What’s your unpopular Hermes opinion?

Oooh, flaccid is another scary adjective to describe Chamkila…
Is bendy; flexible; droopy better lol
(Still UO bc most members here do love chèvre)

ETA: I had a Kelly longue wallet in chèvre. The sangliers somehow looked stretchy and droopy, even if they didn’t actually stretch. Like old bra straps

My unpopular opinion today, and I know JUST how unpopular this one is gonna be 🦆 🦆 🦆 🔥 so here goes:

It's MY g****n Kelly, I bought it with my money 💰 that I earned myself. Its care and upkeep is up to me. The stuff inside it is mine, and safeguarding that stuff is also up to me.
If I want to carry my Kelly wide freakin' open, hangin' out on the wild, wicked streets of Paris or NYC or Monte Carlo or Dubai, that's MY call, and I don't want to hear a bunch of judgy stuff about how it's bad for the bag and I am so at risk for marauding highwaymen etc etc etc. It's not YOUR bag or your things inside, it's mine.

Most of all, when I am PAYING for something, like lunch or a nice shopping trip, my Kelly is going to be open for a hot minute  . That's how it works - bag opens, money comes out  . I don't want to worry every time I take my wallet out that someone is taking a photo to shame me on tPF..."ooooh, look, I can't BELIEVE that Kelly is open..."
Sweetheart, my bag needs to be open for me to pay for things.

rant over 🤣

UO, but I don’t like a look of Twilly on my B35 😂 maybe it’s the Twilly color, the bag size/handle proportions, the way I tied it, but it’s look too girly, totally not my style 🤣 and somehow cheapens the bag look for me

I like the clean look of Birkin, no Twillies, no clochettes, no Rodeos, no extra accessories, just a rich Togo leather with veining 🤤

Also I like Hermes silk so much, and silk in general is a delicate material, why would I want to ruin a beautiful Twilly with my “greasy” hands? 😂

Another UO I don’t like the look and feel of Herbag, when I tried it on in the store the leather part felt plasticky/cheap, this is not smth I want from Hermes. Also too saturated on social media with the way Herbag is portrayed as an entry bag from H

I think better value for money for a more “affordable” bag from H is Garden Party, it’s lightweight, easy to use, can be used daily, no visible branding. Chic tote bag!

I am joining the cause to make the target bigger. I once posted with my K hanging open (so that I can put my phone back in after the selfie) and I saw a lot of unhappy posts about the hanging open K.

My UO is: If someone doesn’t like my stains and scratches on my bags, please scroll by instead of inflicting psychological damage to oneself.

Scratches happen. Dents happen. HW can get damaged. So what?

My UO lately: I don't understand the appeal of the chaine d'ancre pattern. It looks like a glorified pull tab on a soda can. BUT I have been known to eat my words so perhaps I'll change my mind later on.

now that you have written that - it's a look that won't go away - very amusing

you made me look up the origins - I bet it's not widely known
rather like how many people realise the Birkin was designed for a person??? or how the Kelly got it's name

'In 1937, Robert Dumas watched boats as he strolled along the Normandy coast. The anchor chains that held them in place caught his eye and inspired the shape of the iconic Chaine d'ancre motif.'

perhaps 'drinking' your words would be more appropriate

Same! I’ve tried “dressing” up my bags and it’s just so not me. Love it on others though

LOL! 💯 joining your UO! I never close my Kelly bags (unless I’m in airport-go figure and don’t bother with sangles). My bags are just bags! I don’t baby them, I do throw them on my closet floor, I don’t care for the occasional scratches with wear, I hate closing them. What’s more even non-Kelly wearing people have stopped me to inform me my bag is open and I am polite about it, but seriously ofcourse I know it’s open, I refuse to bother to close it. I could never take the time to open and close every time I pay for something or need my phone 📱.

I’m a little tired of these questions which seem to be the majority of new threads today . (though I still weigh in with my opinion if I am scrolling through lol)

Should I buy bright or neutral bag
Should i sell, donate, or keep my bag
Is it safe to wear my bag
Should I change SAs if ___
And,
Is this resale bag too good to be true?

Ans: if you are unsure, don’t do it
