though so I can understand if that's 'bag'.

It was only a matter of time. Too many and too much 'H' at H.

There are SO many dupes/replicas of the shoes/sandals/bags with the “H” that the local high school at first glance looked like “Hermes Central”….

I inquired and was told there are “great options” on Amazon starting at $25….😂🤣😂🤣

UO: I don’t like any logo branded “H” products… constance, geta, bride a bac…especially as it looks like the Hilfiger logo from the 90s…

I will now erect my protective shield😉

I just wanted to say THANK YOU to the
members of this forum who have continually shared kindness, grace, expertise and outstanding wit as I (for years!) and many others have navigated the world of Hermes.

Sure there are “annoyances and unnecessary repetition” at times but I thoroughly appreciate you all for your patience.

UO: You are NOT thanked enough😘

Another UO I don’t like the look and feel of Herbag, when I tried it on in the store the leather part felt plasticky/cheap, this is not smth I want from Hermes. Also too saturated on social media with the way Herbag is portrayed as an entry bag from H

I think better value for money for a more “affordable” bag from H is Garden Party, it’s lightweight, easy to use, can be used daily, no visible branding. Chic tote bag!
I also don't like the herbag . doesnt do it for me the way garden party and picotin do.

When me and my DH were at FSH store and could see all the bags and sizes, while waiting for my appointment, I asked my DH what about Constance, should there be a case where SA brings it out as an option? He said: absolute NO, we’re not buying that 😄 Luckily, SA brought out a Birkin for us 🤣

For some reason he doesn’t like H as a clasp 🤣

Regular Constance is not my top choice either, but recently I saw a clutch version in croco at the airport and proportion-wise it seemed really nice 🖤 I can’t imagine the price range for this one 🙈

I also dislike Hermès bags, belts and RTW with ‘H’ all over them including the Constance, the ubiquitous H clasped belt, knits with ‘H’ woven into them, etc. My distaste for obvious logos is not limited to Hermès as I also dislike LV luggage/bags emblazoned with LV, etc. I believe my British grandmother would have described logo wear as gauche…IMO she wasn’t wrong.
