What’s your unpopular Hermes opinion?

I also dislike Hermès bags, belts and RTW with ‘H’ all over them including the Constance, the ubiquitous H clasped belt, knits with ‘H’ woven into them, etc. My distaste for obvious logos is not limited to Hermès as I also dislike LV luggage/bags emblazoned with LV, etc. I believe my British grandmother would have described logo wear as gauche…IMO she wasn’t wrong.
I feel the same when it comes to other Hermes H-branded merchandise, and I also dislike Kelly lock detail used on shoes, belts and so on... If one has a Birkin or Kelly with this lock mechanism, why would he/she want to wear the matching shoes, belt, jewellery? It feels so unimpressive to me, just a way to show off "look I wear Hermes head to toe".... Social media totally ruined Hermes in a way, it's not a quiet luxury brand anymore, easily recognisable...

Maybe that's why I really like Hermes scarves, there're so many beautiful prints and colours and only connoisseurs might recognise it's a Hermes scarf from a print detail, but you're not covered in logos head to toe, it's almost like an art, each print with its unique character

Fully agree! I love the look and shape of the knee high story boot - but I always wear mine without the kelly lock around it…. I was so happy when I found out that I can remove it! Same for the jumping boot.

Still, I have to say that for some knitwear or woven cashmere Shawls the H is sometimes so large that it thankfully becomes hardly recognisable because I really like the quality of some of their wool and Cashmere knits. My SA always laughs when I first ask if an H is visible and double check when trying things on.

Oh, and I do not want an Constance /Kelly miniature hanging and dangling around my neck as a pendant. Those are bags, why on earth should I put a tiny bag around my neck on a chain? They are so pretty as real bags in my hand or crook but as jewellery- I do not get it.

Those bag-shaped pendants remind me of Pandora charms 🤣

Agreed. I’d even go so far to say, as my UO, I don’t get any of H FJ designs. The only FJ piece I own is the Galop design, as a horse lover

I recently traveled to not very rich country, in the hotel lobby I saw 2 girls from the oldest profession with Bs, one with Oran sandals, the other with the new espadrilles/slides, that I bought recently 🙈 both wore super short denim shorts. I questioned my choices and felt a bit disappointed that the brand has become so mass market. I shared it with my husband and he said, that most probably the bags were fakes. Not that this is calming.

French actress Marion Cotillard...

This pic is utter perfection but only when I put my finger across the ‘H’. I just can’t do it.

@Deneuveness, I wasn’t intending to call you here but I couldn’t figure out how to just tag the pic. Sorry about that, but thanks for keeping the eye candy coming in the Stars thread :flowers:

I dislike the emphasis on in-crowd acronyms! A QB weirdly isn't Patrick Mahomes, and an SO is constructed of leather and hardware and not that very patient guy over there. What? I pity the newcomers struggling to interpret the shorthand.
You think it’s just the new members who are struggling? I’ve been here for years and not sure what half of them actually mean…:hrmm:
On another note I adore the miniature silver kelly necklace and have two. The contemporary version and the vintage one - which is the cutest little thing with movable lock - and an opening.

LOL!

I can hear my father now... "I paid all of that money to send you to college, and you couldn't figure out how to get a pocket book with your own initial on it?"

He used to say this about our Aigner bags in the 80s.

I agree (I've posted on this before) on most. Expensive H souvenirs.

Although I give a pass to the Constance, I probably couldn't wear such hw myself, but I think the hardware is clever and the bag is so beautiful.
